Paying for city's sewer fee when the property only have septic tanks ?

Asking for a friend:
Noticed on the Utility Bill sent by Richmond City Hall that had charges for sewer, but our property is a farmland and only have septic tanks, there is nothing on the property that is connected to the city's sewer system. We have to pay a company to pump out the septic tanks when needed.

Has anyone who lived on a farmland contact the City Hall to dispute the sewer charge? As the sewer fee was tied to the amount of water used.

This scooter got stolen from Hugh Boyd, broken chain. If anyone sees it around or for sale, please let the authorities know, or reach out to me. A report has been lifted, school doesn’t have cameras and say they cannot do anything. Thank you!

Best Chinese Restaurant in Richmond (with restrictions)

Hi Richmondites, I'm looking for a great chinese restaurant in Richmond.... but with a bit of a challenge.

I love Xi' a style food, or really anything else that is not HongKong style. Don't get me wrong, I loooovvvvvveeee Guangdong style dishes, but I'm looking for something a bit adventurous like Yunan or the like.

Other conditions: cannot be cash only, and have dishes or set menu's for little old single me. Dinning sad and alone....... lol!

Many thanks!

Looking for relatives of Bruce Fraser

Hi all, A bit of a long shot, but I would like to find any relatives of Bruce Fraser who was a 48 year resident of Richmond and passed away in 2004. I had the privilege of being his neighbour when I was growing up. I'd like to get in touch with any relatives of his. Thanks.

Police Incident

Saba and No 3 Rd. 4-5 RCMP cars for one guy? One cop was chasing him on foot and I’m pretty sure they tasered him. I wonder what happened.

Crash at Granville and number 3

This intersection is terrible. There are crashes here weekly. I’ve seen two pedestrians also get hit here. I’m assuming it was a left turn on a yellow light and somebody ran the yellow going straight.

It’s too cold in the Minoru Community Centre Gym

It’s set to Auto, and locked in a case. The staff can’t control it.

It’s especially uncomfortable in certain areas where the fan is blowing hard.

What’s the temperature set to in other gyms?

The front desk said I’m not the only one who has brought this up and asked me to contact the fitness centre leaders at City of Richmond.

I’m sure they’ve already been told this before, and it seems to me they don’t care.

How do we get them to address this?

Petsville Animal Hospital-please share your experience

Hello everyone,

I have two young cats and am looking to possibly switch vet clinics and was wondering if anyone who goes to or has gone to Petsville Animal Hospital in Steveston can share their experience. I have already read google reviews for them and searched the sub but would like more detailed reviews on them before I officially switch. So far they seem to be the best clinic around the Steveston area based off of google reviews.

Do they ever have any promos for dental cleanings or vaccines? My current vet (Little Paws Animal Clinic) does but it is not a huge deal if they don't.

Thank you!

Kash Heed

I have to give the councilman credit for refusing the 500$+ stipend that is issued to all public officials to attend Metro Vancouver planning meetings. As he pointed out, these meetings are during regular working hours, and he is being paid by his our city to represent us. I know that he has past controversies but this is an action that must be applauded. Brodie is still at the trough as are all the rest of the fat cats.

Looking for someone from my teen years?

*Edited with the right streets

This is a long shot but here goes. I grew up in Steveston Village area, and had a very brief encounter with someone probably around the same age as me, back in 2005 or 2006. I would have been 19 or 20 at the time. I was on the 402 bus very late at night, dark and rainy. I got off the stop at Railway Avenue and Moncton, same as someone else. Well considering it was late at night, dark and rainy you would have thought I'd be scared of this person because they were wearing all dark clothing and goth makeup. I wasn't! I actually asked which way they were walking home because I had an umbrella and they didn't, so I offered to share mine with them until I got home. We went our separate ways when I reached my townhouse complex. The next time I saw them was a few weeks later, during the day and I knew it was them (dark clothing!) and they were walking down the gravel (now asphalt) bike path heading south and I was on the opposite side of Railway walking north. We waved to each other. It was the last I ever came across them.

Almost 20 years later this person randomly comes up in my thoughts and I just hope they're doing well! I knew back then this person was kind-hearted and I'm sure they still are

Non Tesla EV charging stations

Hey everyone, I have a question for non-Tesla EV drivers. Where do you usually charge when you’re heading to Squamish or Whistler? I’ve been looking at the ChargePoint map and don’t see any fast chargers between Vancouver and Pembleton. If I’m staying in Squamish for a couple of days, what charging options do you recommend? Thanks in advance!

My car supports J1772 Type 1 or AC (Level 2) and CCS Type 1 for DC (Level 3).
