Sob story about traffic impacts to this guys property and then proposes that making it industrial and having truck parking would improve things! Councillor Bailey pointed that one out! Opportunism denied!

Can anyone recommend a good brand of surveillance cameras that aren’t crazy expensive? We had a couple of vehicles ransacked over the weekend and when it was reported to the RCMP that was the first thing they asked was if we have cameras.
Apparently, 10+ tenants and employees of corporations owned by Eric Woodward gave substantial donations to his 2018 council campaign: https://langleymonitor.com/2024/11/28/tip-your-landlord-or-boss-eric-woodwards-unorthodox-campaign-donors/
Important to note that there isn't necessarily anything shady about this - but it is unusual. Donors to council campaigns don't get tax receipts so usually it's wealthy people donating. Of course, it would be easy to violate the campaign spending cap by reimbursing tenants/employees, though the blog post doesn't note evidence of that.
We line up LED lights along the deck rails and every single year they break. Sometimes don’t even make it through the season
But we have some on the roof that are mostly shielded from rain and for 3 years now they didn’t break.
What gives? Is the rain itself doing that much damage? Back in AB we had -30 and they’d last several years.
Can you suggest any good brands that last or lights that are nice and bright and don’t give that weak led glow that hurts your eyes. Many neighbour have warm incandescent-like bulbs but I know they must be LED and been lasting a while
Anyone else going absolutely insane from the pile driving that’s been happening the last couple days? It’s not even right beside where I live and it’s insanely loud and obnoxious. I can’t imagine being right beside it. How is this legal? It started at 9 am yesterday and was consistent all day. Thought for the weekend we would get some relief but nope. Anyone know the noise restriction times? Or are they just allowed to assault our ears at any time they like and for as long as they like? This shit should be illegal 😐 there’s gotta be some other way to get the job done that doesn’t involve deafening anyone within a 10 block radius.
If you’re driving around with your ghost trailer mirrors sticking out, fold them in when you park.
Looking at you, F150 at MEC who backed into a tight spot and blocked my driver side door because your mirror was almost touching it.
Who raised you, anyways?
It's going to drive me crazy. Thats all. I hope everyones having a good weekend. I'm going to spend mine in sound canceling ear plugs and playing video games 🍑💨
Property management is telling us we are 100% responsible for emergency call out fees for damage done to our condo building/strata lot. We were not responsible for the damage, but they’re asking us to pay $10k in emergency services. Please help.
Hi everyone I am an owner in a condo dealing with to continuous noise disturbances from the unit above me that moved 2 months after I moved in this year. Before anyone comes at me as “this is expected” “kids make noise” etc., let me explain how the noise is constant for hours until 2-3am in the morning.
I have even had council members observed the noise from my unit. I was also notified that other units have had a similar experience with these loud neighbors. There is constant running, jumping, loud thuds and banging coming from these tenants. I hear that their landlord is protective of them too.
To put things in perspective, our current property manager has made it increasingly difficult for council members to put a firm hand on these tenants. He has suggested that the noise needs to be gun smokingly bad to be considered a bylaw infraction, and has stated that I will one day get complaints too (having a child). Council members have shared that they all agree that the tenants above us are in breach of bylaws and are causing a disturbance breaching our right to quiet enjoyment, however, they seem to be struggling with putting a firm hand on these tenants and their owner.
To top it all off, the tenants have expressed retaliatory behavior towards us such as smashing and pounding above our bedroom ceiling early in the morning and close to midnight. Glares and following in and outside of the building.
How is this acceptable? Why is it so difficult for council to address this more firmly? Is this due to our property manager’s bogus advice?
We have sent in daily logs, recordings and have had people observe our unit weekly for months. I don’t understand. We are now forced into selling our home and it hasn’t even been a year yet. We’re in a miserable situation and just want out.
just wanting to study for 3-4 hours in a cafe or somewhere chill on sat afternoon until I have somewhere in the evening to go to
So a few weeks ago, I came home to my front lawn looking like someone took a pick axe and hit every square foot of my front lawn.
I checked out my cameras and it seems like it started with a family of raccoons digging, where they didnt do too much damage, but another instance where a bunch of crows came and started pecking at our lawn… that was the culprit!
Some of my neighbours were also hit by the crows and their lawn looks ridiculous now, as do ours.
Anyone know how to deter these wildlife from destroying my lawn? There are other lawns in my neighbourhood that seem untouched..
