Read our rules here.
Here are some guidelines and rules. Some or all of these rules extend to our sub:
Be NICE and polite to others. Though you are online and safe behind your computer, you are interacting with human beings here. We want to create a helping, friendly and safe ecosystem where our student community could feel comfortable and encouraged to come ask and answer questions and reply. If you behave belligerent, truculent or combative, unkind or nasty you will be removed or banned. Keep your attitude in check. This forum is an extension of our campus. What you won't say to others in person, you can't say here hiding behind an account. Reddit's usage policy is strongly enforced here. Please read reddiquette. Follow Reddit Content Policy.
This rule was made due to multiple troll and spam accounts. You cannot make an account just for this SDSU. Reddit is the 3rd most visited website on the internet. Joining this sub is privileged-- meaning it takes time and investment to build an account with history and karma. If you don't already have a reddit account, then this subreddit is probably not for you. If you are new to Reddit or r/SDSU, then this is subreddit is not for you. Recently made a new reddit account and wants to come to r/SDSU, then this sub reddit is not yet open to you. We don't allow alt accounts, thowaway accounts, spam accounts, dont-care accounts, one time accounts, karma farming accounts and anonymous accounts. This is a community of students, alumni's, and faculties, and their friends and families and we want to establish trust. An account with no activity outside of /r/SDSU is considered as a throwaway account with no social capital and your submissions will be automatically removed. A new account with no history, no karma is also considered throwaway account. Read the sidebar section, 'Why was my post removed?' before making a submission.
Use this medium for good and meaningful discussions. Try to genuinely relate when you answer. Don't waste other people's time. Comments will be removed for derailing.
If you escalate anger or a situation, antagonize or badger the OP of a thread, and if the OP had clearly indicated your comments are unwelcome, you need to stop or else will be given a ban. This applies to doxxing as well. You need to chill the f out. No hate speech or witch hunt are allowed as well. This subreddit will strictly enforce policy prohibiting discrimination, harassment and retaliation against students. No one person or mods can police every comment and we ask your help to report weirdo's, and un-safe and illegal activity. Violation will have you banned.
An account you don't use for regular reddit use is a spam account. You need a minimum of 25 karma points to post on this sub. Automoderator will remove your submission if you don't have enough karma points. You also have to maintain your account activity and account history. You have to have a growing average of your comment karma score. You also have to make comments in other reddit communities. We do not judge or care what you comment upon as long as you are not breaking the rules of other subreddits.
Our students and their parents wants this to be a safe space and prefers to be left alone.
If you have a different opinion, you may post it separately. It's fine to argue and debate, but don't launch pointless Ad Hominem attacks. Violators will be warned and on certain cases could be given upto a 60 day ban.
When you make a submission here in this subreddit, construct a proper sentence / fully qualified title with diction that makes sense or pick a subject that is understood. Posts titled with just one word such as "SDSU" or "Nursing" are terrible choice as titles and such posts will be locked. Post titles must be a descriptive, and searchable using keywords, or will be removed. You are at-least 18. Act like one. This isn't so hard.
Post titled in ALL CAPS are also not allowed and will be locked or deleted. Titles in ALL CAPS IS SHOUTING! It's not appropriate sentence case.
This is an obvious rule. But it seems many students do not understand the academic honor code. At no time you may ask for past, present or future exams, assignments, quiz, or projects. This also includes access to their personal accounts or academic accounts, and passwords. You cannot ask for another students RED ID. Please understand academic honor code. Just because you are not on campus and is on the internet doesn't mean that honor code doesn't apply. If found in violation, your post will be removed and you will be given a warning. This is not just this sub rules. This is an SDSU law. I didn't make them. All US Universities have similar rules.
Such behavior will result in a ban from this sub. Please note that this includes behavior toward moderators. While we welcome constructive feedback and do our best to be responsive, we may not always be able to answer to your liking. We see no reason to require fellow mods to endure attacks, disrespect, or shitty behavior.
No companies/prospective employers shall post here with ads, unpaid "internship" opportunities and solicit our students for free or cheap labor. Our students are poor, and need money, most live on cup noodles. We don't go to Private schools, we are just a state university living bare minimum. We need real internship opportunities, and real jobs, and you shall not exploit them. If there is no pay, don't bother to post at all. Also, if you want to pay less than ideal or the going rate payments because we are "college students", then go look else where. Pay what's fair or get lost.
No posts asking volunteers for "research" purposes and offer money in return including University/Medical research/Drug and Pharma. These includes your 'survey' links. Our students are not your lab rats. UCSD, please pay attention to this rule.
No discussion of illegal activities. This includes underage alcohol, tobacco, and drug use, weapons at school, underage nude photos, and anything else illegal in the State of California, San Diego County, or San Diego City. Feel free to do what you like, but take it elsewhere. Report abusers, suspected psychopaths, information on individuals carrying weapons and other obvious weirdos to campus police.
Violators will be warned or banned when possible. Trolls or egregious violators may be banned without warning.

Do SDSU employees get taxes taken out of their paycheck?
Anyone here enjoy watching MMA. Trying to find some friends to watch the fights with.
Wednesday at like 3:30pm. There was a middle aged woman in the girl's bathroom by the Habit doing lines off of the counter? And yelling at the girls passing by?
Did anyone else?? See that? And do you know if she left?
I tried to call the non emergency line, just because it felt like a safety hazard, not because I wished anything bad on her at all, and they had me on hold for twenty minutes lol. Eventually I lost service and didn't try again.
Hey everyone,
Due to the great response I received on FastClass, I've continued working on the site. Spring 2025 classes are now up on FastClass and there's more updates coming like filtering by campus, Winter 2025 classes, and an updated user interface. The professor reviews should also now be more accurate and up to date.
For those who are freshmen or didn't use FastClass last year, it is a better version of the mySDSU search that's completely free. At a glance, you can:
There's also no loading spinners and it's insanely fast. Finding an easy general education class is notoriously hard on mySDSU, but with FastClass you just click a few filters and you can find one in 30 seconds. Over 5000 students used it last year, and found it incredibly helpful.
You can check it out here: https://www.fastclass.io/
Also, if you all have any feature requests, I'm always looking for suggestions! Thanks!
I’ve been dealing with an ongoing issue at Fifty Twenty-Five Apartments since December, and I want to share my experience so you guys know to avoid this place.
Back in December, a water pipe burst in my apartment, causing severe flooding and mold growth that went unaddressed for over a month. After continually addressing this to management, my roommates and I were relocated to different Airbnbs for over four months. We were told each time it would be a week or so before we could get back in our units, but the constant moves continued. At one Airbnb, I even found dried blood on the sheets, and was offered new sheets instead of a different living situation by the apartments. In one of thev Airbnbs, three of us were placed in a room with a bunkbed and told to share it.
After four months, we were moved into a shared unit on-site, but it wasn’t the same as what I was paying for—it was more like a dorm with no privacy, and the conditions were far worse. I was still paying full rent throughout this whole thing. By the time we finally moved back in, I opened the door to find all of our belongings were thrown across the floor, including our food. Turns out, 5025 decided to remodel our unit while we were out and did not want to put our belongings in storage. As a result, the unit became infested with cockroaches, and our stuff was sprayed with chemicals to get rid of them. We threw away the food because of this.
Management initially offered an insulting $500 for compensation. After pushing back, they recently added another $550. I don't even know what to do at this point lol. Avoid this place at all costs!
Has anyone taken BA323 Fundamentals of Finance, or ACCT325 Interm. Managerial & Tax Acct, online during the Winter semester? Wondering what the workload is for each one and which you'd recommend. Thanks
Anyone know what happened to the jiu jitsu club here at campus? Trying to get back on the mat
Hello everyone,
As the tittle suggests my band is currently looking for a rhythm guitarist/singer, and bass player in the San Diego area to join our band. We’ve been playing for over a year and performed a few times, normally a mixture of originals and covers but we’re moving towards only originals. Our influences could be described as Alice In Chains, soundgarden, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. We generally practice at a pay by the hour studio and split the cost, around 4-6 hours a week.
If interested direct message, and I can send some examples of our stuff.
I was curious to know, are there any India orgs on campus that orgainse programs like for diwali, garba, holi etc? or in general in San Diego
I have never taken a semester off,but I had to skip this Fall semester due to a personal issue. I am still planning to enroll for Spring 2025. I checked my school email, they sent me an email on Sept.30 notifying me that I didn't submit a Leave Of Absence form. I didn't know you had to submit one, so I quickly filled put and submitted the form so they could remove the hold on my enrollment for next semester. Am I screwed? Will I still be able to enroll next semester? 😰
I submitted the LOA form and received and automated reply:
"Your request for a leave of absence has been submitted. Please allow 5-7 business days for your record to be updated. Contact us if you have any further questions. A copy of your submission is below."
Office of the Registrar San Diego State University registrar.sdsu.edu
UPDATE: Office of Registrar emailed back and my LOA was approved 😁
Hey I was wondering if anyone has taken CS 549 with Xiaobai. If so, how much time did you spend each week doing homework and projects. I was planning on taking this along with algorithms, intro to AI, adv programming, and stat 550. How manageable is this? Maybe I should not take adv programming language as it’s a harder class? What are your thoughts?
im gna take acctg 331 next sem and shes one of the professors but there's no rmp rating. ik she's teaching some classes this sem, so i wanted to ask if there's anyone taking her rn to see how she is, thanks!
I graduated in 2022 and my sdsu ID is deactivated. Is there any way to get unofficial transcripts still or do I need to order official transcripts?

if you’re also a commuter student who wants to make new friends or you just want to make new friends then you should reply and we should make a group chat and meet new people ❤️❤️❤️ yay.
Hello do you guys know where i can get a free blue book/ green book ?
Hello! It shows on my sdsu account that I owe 25 dollars for my ID card, I thought our first card is free and if we get a replacement then it costs? I'm not sure if I should pay it or not but I'm confused as to why I'm getting charged for it. Thanks!
Hey everyone,
My ba360 exam tomorrow with brent bolton is tomorrow. Any advice? I know it’s open book open note. Are his quiz questions and hw questions recycled? Should I be focused on what or what should i make sure i write down for notes and stuff?
Hey guys, I might get a lot of downvotes on this because it sounds dumb.
I’m a freshman and I just had a meeting with my coordinated care advisor. I was hoping to take most of my GE’s at a CC (MiraMar) and courses that cater towards my major (Biochem) at SDSU next spring. She said that I cannot take less than 12 units at SDSU in order for me to get financial aid and that I would only be able to take 1 course at CC.
That is until she brought up me taking a Leave of Absence. My spot would be on hold and I would get 4 semesters (so two years) at SDSU and I would be able to take my GE’s at CC. The thing is - she said that CC doesn’t have Chem 200 and the courses required for biochem. It would only have GE’s and the maths I needed to take.
I have many questions about this: is it worth it to take a leave of absence? Would the fafsa be going towards CC instead? I honestly regret going straight into SDSU, but it I can have a secure spot later on, then it wouldn’t be so bad switching to CC.
Hello, I am looking for someone to take over my lease for the Spring 2025 semester. Right now I live on a house 2 streets from campus (5 minute walk). There is 7 other guys living there, but you will have a single and share a kitchen and bathroom with one other person. The house has a pool as well. There is also other rooms available, if you are looking to sublease with a friend. Please contact me if you are interested and I can give you more information.
This class has honestly been so messy from the beginning. The slides themselves look super outdated and unorganized and the number of times the professor has said "I don't know" during her online video lectures... (like why you don't know the material you're lecturing on??)
Not to mention the video lecture audio whenever she plays clips is terrible. Just was wondering if anyone is struggling or even irritated with this class. It has been a month and I have an A but I feel like I've learned nothing from this course.
PLS I NEED ADVICE : (
So long story short, I maxed out my fafsa aid for CC bcos I changed my majors + this is my last semester at CC and hoping to apply this month to colleges but I'm missing one pre requisites for Public Health and SDSU is my #1 school. Can someone give me advice? I was looking to cross enroll to sdsu for the one class I'm missing (PH 292) but that would require me to enroll at my CC for another 6 credits and I just can't afford if. Also looked into other CC that offers the class (PH 292) but the only CC that is offering it may not be offering it in the spring 2025.
Has anyone applied with missing pre requisites and still got in? Has anyone also done cross enrollment at SDSU without taking classes from their CC?
Please I really need help : (
I know they said the bulk of them go out mid-september to mid-october. I haven't heard anything yet but was wondering if anyone has got awarded a scholarship from the general app yet.
Hello I’m freaking out because I was unaware of the deadline to graduate for my undergrad. Is there literally ANY WAY to still petition to graduate?? Can someone please point me in the right direction because I can’t afford an extra semester :(
New grad doc, applying for jobs/match, might as well teach/tutor juniors.
