SRSGSM is a space for GSMs (Gender and Sexual Minorities- a term meant to be more inclusive than LGBT ). It is a place to exist and to talk about Queer issues without all of the shit that being on reddit usually brings.
This subreddit has an explicitly radical bent, and as such, is meant to provide a more supportive place for those ideas that are categorically dismissed in less radical queer spaces.

Participant Recruitment Post
We are a research team of faculty and graduate students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), and we are interested in improving research in trans health and well-being by studying a salient aspect of many trans people’s lives: gender distress and/or dysphoria. We hope that this study will contribute to the understanding of the health and well-being of trans and gender nonconforming individuals.
This survey reflects stage two of our study. In stage one, we used the same recruitment poster, and all questions in this survey were also in stage one. We ask that if you think you have participated in stage one of this research study, or if you aren’t sure you if you did, that you do not participate in this survey. We encourage all trans and gender non-conforming individuals (who have not already participated in stage one of this study) to participate in stage two of this online study. Your participation is essential to achieving this goal, so we hope that you will take part in our online survey study.
In order to participate, you must:
If you would like to participate in our study, you may click this link:
https://unleducation.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1XO8sIwOSMkSFSJ
If you would like to enter to win a $20 Amazon gift-card, at the end of the survey, you can click a link to a separate Qualtrics survey where you enter your name and email address. For every 15 participants who complete the survey and enter the gift-card lottery, we will randomly choose 1 participant to receive a $20 Amazon gift-card (you have a 1/15 chance of winning a gift-card). Name and email address information provided will not be connected to your original survey results. Participants who win a gift-card will be notified through email and emailed the Amazon gift-card to the email address provided. Name and email information will be stored in the UNL Box Research Data Storage folder system which has special security settings to further secure the data from unauthorized access. Contact information will be deleted at study completion or by January 2022.
Your responses are anonymous and your data will be removed from Qualtrics servers soon after you complete the study. Depending on your privacy settings, the Internet host you are using may track and save user actions. For example, social networking sites may record and maintain information about the sites and pages visited and links activated while within network. It is possible that they may use that information, linked to your identity, for marketing purposes or provide it to third parties. You may access the survey outside of a social networking site by cutting and pasting the link above into a new web page. If you have any questions about this study, please feel free to contact us using the contact information listed below. A list of local and national resources will appear at the end of the survey for anyone interested in additional support. This research study has been approved by the UNL Institutional Review Board.
Please feel free to pass on this message to other individuals who might be interested in participating as well.
Thank you very much in advance for your time!

The sub is a place to come ask questions and get answers from trained sex educators, as well as find new sex ed articles. We're aimed at teens and young adults, but anyone is welcome to come check us out: https://www.reddit.com/r/QueerSexEdForAll/

Hi, all. As part of a research study conducted by Georgetown University graduate students, I am looking for American SGM respondents to take a 15 minute survey on social media, news consumption, and politics. Respondents should be 18+ years of age.
All responses are valued; there are no right or wrong answers. Your responses will be kept confidential and the results will be reported in anonymized aggregate so that no individual answers are identified. Upon completion of the survey, you can enter your email address to take part in a drawing for one of five $25 Visa gift cards.
Thank you so much for your help!
My name is Jonathan Baker, and I am graduate student studying health communication at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I am currently doing a study about what insurance coverage means for Transgender, Genderqueer, and Gender Non-Binary individuals. I’m interested in how providers explain coverage to you, how you discuss insurance with others in your social circles, and what this means for you in terms of healthcare decision making. You do not need to be currently insured to participate in this study. If you choose to participate I will ask you to do two things: a brief demographics survey online, and an interview talking about your experiences. The online survey will ask you questions about your age, ethnicity, gender identity, etc. The interview will take place at a location and time that is most convenient and comfortable for you (e.g. in-person, over the phone, or video chat). Your participation in this study will remain anonymous to all others but the researchers. To participate you have to be at least 19 years old, and identify as Transgender, Genderqueer, or Gender Non-Binary. In total, participating in this study will take approximately 55 to 75 minutes. Feel free to share this post publicly or privately with your social circles, but please refrain from tagging others in these posts to protect their privacy. My email address is jbaker@huskers.unl.edu. Please contact me with any questions you may have.
(for context, i am a trans guy, though i dont know if i’m fully binary. i present in a mix of feminine and masculine ways. a lot of people actually assume im a trans woman.)
i have no idea if im attracted to women. i think im just attracted to masculinity? im not attracted to feminine men, (feminine in a vague sense, i like guys with long hair, and im good w certain types of makeup, but certain things are a dealbreaker to me idfk) and the women im attracted to seem to be mostly the masculine sort, same for nonbinary people... but my concept of gender and attraction is so wild like idfk if im actually attracted to certain types of people or if i just like the way they look? i also dont know how much of it is a “type” and how much of it is sexuality.
honestly my biggest worry is that im just. viewing people wrong? and not respecting their identities? like ive dated a lot of nonbinary people (they’ve always pursued me tho) who have been AFAB but the majority of the time i meet a nonbinary person who is AMAB im not really attracted to them and i think its bc the AFAB enby people ive met have all been pretty masculine? and the fact that i dont find feminine “men” attractive so am i just seeing AMAB enby people as feminine men? or is it that (in broad terms) AFAB enby people tend to style themselves more masc and AMAB enby people tend to style themselves more fem bc they can do that and still look “androgynous”? bc even if i picture a masc AMAB enby person who looks like a cis dude and is totally my type... knowing they identify as nonbinary gives me pause. and to be fair, ive always been more attracted to binary men than any other group.
so im starting to think that the only reason im ok w dating women/enbies is because it makes me feel like a boy? and i like feeling like a boy? but that’s not really attraction? when i picture my ideal relationship it’s not with a woman or an enby person, it’s with a man. that doesnt mean i cant picture myself with an enby person or woman, it’s just harder and not ideal. am i just so desperate for a relationship i like. push myself into “keeping my options open”?
this may seem like nbd but it is to me. im not looking for “it doesnt matter you dont need to know exactly!” bc i WANT to know or at least settle some things.
Apologies if not allowed here. I'm conducting some research into sexuality experiences with those who are attracted to more than one gender. It takes 10-30 minutes to complete. More info and the survey can be found here:

Thanks for your interest! :)
You Are Valid!
You are just as much of a part of the LGBTQ+ community as any other queer person. One day everyone will understand and accept you, but until then know that a lot of us already do!
This goes for anyone under the Ace umbrella, whether demisexual, grey, or anything in between. We love you <3
Was homophobia your main reason, or one of your main reasons, for leaving religion or finding religion difficult to accept?
Apparently, many young people leave religion because of its homophobia - is the homophobia even more objectionable if you are LGBT yourself?
I'm not LGBT but I find the homophobia of religion sickening.
We are seeking adults to complete an online survey about different childhood experiences, particularly those relating to gender. Your participation will help us to develop a new questionnaire. We will also investigate associations between different childhood gender-related experiences and adult sexual orientation, gender identity and mental health. For more details and to take part please visit: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/childgender5
I just started a GoFundMe page for my boyfriend (as a surprise, of course.) I need to at least get him on the right path to feeling a little better about his name and his body. If you could, please leave a small donation here: https://www.gofundme.com/the-rad-project
If you can't, then please, please, please share it around on whatever blogs or other social media that you can. It would mean a lot to both of us.
I'm taking the names of all the people who donated as well as the people who share the page and I'm putting together a little thank-you art piece. I'll be keeping everyone updated over at my tumblr, the-rad-project.
Hello wonderful folks,
I'm a queer artist of color currently living in the bay area (San Francisco, CA). Also, new to the reddit environment (so please be kind).
The art project I'm working on right now focuses on queer and gender non-conforming identified individuals. As a queer identified person myself, I see the lack of diverse stories for this group. My goal is to collect diverse stories and put them in platform where it can be accessible to those who are not familiar with the subject in order for them to gain understanding of the complexity and variety that this term encloses. And at the same time, empowering other individuals who can identify with these stories.
Everyone is welcome to participate (transgender, queer, non-binary, etc.) An knowing that not everyone feels comfortable sharing personal experiences so publicly I give the option to share in whatever media makes you feel more safe. All stories would be credited, unless specified to be left anonymous.
The final project will take the form of a book, where each story will be accompanied by an illustration that represents best the emotions and themes of the narration. (This illustration can also be send back to the authors of the stories if asked in advance). You don't have to be a writer or have any experience with writing stories to share, I just ask for narration of your experience as the individual you identify with and your relation with your community.
Below are some questions that may guide the stories (optional):
Thanks for all those who decide to help out! Really means a lot. If any of this offends anyone or you may think is not appropriate, please let me know asap.
THANKS LOTS AND SENDING LOVE

Would you like to participate in our 10-minute study focused on validating a sexuality questionnaire?
This study has been approved by the University of Calgary Conjoint Faculties Research Ethics Board. This is a validation study of the revised sexuality questionnaire. The questionnaire measures affectional/sexual orientation as well as sexual identity, gender identity, and gender roles. This will include questions about sexual preferences and sexual behaviors toward both males and females in the present and while you were a teenager. You will also be asked to provide your age, biological sex, gender, gender role, year of study, sexual identity, ethnicity, and religious affiliation. You must be 18 years of age or older to participate. This entire study is online, and takes most people about 10 minutes to complete.
Please visit the following link to complete the study: https://ucalgarypsych.co1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_bCNP3z3sPlrTYmF
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact: * Dr. Alderson, principal researcher, at alderson@ucalgary.ca * Or the Conjoint Faculties Research Ethics Board at the University of Calgary, at cfreb@ucalgary.ca If you are curious about the results or any aspects of the study, whether or not you took part in it, please feel free to contact Dr. Alderson at alderson@ucalgary.ca Thanks!!
No one in the community is concerned with your experience in the het dating world.
You're only queer on the basis of your mlm attraction so anything that happens there is not your lgbt community members concerns. Monosexuals don't trust you. Bi men don't want to talk about their experience. You're having a hard time, then tough shit suck it up. Yay for toxic masculinity. I just want to die. I really just want to die.
My family doesn't respect my orientation. Can't wait for trump to make my life hell.
I feel like I'm heading towards a point I'm just gonna explode and fucking kill someone. But there's a lot going in my life.
On top of this my ocd is making me think I'm a pedo/sexually abusive, that I'm going to murder someone, and that I might be trans.
I am a Master's student in Clinical Psychology at Queen's University, and my passion is in conducting inclusive sex research and making sure that LGBTQ* voices are all heard in research. I am currently completing my master's thesis that looks at how different couple constellations negotiate and navigate sexual problems.
#We are currently recruiting participants in intimate romantic relationships who have been dating a minimum of three months for an online study on sexual problems and sexual well-being. We are looking for participants in ALL relationships with any level of sexual satisfaction, with or without sexual problems or concerns. We greatly appreciate everyone who is able to participate and/or able to help us spread the word. Thank you for your help in conducting inclusive sex research!
*****To participate visit: https://surveys.psyc.queensu.ca/SWBR.aspx ~Note: There is also a 'save and exit' button in the survey if you would prefer to complete it over multiple sittings.
Hi queer friends. Just... I'unno. HI!
