For an upcoming show, KPBS Midday Edition wants to hear from the community: What is your third place? How does that space make you feel? Have you always had access to a proper third place? What makes your third place special to you?

Input from anyone that has an auto loan through Mission Federal - I forgot to pay my car payment, 3 days late, and they disabled online pay, I called in to pay it and they said a $10.00 fee will be applied, I said I'm not paying that, and they said the only option is to pay in person at the bank then. So Mission Fed intentionally makes it more difficult to pay what you owe if you miss one payment. This seems ludicrous to me. Any insight here?

My apartment community is charging us $2,835 for a 720sq ft 1/1 apartment. It actually comes out to almost $3,000 after fees.

I met a couple touring our community today after they stopped me and asked how i liked living here. I genuinely do like it. I asked what their rent would be (base) and they said $2,345! Same floor plan, same everything.

I know it’s about timing and the time of year where your rental rate is determined.

My question is, is there anyway to talk to the apartment complex/management about lowering our rate? since they’re renting our exact apartment for 500 dollars cheaper?

It’s NOT worth 3k (it’s not worth $2300, let’s be honest but we live in San Diego so what’re you gonna do).

Hi everyone, I’m in the process of applying for mortgage rates and wanted to see where everyone else was at currently. We are looking at a new build home in Chula Vista that should close in August.

Currently getting 7.25% with $3179 to lock that in for 120 days from builder estimated 20k to close but they have 5k builder incentives

Another offer was 7%, no fees (underwriting, points, etc) from my credit union. Would only be 5-8k for title to close.

These are for 20% down on a 900k home.

I’ve been noticing rents starting to go down - a tiny bit. Anyone else seeing this or am I going crazy? Maybe there are just more apartments on the market this time of year. I’m up for renewal so I’ve been looking to see what’s out there.

I know kind of dumb question but I’m learning Spanish and my teacher says having conversations is the best way to learn. I went to a Mexican restaurant and attempted to order and ask a question in Spanish but she just looked at me like weirdly and responded in English. Am I being obnoxious by doing this? I was with my girlfriend who speaks Spanish and she said I ordered it correctly I just have a dumb gringo accent.

I have a Proform Pro 2000 that is making a weird noise and needs a new walking belt. I am having a really hard time finding someone to help me repair this.

Does anyone have any recommendations for anyone who does house calls on home gym equipment? I am in Normal Heights. Some of the google searches seem sketchy as hell....and the Proform website is no help whatsoever.

I run a small music collective/record label and looking to do a small show somewhere in South SD. Probably 50-100 people. The vibe is deep house with some UK influence (think Chris Stussy type of music).

Does anyone have any recommendations on good venues? Preferably something open-air as we’ll do it in the summertime, PB/coastal area would be great.

Hi! My friend and I will stay one week in San Diego in September and I’m trying to figure out where to stay without a car. We love to walk around and have no problem using public transport and sometimes uber/lyft. We would like to visit Balboa Park and the Zoo, Sea World, USS Midway, Old town, Sunset Cliffs, etc.

Actually I’m thinking about to book the Best Western Yacht Harbor Hotel. But I can’t find any information about public transport there? Which area would you recommend? 😊

Well 1st to start it was about the most difficult thing ever.

Comparing it to taking him into regular VET would have been around $600+ish

But I used Paws Into Grace.. Got a Next day appt Spoke with Brooke. Which by the way this business is woman owned.

The doctor (Dr Paul Klaus) came out on time went over things etc... gave me condolences etc, was very comforting esp as I cried.. Explained everything step by step etc. After DANGER's last shot was given which I was holding his head the whole time the Vet left the room and waited for the Driver (Josh)... Gave me more time with my passed dog... Asked If I wanted to help carry him to the VAN which showed up on the DR Klaus's command AFTER dog had passed.

My dog was taken to be creamated and almost exactly 2 weeks later process was finished.

In my case my dog was a little over 100 lbs, I had a SPECIAL Urn ordered and custom engraving done, It had a PAW Print in clay, Preserved his PAW and Nose print, and a locket of hair.

This place is very heartwarming /empathetic to your loss.... in which a VET just wouldn't be this attentitive.

Kept quality control from the second he left.

It may seem like a lot but the cost was just a little over $900 and included all the above. (Partly because of my dogs weight) they are handled individually in the process (not shared in the process machine with another animal) This was IN HOME Euthanasia.

I worked closely with Brooke on pretty much everything including the engraving/artwork etc... She even Sourced the EXACT SAME Urn that my last dog is in.

A nice thing is they also take CARE CREDIT... 6 mos no interest. This was especially helpful as over the last year I spent over $10K on "dangers" radiation/CT/Ultrasound/Xrays.(He had Cancer).

i'm an incoming student considering off campus housing at ucsd and i was wondering how does the avg rent look like for a studio or one bedroom apartment in la jolla and clairemont area? i was looking to see if rent is cheaper during august compared to the summer.
