With the huge news just dropping, we share our excitement of a historic interleague match between Sun FC and NWSL's Gotham FC happening in March! It's wild, and who else but Tampa Bay to be trendsetters yet again?
Is there a contract restriction for USLSL that prevents it from being broadcast OTA? Similar that of the NBA and cable channels.
Prior to the MLS getting the AppleTV contract, they would broadcast the Charlotte FC games OTA. With USLSL broadcast on Peacock, would they still be capable?
I contacted my NBC affiliate to ask them to try. I hope something happens.
EDIT: WCNC got back to me hoping I was an affiliate of Ascent. They said they had previously held talks with them but they fell through early on. Here's to hoping by they spark something new.
Our second semifinal match for the week sees Dallas Trinity's home kit go up against what has overwhelmingly been considered the top jersey, Carolina Ascent's home kit.
For conversation, the Trinity kit did not sweep their table, as they tied Lexington's away kit and was only able to move on to the semis by beating Lexington's home kit.
After a few weeks of you guys voting for your favorite jerseys, we've come down to four. And those four are all home kits.
So today we begin voting on who we want in the finals, next week!
For semifinals 1, we have Brooklyn FC and Tampa Bay Sun FC. Both teams swept their table.
First, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who participated by commenting or voting along the way. I had fun with it and I hope you guys did, as well, looking at what was being discussed.
Second, special thanks to the three who submitted cities:
u/Additional-Pop4869 - Atlanta
u/CentientXX111 - Cincinnati
u/J_Hunt1123 - Detroit
The final round was determined by voting and Atlanta and my own submission, Daly City, moved forward.
In the end, with a vote of 8-3, ATLANTA wins our very first Fantasy Expansion Game!
Congratulations and happy cake day to u/Additional-Pop4869, who has promised to make the Aqua-dome a reality!!
And as the ceremony closes, we offer this video in celebration!
I’m watching the WSL on YouTube right now, and the crystal Palace - Tottenham match is extremely rainy. It’s tough to see the game through the rain on the lens, and that makes me appreciate how well the broadcasts on Peacock were, even when they played in the rain. What else do you think the USLSL has done well?
Here we go, the final poll for the first ever Fantasy Expansion Game!
Our two finalists are Atlanta, GA and Daly City, CA. Check out the links for the bids.
The most exciting group, as while three teams can mathematically win, this group has the highest percent chance of the currently second-place team being able to take the top spot. If Tampa By Sun FC Home loses, the Away kit doesn't have nearly as much work to do to take that top spot.
In an incredibly unlikely scenario, it is possible to see DC Power FC Home move on to the semis, but it would take a higher vote differential favoring the Power than the total of any votes on any poll, so far in this sub. Highly unlikely that Ascent Home even loses this match, but if they do, Ascent Away are still 19 votes south of where they'd need to be to take the top.
The final poll begins on Friday and lasts for three days, and here are your two competitors!
As mentioned, poll goes live on Friday and will last for three days! Good luck to the two completely fictional expansion bids in this fantasy expansion game!
