I will be moving to the area around Jan 2021 due to work & will need to rent a place for awhile for my family. Besides craigslist, what are the best ways to find rentals. I won't be able to make the trip before we move.
Thanks!
Hello! I’m looking at possibly moving to your town (city?). Based on what I’ve read a bit on Reddit and around the internet, it sounds like a nice place to live and I have my eye on a fixer-upper a few blocks inland.
The big question I can’t seem to find info on is about internet providers. I work work from home (even before COVID) all online and really all of entertainment is online. Like a lot of places I’m sure there are not a ton of options, but even Xfinity can’t seem to tell me what would be available at the address.
So, what providers are there and what speeds have you seen or have? It seems a bit petty, but bad internet is a bit of a deal breaker for me.
Thanks in advance!
I currently have a Gyarados stationed at the Hatfield Marine Science Center gym. I am in team valor, my username is GoudaCheesehead. Could someone defeat the gyarados so that it can return to me?
I will Venmo you some money if you want, I really just want my Gyarados back lol
Are you allowed to walk on the docks and pier and start crabbing? Due to covid of course.
Hi guys
Here from out of town and we are going on a boat tour tomorrow. My dumbass forgot to pack a jacket and I imagine it will be, um, chilly on the Pacific ocean at 9am. Looks like the goodwill is closed - any advice on a place i could buy a cheap jacket before getting on a boat tomorrow morning? We're actually staying in Florence and will be driving up tomorrow.
Thanks! Freezing due to lack of foresight
ye
I'm looking for someone who I lost connections with. He left home (Wyoming) to go to Oregon Coast Community College in 2017 or 18. From my calculations, he arrived there in August, 2018. But this could be wrong. Seth was staying with a woman, who presumably had a child. He was 17, but turned 18 in the fall. He only went for a semester, and maybe a little longer. Then he told me he was leaving. I only knew Seth online, he was my best friend. Is anyone willing to either put up signs on community bulletin boards, or ask around at OCCC. I could pay for prints and mail them to you. I know that's a BIG question to ask. maybe someone has information, any information that might be helpful? I also have a picture of him, and someone nearby might be able to distinguish the exact location? I am not a stalker or a creep, I'm just a teenage girl who wants to know if someone she loves is dead or alive. Simple as that.
Hey everyone, been thinking about moving to the coast for a while now. I'm a Multnomah county native and currently fed up with the Portland greater metro area.
I work as an aviation mechanic right now but I have experience in automotive and diesel as well.
Honestly I'm looking to get into anything within my skillset which is mostly blue collar (I even fished albacore tuna commercially for a season back when I was in my young twenties) so I'm pretty versatile.
I just got married last weekend and my wife and I are looking for a change of pace and an actual chance to own a home in a small slower place.
Any suggestions for job ideas would be great and also the best areas to live would be nice as well.
My GF and I are wanting to learn to sail, were a young couple just starting we both really want to sail to world as a journey not a destination but we have to learn whatever the local community can help with let us know!
Plus I think it would be cool to further establish Newport as a yachty hub for learning.
Long story short I fish in local lakes around my home but I don't have and salt water rod and reels to fish of the dock. Are there any places to rent poles similar to how one would rent crab pots.
Hi Everyone! I am recently graduated Registered Nurse who is preparing to move to the Newport/Lincoln City area and wondering what its like to live in Lincoln County and any advice as to what to expect/things to know before making the jump! Any and everything helps!
Hey all! I am bringing my family to Newport for a week and I have a quick question for y’all. On family vacations I need a bit of “me time” on occasions and I happen to love biking, but I don’t know which kind to bring - road, mountain, gravel? I want to be respectful of your town/area, so any insight would be appreciated.
Some googling shows that there may be some animosity about road riders in the general area, is that just my happening on a few articles, or is it just not really culturally accepted?
Additionally, it seems on Trailforks there aren’t a lot of mountain biking trails, is this the case?
Finally, are there many wooded gravel roads to explore? How busy are the roads/will I get run off by logging trucks?
Also, what other things should I absolutely take
Will be in Newport, OR April 4th -7th and am shooting locations that have a sci-fi aesthetic/vibe going on.
What places/locations can you think of in and around Newport?
A buddy of mine was just talking to me about his trip to Newport, and one of the things he mentioned stuck with me. Apparently he had a hell of a time finding places that would or even could take his debit card. Not that they only took ones with the chip, or didn't take chipped cards, they just... didn't. Is this a Newport thing? An Oregon thing? We're from Spokane and would be hard-pressed to name a place that doesn't take cards.
That said, I'm totally open to the idea that he may have been exaggerating, so I'm looking forward to your answers.
Hello Newport! My buddies and I will be in y’all’s neck of the woods for a bachelor party in late summer/early fall of next year. We’re pretty typical aging millennials: early thirties, into good food, craft beer, whiskey, etc. We’re definitely interested in fishing and the dispensaries, but outside that we don’t have a lot of ideas. We’re looking for laser tag, theme parks, and other fun goofy stuff to do. Also, we definitely won’t be doing any kind of strip club type stuff. Just not really our scene. Thanks in advance for suggestions!
My wife and I will be visiting Oregon again in a couple of weeks and will be celebrating our 20th anniversary. We live in Alberta and love to travel.
We are very excited to return to the area and this has been one of our favourite places to travel. We’ve travelled the 101 a few times, but usually on a motorcycle and on a bit of a budget. For this visit, we have rented a car out of Portland, a beachfront condo in Newport for the week, and I’d like to mark the occasion with something a bit more special.
I’d like to book a reservation for great meal to celebrate the occasion. We both love pretty much every kind of food so I’m looking for a few suggestions to have a special meal in the area. A bit of a drive would be fine too.
What are some of the best places in and around Newport that you might suggest?
My SO and I I will be visiting Newport in a couple weeks. Any suggestions on can't miss places or local favorites?
