Hi there! My dad (78yo) came to San Diego to visit me for a month. He is on a tourist visa, no Social Security number. Today he fell and hurt his elbow. It's swollen. He has no insurance and his flight is a two weeks from now I am thinking of taking him to the emergency room but I am afraid of the potential bill. Are there places in San Diego that treat people without insurance? Thank you

I’ll be visiting San Diego in a few months for work and was wondering what we’re some must try restaurants or things to see/do around the convention center area?

I’m in San Diego this week on a solo trip and am looking for something to do tonight / tomorrow night that isn’t halloween themed. I’m not looking to go to a rowdy bar, but rather am looking for a chill relaxed atmosphere, like a classier (but not too fancy) cocktail or glass of wine. I’m a woman in my late twenties going solo, so looking for something that could be ‘solo friendly’; not anything jam packed. thanks ahead of time for any & all recommendations!

I got some helpful feedback from this previous post: and am hoping you guys can help with some more pointed follow up questions. Based on feedback, I've made some tweaks to the itinerary, which now looks something like this (questions embedded):

Day 1: Torrey Pines/Gliderport in the morning, perhaps eat at the deli there for lunch. Nothing until Pelly's mini golf in del mar later in the afternoon and then south of nick's for dinner. Is there an obvious short-ish hike around there we should try to do? Something in the 1-3 mile range?

Day 2: Zoo all day. Any dinner recommendations for down that way (after we're done at the zoo?)

Day 3: Annie's Canyon right after breakfast, La Jolla Cove for late morning, head to Pacific Beach and Oscar's for tacos for lunch, maybe Pizza Port in Solana Beach for dinner.

Day 4: Disneyland all day

Day 5: late breakfast, head to Encinitas and Moonlight Beach/playground. Skipping Belmont Park altogether After lunch take the coaster to old town for dinner and walking around.

Day 6: Safari Park first thing. Should we plan for a full day there?

Day 7: Head down to Coronado after breakfast and check out Hotel Del. Is there a good lunch spot down there? Swing through Ocean Beach (grandparents showing us their old haunts) on the way back north. Any places we should be sure to check out in OB?

Hoping to get recommendations for intermediate level golf lessons in the San Diego area to gift to my brother for his birthday. A few years ago he got really into golf and has been going out to the range and local courses with his buddies whenever he can.

Any recommendations for a decently walkable area with coffee shops and breweries within close proximity that I can work/study at?

I need some places to spend a few hours working and studying while having some coffee and later a beer as I wait for my buddy to get off work.

My buddy lives and works near Liberty Station, so ideally something that is south of the 5 and west of the 805, but not as far south as Chula Vista.

Connect Auto Glass was great. 👍 they have reasonable prices and does free mobile service. They came and did a complete windshield replacement on my Honda. Give them a try, highly recommend them! Better than going thru your insurance and paying the deductible which most of the time there is!

Hi all, I’m moving to San Diego soon and was hoping to get some recommendations for neighborhoods near Torrey Pines. My office is in Torrey Pines, and I would like to live within 15 minute driving distance from the office and within 10 minute driving distance from a beach (but preferably within 20 minutes walking distance from a beach). Price is not too much of an issue but it would be ideal if the neighborhood is fun/good for young professionals to live in as well (rather than just for families). Thanks in advance!

I love going to social, upbeat clubs/ bars. PB is very very college aged oriented, and the whistle stop bar is such a hit or miss. I have been going to downtown for like 10 years, and The Tipsy Crow was always a solid venue, but in the past few months it has seemed to have gotten progressively trashy. I am wondering if there are any other spots I may not be aware of.

Trying to decide between The Gaslamp or PB. North Park is always very mellow, but I am wondering if it’s a little more lively on Halloween weekend.

Anything going on this weekend? Tried getting tickets for balboa parks haunted trails but it’s sold out. Any other suggestions?

Hey everyone - I’m planning a reservation for a group of 10 (bachelor party).

Curious if anyone has done either of the above reservations at and which one you’d recommend for a large group of people. Per their website both can accommodate our size party so I think it would come down to vibes for us.

I work late but I was still hoping to make it to something, I live an hour away from San Diego so I have to make the drive. Will there be anything open at this hour? I don’t mind if it’s dry.

Or do you know anything happening October 28th, 30th, or November 1st? I have those days off, so I’m available all day. They could be little events or big events doesn’t matter but I was hoping for maybe a festival, club/dancing, I’m not sure anything will do!

Hi I currently live in SD south Clairemont area near convoy. I’m in not a huge rush to move but need to move from a 1 bed to. 2 bedroom.

Our rent is 2190 for a 1 bedroom townhouse loft style, now that I’m working from home for almost a year now I realize how I do in fact need an office space. Or at least doors so my bf and I won’t hear each other.

We found an apartment that is down the street the is 2825 for a townhome 2 bedroom 1.5 bath. It has a balcony, central ac and heating, and in unit laundry. It’s newly renovated and very well kept, no parking included but it has street parking. I’m just having trouble justifying the price without knowing if people in general think this is a decent price to pay

I would be the one increasing how much I pay, as I’m the one who actually needs the office. I would go from 950 to 1465 which is a 500 dollar increase for myself. He currently pays 1250 and is willing to go to 1350ish.

So having a bachelor party soon, budget isn't a problem - we are all 23-27; I spent time in San Diego so know that Pacific Beach and Gaslamp (as well as Tijuana) are the Epicenters but what are the must go spots to have a crazy night out (dancing, girls, etc).

Like the title says, I’m looking for a reasonably priced day spa. Himalayan salt rooms, facials, massages etc.

Hi - we'll be visiting in early November for a week, staying in Solana Beach. Our kids are 10, 8, and 5, and I'm hoping you can advise on this tentative itinerary - whether any of the plans don't make sense travel/time wise, if any of the days are too ambitious, if I'm overlooking any must-dos, or if I'm planning things that should be skipped. I'd also love food/restaurant/brewery recs for anywhere you want to volunteer them. We all love tacos.

Day 1: Visit Torrey Pines to hike and check out the gliderport in the morning. Head to Pacific Beach for the afternoon (no real agenda besides sightseeing).

Day 2: Zoo for the morning and afternoon, head to Old Town for happy hour/dinner. I've seen Casa Guadalajara and Old Town Mexican highly recommended here. Should we target one of those?

Day 3: Annie's Canyon for a morning hike, La Jolla Cove/tide pools for late morning, Brigantine Seafood for happy hour.

Day 4: Disneyland all day (this is the only thing that's actually locked in)

Day 5: Coronado in the morning to check out Hotel Del etc. Ocean Beach for the afternoon.

Day 6: Safari Park after breakfast, nothing planned for the late afternoon/evening.

Day 7: North to Encinitas to check out Moonlight state beach/playground. Head to Belmont park for rides/amusements for the afternoon/evening*.

*Edit: after some more poking around, it seems Belmont Park may not be ideal for later in the day (like after dark). Seeing as we'll be doing rides all day at Disneyland, and maybe hitting up mini golf at Pelly's up near where we're staying, I'm thinking maybe we skip Belmont Park altogether. Wise/unwise?

I am planning a San Diego visit during late November - early December (around 5 days). I’m a beach person and tend to visit Miami during this time for the sun and beach vacation. I’m excited to explore San Diego but unsure if the water/weather is too cold for a beach vacation during this time of the year. Typically I’d like to laze around on a beach with a book and some food, is that the vibe on any of these beaches? I’m trying to decide where to stay based on if this is possible. Also looking to explore the night life and food and everything else I can during the visit but I’m torn between deciding to stay on the beach or find a stay somewhere nearer to downtown. Hi, We're flying into to San Diego (from Canada) from the 23rd to 30th and are seeking recommendations on where to stay and what to do. We have 3 kids (ages 12, 8, and 7). We are planning to check out San Diego Zoo, but anything else that's a must see? I think Legoland may be better suited for younger kids?

Just for background info - it is not a medical emergency. She needs a provider that will problem solve with her and thus far has been rushed through appointments and offered only a pap each time.

I love this dark salsa. So Smokey and funky and not too intense in heat. I’m messing around trying to make what look like similar salsas but don’t come close in flavor. Anybody have any ideas?
