Lap 1, turn 2, absolute classic x4, I genuinely flinched when the white car leap over me!
So, after finally settling on a VR headset for my kids, (It's their #1 item on their X-Mas lists) we ordered the Meta Quest 3 - 128GB.
I know if you get the PC link cable for it, you can use it with PC, and know at some point, the kids will get bored with it and I might be able to use it. However, I currently run a single ultrawide 1440p, so I don't have the beefiest system. My specs are:
Ryzen 3600X, 32GB RAM, Radeon 6700XT.
Would the performance be good enough, or would I need to upgrade at least my GPU first?
Thanks in advance, and happy holidays all!
Hey, so I am making DIY version of BMW wheel from Fanatec. And I am looking for buttons they use or something high quality look a like (backlit not needed). Does someone have recommendation for buttons?
Hey guys. Hope I'm posting this in the correct place. So I got back into sim racing recently and decided to go with a pretty sweet deal on a G923, secondhand. I own GT 7 and love it and the wheel is definitely a welcomed addition to my journey. But man was I disappointed in it's force feedback and integration of it's trueforce tech. However, I still enjoy myself understanding this is entry level and sufficient enough in the long run. Something told me to download my old copy of Project Cars. Once I got into that and immediately took off, the difference in force feedback was truly night and day!!!!!! I mean that ish felt so strong that I kept spinning out because I have gotten use to the lightness of the wheel on GT 7. So I decided to try different cars and I'm just like, yeah, this wheel is 10X better on OG Project Cars than it is on GT 7. I dunno, just wanted to share that.
Guys and girls, we, here at Yorkshire Racing Team, are an easy going bunch of people from Yorkshire and we are trying to field 3 cars for the iRacing Daytona 24 Hours on 18-19 January and invite any drivers who wish to take part to get in touch and let us know if you want to drive a GT3 or a GTP.
We need the following:
UK based, doing this for a bit of fun, we’ll sort the hard work out if you join us!
hi everyone.
i'm interested in getting into the sim driving world and buying my first wheel. Like many people im struggling to decide what to buy.
I play on PC only.
I've been looking at the budget options of the t248 (£189) and the slightly more expensive T300 RS GT (£249) , both those prices are amazon on offer at the moment.
My main issue with either of these is how old they are. So i was wondering if i'd missed any other valid options around this price range.
I was also looking at a moza R3 PC only bundle which is currently £299, so abit more expensive but I presume is better in every way?
Ive emailed moza to ask about the R3 delivery and availability to the UK because it isnt clear on their website where it will ship from and therefore how long id be waiting.
thanks for any suggestions.
To build the ultimate racing simulator with an unlimited budget, you can create a setup that rivals professional-grade simulators used by race teams. Here’s what you should aim for:
Invest in a full-motion simulator platform that replicates every bump, vibration, and G-force. • Top Choice: DOF Reality H6/P6 or D-Box G5 4250i (or higher) for highly realistic 6DOF motion. • Alternative: SimCraft Apex Pro Series for unparalleled realism and adjustability.
You already own a Fanatec GT DD Pro, but go for top-tier options: • Wheelbase: Simucube 2 Ultimate (extremely high torque and precision). • Rim Choices: • Cube Controls Formula Pro Wireless (for F1 cars). • Turn Racing R20 (for GT and endurance). • Precision Sim Engineering GPX (high-end with customizable displays).

This is the simulator that would impress even professional racers. Would you like help sourcing or fine-tuning this list?
Hi all,
I recently decided that I want a little rig to play Gran Turismo 7 on VR. A driving rig is something I’d always dreamed of as a kid but never really thought about getting until now. I ordered a Logitech G Pro wheel + pedals which are incoming.
I’m struggling with the seat at this point. I would love something foldable so that I could easily move it out of the way when not in use. I’d be setting this up in the living room and don’t want to be seeing it every day if I’m not using it and especially if guests come over. This is why something like the Playseat Challenge X is appealing to me.
But of course I’ve read a smattering of mixed opinions online of how well the Challenge X would work with a DD wheel and load cell brake. Some people say the flex is barely noticeable. Some people say it was unbearable and they had to upgrade. I know there are Indigo Lime bracing kits that help with this.
So now I’m trying to see if the Playseat Trophy may be necessary. It doesn’t fold, which is a bummer but it can store vertically which I could manage to live with lugging it out to the garage when not in use (it’ll be annoying but willing to do it if it’s that much better).
I guess I’m hoping to take another temp check: for folks who have used the Playseat Challenge X (or normal Challenge), with or without the available bracing kits, with a DD wheel and load cell brake, how well has it been working? Anyone happy with theirs? Anyone who couldn’t live with it want to chime in as well?
I know it’s all about compromises but just trying to get better calibrated with folks’s real experiences. Thanks in advance.
I’m a casual racing game player. Played a lot as a child but just getting back into them as an adult. Currently playing a lot of Forza Horizon on the games pass on Series S but also have a PS5 as my main console and GT7 is great. I want to get a wheel setup but not sure what console to go for. Games pass has a great collection but I feel that I’d be missing out on GT7 if I got a wheel for the Xbox. What are the best games for a wheel? Which console should I go for?
Before anyone says it - I’m not getting a PC! Thanks guys 👍
Hi everyone,
been simracing for quite a while, even have had a wooden rig in the past and one of the cheaper playseats in the past. Currently running a setup on my desk with a T500RS with the amazing pedals and a TH8 shifter...
Got a bonus at work for Christmas and convinced my wife to make a serious rig. However, I can't go completely crazy right away and want to upgrade it in the coming years... The idea is to slowly upgrade it so that in about 5 years I can upgrade it to a motion rig... ( first add buttkickers etc next year or year after depening on how it goes :p )
The idea is to make a "small" investment that I can add on to in the next 5 to 10 years to make it into my dream rig with all the bells and whistles, but if the new X1Pro can not be upgraded later on, I need to find a new base rig to start from.
So here's my questions:
Can that new X1Pro even be upgraded to a motion rig later on? Boosted Media suggested in their review that the lack of the middle guidance rail on the bottom frame could reduce upgradeability later on, but they were a bit short on the details with what they mean... Like, can I actually add the buttkickers I want later on and is that missing middle rail really an issue to add motion-support later on? And, if it can't go to that upgrade, what would you recommend as a good base-rig for my plans?
I'm going to get the upcoming Fanatec Gran Turismo set as my son loves GT7 and he would be using the rig just as I do. However, that set only comes with 2 pedals and as I already have the amazing pedals from the T500RS ( mounted on top like in a real car, which feels amazing ), but I'm it's unclear to me if that set of pedals works with the wheelbase ( for use in GT7 ) or will I have to delay my first buttkicker and just start with 2 pedals in the beginning and upgrade to decent Fanatec Pedals next year?
Thanks a lot in advance!!!!
There are a lot of good deals at the moment on 32” 2k curved monitors. I used to have flat 27” IPS, these gave great colours but as my side monitors were at 60 degrees, the ips viewing angle wasn’t brilliant, so for example the dash notably changed colour from the driving seat due to the angle relative to my head… and also the contrast not great either - I gather VA is better for this but may suffer from more ghosting?
I’m thinking of going 32” curved VA. Can anyone give any definitive recommendations. I’m UK based. Thanks
I’ve been looking around and I saw those wheels. I’ve heard about issue with the usb. Is it a common thing? How’s the wheel in general? I’ve been looking at the GSI FPE v2 but I wanted to see if the cheaper Leoxz options were good before I spend $1500.
Getting newly into sim racing (thanks to My 1st GT + VR2), the two wheels I was considering were the Logitech G923 and the Thrustmaster T300rs GT.
Doing my resesearch, the overwhelming majority prefered the T300. I ordered both, using the G923 first for 20 hours of GT7.
I know there are a million comparisons of those exact models, but here is my take (or should I say rant?):
G923 (280€)
The G923 feels very nice in almost evey aspect: The leather covered wheel with dents for the thumbs feels very nice and adds plenty to the immersion. You just want to stroke and feel the wheel before the race begins (no homo). There are enough buttons for every stupid feature like indicators or wipers. The pedals are a bit close to each other, but thats fine. The break is nice and firm. The base is quite loud, but I think people made a bigger deal out of that, it didnt really bother me.
T300rs (330€)
The T300 clearly allows a better racing performance. The force feedback is stronger and provides you with more information. Thanks to the belt transmission it is more precise than the G923. In the center position of the Logitech wheel, you can feel a clearance, which acts like a precision lowering deadzone. If you let go of the wheel while driving, it always wobbles within this deadzone. You dont have that here (t300).
BUT: The wheel feels cheap, like a toy. No leather, no thumb rests. The pedal base has only one row of screw holes, causing it to bend while breaking hard. Im not even sure, if those threads are made to be used for mounting it on a rig or just for the rubber stop. Speaking of which: The break is so lose, you have to use that rubber thing. Even though it improves it, it still feels like a cheap solution, like "fixing" a rocking table using a sugar packet. The wheel is removable, but I cant imagine ever making use of that feature. Id rather sell the whole thing and get a DD, before spending at least 200€ more for a new rim. Not only does it feel cheap, it has almost no extra buttons. Beside the d-pad and 4 standard buttons, the Dualsense has 7 more buttons, the G923 has 9 more buttons, but the T300: only 4 buttons extra! Why? This means I can only map the essential car features, which is another blow to the immersion.
My decision and TL;DR:
I will keep the T300 because it is technologically more advanced and allows a better racing performance for only 50 bucks more. But it feels like shit. I will really miss the immersive Logitech rim, but sadly keeping the T300 is the logical decision.
And ofc the obligatory: Sry for my bad english. Its a long text and Im sure I messed something up.
I went to go see my dad a few states over and while I was there I grabbed a T598 wheel at Best Buy for when I got home. Drove 1400 miles to get back home to do more driving 😂
I have to do the cable management shuffle, so last night I was too tired to mount this to my sim rig, so for fun I wedged it with my knees and played around a bit in time trial with a Mustang in GT7 and I have to say, instant upgrade in feel and force feedback! The brakes too…wow. Now to install this thing, cuz I’m stoked as hell so far!
Oh and getting the F1 wheel too!
I’ve only been into sim racing for about 4 months now, and I feel like I need to expand my knowledge to improve. Specifically, I’m looking to learn more about racing series, car setups, and most importantly, racing techniques.
I’m still struggling quite a bit with racing techniques, so if there’s a book or resource that focuses heavily on that, I’d love to hear you review about it. Any recommendations on books or other resources that can help me level up my skills would be greatly appreciated!
Hello, i need help with speed on slow speed corners and chicanes, my friend recently borrowed me his wheel, and i noticed that i am so slow in chicanes and slow corners compared to my speed when playing on controller, mainly in baku T1,T8 and T10 i lose .1 sometimes more comapred to ai On T1 i almost stop to make the corner, any tips to improve?
I mainly play F123 and sometimes ACC
Ive been obsessed with sim racing for a while now but i still havent figured it out.
So its a really simple question but i cant find an exact specific answer. I want to use a simagic gt neo on a moza r9 base. Is it possible? Do anyone use them together here? If yes then how? Do i need the moza qr adapter or something else?
Ordered a brand new VNM Shifter, that arrived with a faulty switch on the back (the one to select H pattern or sequential pattern).
It was stuck on sequential mode,so I ordered some switches on Amazon, and replaced the faulty one with another one more reliable.
Easy DIY if you have an electronic solderer.
Hi folks, I’m currently using a G29 with the standard pedals on PC. I’m struggling to get used to TC off in games. I was told that getting load cell pedals would make a huge difference for this. I mostly play the F1 games but I’m venturing into AC/ACC.
My question/s: Is it worth upgrading now to get used to the benefits?
What’s the cheapest pedals that would be worth the upgrade?
Should I stick to the G29 pedals until I improve, then upgrade?
Ive been thinking about getting a new wheel and I play GT7, With the RS QR adapater would no functionality work at all including paddle shifters if I used a fanatec mclaren gt3 wheel on it cause its on console? or is there a way I can make it work as I love the look of the fanatec wheel and would love to use it with my logitech g pro base. Also is the RS QR adapater a good buy if i dont want to get the logitech hub just to use more of their own wheels? Like can i use the adapater instead of the hub.
Sorry if this is confusing i tried to write it as best as i could.
