Read our rules here.
Here are some guidelines and rules. Some or all of these rules extend to our sub:
Be NICE and polite to others. Though you are online and safe behind your computer, you are interacting with human beings here. We want to create a helping, friendly and safe ecosystem where our student community could feel comfortable and encouraged to come ask and answer questions and reply. If you behave belligerent, truculent or combative, unkind or nasty you will be removed or banned. Keep your attitude in check. This forum is an extension of our campus. What you won't say to others in person, you can't say here hiding behind an account. Reddit's usage policy is strongly enforced here. Please read reddiquette. Follow Reddit Content Policy.
This rule was made due to multiple troll and spam accounts. You cannot make an account just for this SDSU. Reddit is the 3rd most visited website on the internet. Joining this sub is privileged-- meaning it takes time and investment to build an account with history and karma. If you don't already have a reddit account, then this subreddit is probably not for you. If you are new to Reddit or r/SDSU, then this is subreddit is not for you. Recently made a new reddit account and wants to come to r/SDSU, then this sub reddit is not yet open to you. We don't allow alt accounts, thowaway accounts, spam accounts, dont-care accounts, one time accounts, karma farming accounts and anonymous accounts. This is a community of students, alumni's, and faculties, and their friends and families and we want to establish trust. An account with no activity outside of /r/SDSU is considered as a throwaway account with no social capital and your submissions will be automatically removed. A new account with no history, no karma is also considered throwaway account. Read the sidebar section, 'Why was my post removed?' before making a submission.
Use this medium for good and meaningful discussions. Try to genuinely relate when you answer. Don't waste other people's time. Comments will be removed for derailing.
If you escalate anger or a situation, antagonize or badger the OP of a thread, and if the OP had clearly indicated your comments are unwelcome, you need to stop or else will be given a ban. This applies to doxxing as well. You need to chill the f out. No hate speech or witch hunt are allowed as well. This subreddit will strictly enforce policy prohibiting discrimination, harassment and retaliation against students. No one person or mods can police every comment and we ask your help to report weirdo's, and un-safe and illegal activity. Violation will have you banned.
An account you don't use for regular reddit use is a spam account. You need a minimum of 25 karma points to post on this sub. Automoderator will remove your submission if you don't have enough karma points. You also have to maintain your account activity and account history. You have to have a growing average of your comment karma score. You also have to make comments in other reddit communities. We do not judge or care what you comment upon as long as you are not breaking the rules of other subreddits.
Our students and their parents wants this to be a safe space and prefers to be left alone.
If you have a different opinion, you may post it separately. It's fine to argue and debate, but don't launch pointless Ad Hominem attacks. Violators will be warned and on certain cases could be given upto a 60 day ban.
When you make a submission here in this subreddit, construct a proper sentence / fully qualified title with diction that makes sense or pick a subject that is understood. Posts titled with just one word such as "SDSU" or "Nursing" are terrible choice as titles and such posts will be locked. Post titles must be a descriptive, and searchable using keywords, or will be removed. You are at-least 18. Act like one. This isn't so hard.
Post titled in ALL CAPS are also not allowed and will be locked or deleted. Titles in ALL CAPS IS SHOUTING! It's not appropriate sentence case.
This is an obvious rule. But it seems many students do not understand the academic honor code. At no time you may ask for past, present or future exams, assignments, quiz, or projects. This also includes access to their personal accounts or academic accounts, and passwords. You cannot ask for another students RED ID. Please understand academic honor code. Just because you are not on campus and is on the internet doesn't mean that honor code doesn't apply. If found in violation, your post will be removed and you will be given a warning. This is not just this sub rules. This is an SDSU law. I didn't make them. All US Universities have similar rules.
Such behavior will result in a ban from this sub. Please note that this includes behavior toward moderators. While we welcome constructive feedback and do our best to be responsive, we may not always be able to answer to your liking. We see no reason to require fellow mods to endure attacks, disrespect, or shitty behavior.
No companies/prospective employers shall post here with ads, unpaid "internship" opportunities and solicit our students for free or cheap labor. Our students are poor, and need money, most live on cup noodles. We don't go to Private schools, we are just a state university living bare minimum. We need real internship opportunities, and real jobs, and you shall not exploit them. If there is no pay, don't bother to post at all. Also, if you want to pay less than ideal or the going rate payments because we are "college students", then go look else where. Pay what's fair or get lost.
No posts asking volunteers for "research" purposes and offer money in return including University/Medical research/Drug and Pharma. These includes your 'survey' links. Our students are not your lab rats. UCSD, please pay attention to this rule.
No discussion of illegal activities. This includes underage alcohol, tobacco, and drug use, weapons at school, underage nude photos, and anything else illegal in the State of California, San Diego County, or San Diego City. Feel free to do what you like, but take it elsewhere. Report abusers, suspected psychopaths, information on individuals carrying weapons and other obvious weirdos to campus police.
Violators will be warned or banned when possible. Trolls or egregious violators may be banned without warning.

They put a hold on my account because I haven't gotten the spring 2025 health insurance yet even though the current one doesn't expire until 19th January. Are they actually this money hungry that they can't wait until the semester is over? Makes no sense
Trying to gauge how many people still havent gotten their Middle Class Scholarship money disbursed before i have to go to the fin aid office. So inconvenient how long this has taken
I’m not a SDSU student but I live in the area and have a math placement test that I desperately need to pass with pretty much no high school math experience. I especially need help with getting down fractions and algebraic fractions, even an elementary level understanding of decimals or percentages. Please send me your rates and available times if you’re interested!!
I currently attend a local CC and am planning to transfer to SDSU for Fall 2026. I am doing the TAG program, and a few of the classes required are not available at my CC or any others in the area so I will have to take them by cross-enrolling at SDSU.
After a quick search, I saw that you are only allowed to cross-enroll in one course and you must be taking 6 units at your home campus when doing so. However, I have organized my schedule so that I will be taking all the classes I need at SDSU during one semester (9 units, 3 classes), for convenience.
Does anyone have any experience or wisdom to share? Would this be possible?
Dear SDSU students,
I’m a new transfer student (M22) at UC San Diego. I love to party, meet people and have a good time but for all the cool things that come with UCSD, rich social environment isn’t necessarily one of them.
I’m in college and trynna have a good time. How do I meet SDSU students to party w? Is your student body accepting of this culturally?
I’m a 23 year old dude with Asperger’s, a bachelor degree from this school and still looking for work, i do uber for now, but i can’t stop feeling lonely and left out.
Everyone around me has a boyfriend or girlfriend but me, I follow the advice of self-care as i used to be overweight in the past and now i’m thin as a stick and go to the gym, But i still can’t get a partner or friend to be with.
Other than self-care, how do you cope feeling like this? Or what advice can you give me to get someone to like me or be friends with me?
Just so you know, I’m not looking for sex, that happens when it has to happen.
Does anyone know the previous passing grade for EE 200 w/ prof. Duy Nguyen?
Thank you!
Hey y'all, mind doing me a huge favor and fill out this survey that my group and I created for our research methods class? It's not a super long survey, about less than 5 minutes, and it's also anonymous.
Here's the link: https://sdsu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eQJyCeOtQkXnq0m
Many thanks!
Hey guys so I’m from LA and I’m transferring to SDSU. I’ve heard about SD being expensive, but I’m just wondering is $875 for a shared room a good deal? I thought it was good considering it includes amenities, utilities, free shuttle, and close to the uni compared to the cost of other places I’ve seen. However, I’m hearing mix emotions about the price.
Hi everyone!
I’m a second-year pre-med student, and will be taking o chem 2, physics, and some more difficult classes next semester 😭. Does anyone on here wanna be friends/study buddies?! Hmu 🤙🩷
Hey everyone. Please feel free to take my survey for my research class. It only takes a few minutes and every response helps a lot and is really appreciated. Thanks :).
Hello! I'm a music student (Piano performance) and I'm looking to collaborate with other departments in projects. For example, a group from an engineering class built a keyboard and was looking for a pianist to play it at their presentation. I think it would a very fun way to have projects done and meet more people at school. Other example is the theater productions looking for musicians.
Let me know if you have any ideas!
Does anyone know why police are blocking the entrances to state?
