Why not 50+? 45+? 40+?
55 seems so arbitrary to me.
Why not 65+ when people retire?
If for peace and quiet, why not just families with no kids?
Edit: why was this tagged as Satire when I wanted a discussion thread?

You make the city a better place and your efforts are appreciated. That goes for parents that dress up for their kids even with all the effort and energy it takes today that you don’t have.
Hi Reddit humans, I experienced a hit and run today (no dash cam unfortunately) - it occurred between 4:30 pm and 5:30pm in the parking lot of RBC. My vehicle is damaged badly. I asked RBC if they have security cameras in the back and they do not. I have contacted Nanaimo Sushi across the street from where this happened and they will check their footage. I will also contact the businesses beside RBC to ask. I know this is a long shot but if anyone was in the area or on Nanaimo St. beside the RBC parking and may have dash cam footage, that would be great, I have included the images here. The driver side door of my vehicle is completely smashed in. I have included a google street view image of the location as well as where my car would have been parked during the hit and run. If anyone knows the best next steps, that would be great.
Thank you!
On Tuesday October 15, around 10:30 am, a retiree in his late 70s (originally from Newfoundland) was crossing an intersection at Comox and Chilco in a motorized wheelchair. A car came around the corner, hit him, and kept going. He's still in the hospital with serious injuries, including a broken pelvis.
No idea if the police will be able to track down the driver, but I sure hope so.
Captured at about 6:00pm, shot on Sony A7IV w/ 35-150mm Tamron. Edited in Lightroom.
Driving from downtown Vancouver to Southbury today and Google says it’s gonna take 90 minutes. Now it is during rush hour, and I don’t normally drive this way during rush hour, so I’m not sure but that seems like a long time. Most other times when I do this drive, it’s 42 minutes
I can’t imagine driving home every day in this and spending 90 minutes doing it lol
To the guy with the turban who dropped his black earbuds on the bus near UBC I gave them to the bus driver so contact translink!!
Just wanna say if that was you in the silver vehicle who drove up behind me way too fast on the ramp from Westminster hwy onto 99, slammed into me, then didn't pull over when we had a shoulder - I wish you a terrible day.
What does everyone think will take the places of Flying Pig and Kona Baby Boutique?
Hi guys! Sorry this was the best picture I could find. My green iphone 13 was stolen on Oct 28 10:30 pm, near BC place and like the intersection of pacific blvd and smithe. It fell out of my pocket and I noticed 30 seconds later, but by the time I went back I saw this guy pick it up and run and I couldn’t chase him. I should probably start doing cardio again. Anyways I put it on lost mode and I don’t think any of my info was compromised. Find My iphone says its been at grand villa casino in burnaby for like 24 hours, and is still there now, but before that it was at some house near commercial drive. Since I bricked it it’s useless and I’m hoping the thief will return it out of the goodness of his heart. I have moved on to the last stage of grief, acceptance, but if you see it please let me know. Thankfully all my photos are backed up but the phone itself has a lot of sentimental value and I really do not want to fork out 1000 dollars for a new one
