Let's talk and discuss why there's nothing good at the airport except corporate garbage, why El Indio doesn't get more credit for inventing the rolled taco or just why all the taco shops around here seem to end in "buerto's".

I have a recipe for Christmas Day that requires bone marrow. Anyone know where I could pick some up?
Anyone know a good place for dongpo rou in SD? I’m craving it so much
hello all! My boyfriend and I are speding a few days in SD in January. We are somewhat adventurous eaters and are open to trying anything. I'm looking for food reccs in Gaslamp district, Little Italy, and Pacific Beach areas. We will have a car so are willing to drive out of the way a bit as well! looking for cheaper lunch options and a nice dinner or two :)
Does anyone know What happened did it get sold? I haven’t seen the old owner or any one I knew last couple times I went in and it was decorated like an Asian restaurant. It’s a completely different look and the pizza wasn’t the same. Back in the day at the first location the sauce was fire as hell. Then they had to make it not spicy. I have never had anything else like it. It was the best pizza I’ve ever had. Anyways just thought maybe someone here might know something.
Might be a little early, but I'm looking to lock in a reservation.
The in laws are all meeting - ISO a Christmas Eve dinner that suits:
We’ll all be near PB but distance isn’t too much of an issue. Looking for something between 80-150 a person I think.
The group itself isn’t super formal, but they DO enjoy a really good meal or experience (the food quality is priority though). I saw one restaurant does a Hawaiian shirt vibe that would be fun for us, but everyone would also gush if we had a cool ocean view.
None of the articles or posts I’ve seen about it are newer than last years’ Christmas and I’m LA based so not able to poke around local spots. Hoping to get some advice!
Looking to host a nice birthday dinner for 6 and want to make it a little more special/predictable in cost. Any recommendations for restaurants that would offer a pre fixe ~3-4 course menu or a pre-planned family style dinner for a group of 6? Bonus points if they have a good steak. Thanks!!
ETA: Budget: possibly ~100-150 person max, but generally open. Region: downtown/central SD to north county, but also open!
Does anyone remember the troy's restaurant in Clairemont Mesa in the square? They closed during covid. I grew up eating there and there is just no substitute for some of their food. I'm wondering if they opened another restaurant or maybe the cooks went to another restaurant. Any help is appreciated!
I like all kinds of food and am open to anything from drive through to full service restaurant.
Hey! We have foodie friends coming to town for a show in gaslamp which we never go to bc we live in North Park and so... 😊... I want to take them downtown to eat so we can be close by. Thinking maybe happy hour situation? Callie is already booked and the happy hour reviews for saint James French diner are mixed. I love Ironside so thinking maybe we go to little italy and walk off the food to the place. Maybe born and raised early happy hour. Any recs? Ty!
No longer for sale, but check your fridge.

"CDC and public health officials in several states are investigating a multistate outbreak of E. coli O121 infections linked to multiple brands of recalled organic whole bagged carrots and baby carrots sold by Grimmway Farms. Carrots on store shelves right now are likely not affected but may be in people's homes. If you have any recalled carrots in your home, throw them out or return them to the store."

Me and my husband got sick so we couldn't cook anything special and though we could order some food but everything seems closed ☹️
I will be flying in with my husband and 10month old on Christmas Eve. I know some place may be closed, but we are looking for recommendations for a solid lunch spot. Open to all cuisines. We are foodies, so I don’t want to go just anywhere!
Ideally, we would like to try something near the airport, the beach (between Point Loma- La Jolla), or near the 15.
I appreciate any recommendations!
There’s a place in Orange County that I liked called Lollicup that had really tasty Taiwanese popcorn chicken. I found a Lollicup in Chula Vista but they don’t serve food there.
Is there a boba shop that serves good Taiwanese popcorn chicken? It would be a bonus if it also serves boba drinks made with real, fresh fruit.
If I missed any, please add them!

Just came back from Hawaii and I fell in love with the Spam Musubi sold in 7-Eleven. Such a great snack on the go.
Where can I find something similar to this?
Anyone know of a butcher or grocery store I can buy turkey legs to smoke?
Looking for a bar with Christmas/holiday-themed decor that has good bites and mocktails?
I saw pictures of Fort Oak and it’s exactly the vibe I’m looking for but looking at the holiday menu it looks like their only non-alcoholic offering is ginger beer
