Lost my job of 7 years a few months ago, haven't been able to bounce back very well and unemployment keeps finding reasons to deny me money. I feel like I'd do pretty good in a dispensary environment.
As someone who used to routinely speeds on the freeway, I cannot fathom why someone feels the need to drive like a bat out of hell in residential neighborhoods. Other than a medical emergency, what are people in such a hurry to do? This doesn't even take into account the insanity in parking lots like WinCo, Costco, Walmart, etc. People texting while driving, etc.
Is texting someone more important than driving? 😂
And these are drivers that are going entirely wayyy to fast to slow down for kids, the elderly, and just anyone crossing the street in the middle of the day.
I just seem to be noticing it more and more recently. I honestly don't understand what is so damn urgent .
Anyone on here know of any good shops that have good prices on mods? I know I can call around if I wanted to but I figured I’d just ask around 1st . Don’t need nothing fancy just a simple starter set up is good.
My partner and I like to try something new for Halloween every year in an attempt to find that sense of excitement we used to have as kids. The reason for this is that as adults, our senses of the “fear factor” of Halloween, scary movies, haunted houses etc. have been dulled. For example, last year during Halloween weekend instead of going to a party or watching scary movies at home, we went to a Dungeons and Dragons campaign hosted by my cousin. While that event was fun, it was very awkward as we found out after getting there that my cousin had been having an emotional affair with one of the women that attended these events and his wife had just recently found out.
So this year we decided to try a new restaurant. We had heard of The Easy Otter but we didn’t know it was a restaurant. We thought it was one of those places that trick you into thinking it is a restaurant but ends up being a home goods store like The Fussy Duck on commercial. We looked up the menu and reviews online and liked what we saw then headed over for dinner.
The interior had a southern charm with an eclectic, maximalist story book vibe that looked to be carefully planned out by my aunt who has an obsession with French bulldogs (not the mother of the cousin mentioned above) but instead, otters. We really enjoyed this design, especially the upside-down parasols that acted as chandeliers; I am assuming they added that touch since we are in the PNW.
My partner ordered the Mac’s Famous Mac & Cheese, I ordered the Hey, What Happened? And we also ordered the Berry White Beignets which I mispronounced terribly as “Bang-Nets”. The worker taking our order was super nice and friendly and didn’t seem to be bothered by my horrible mispronunciation as I am sure I am not the first person to do so.
The wait before we were greeted with a feast that made my partner smile for the first time that day was relatively short. The plating was great and the smell was even greater. I immediately started in on the fries which were perfectly made. If someone from Wayback Burger is reading this review, please go ask someone at The Easy Otter to show you how to make fries properly.
My sandwich was the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. I typically don’t like pickles and was planning on taking them off, but when I try something new, I like to try a bite with everything that is on it. These pickles were different though, I ended up leaving them on my sandwich. The chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The coleslaw was fresh and added a great texture to the sandwich. I think I ended up looking at the cross section of my sandwich more than I had made eye contact with my partner that night. I forgot to ask her how her Mac and Cheese was until we got home but she said it was great.
This was my first time trying Beignets (I am still mispronouncing it as I type this out) and they were great. We typically don’t order desert since we follow a pretty strict diet most days of the week. But we decided that if we were going to cheat on something, it would be our diet or charades; and not each other. The best way to describe Beignets is that they are basically Texas Roadhouse rolls in a desert form.
All in all, this was a great restaurant with great food and great service. The Underhill score for The Easy Otter is an easy 5/5.
I've been looking for a place to just sit in a hottub for an hour or so. Bonus If there is a sauna and cold showers too. Does anything like this exist closer than Portland or Eugene?
As a parent I am begging you to vote. It is especially important to vote if you are in the house districts 19, 20, 21, and 22. All of them are important races! At this point if you haven’t mailed your ballot, be sure to drop it at an official drop box location. And if you didn’t get a ballot, go to the Marion county clerks office and get a replacement or provisional ballot. Please for the love of God, vote! Our future and our kids futures depend on it!
Hi everyone! I am a first time voter, ( I’m 26 and became a U.S. citizen 3 years ago) and I’m so confused on how everything works, so please be nice! It seems like other states do it differently than Oregon. I’m confused on how it works in Salem specifically, I’m already registered to vote, so I’m not worried about that, but I have a couple of questions, but has early voting started here? Is voting done in person? Might be a silly question but everytime I search up voting locations near me, it only gives me locations to drop off my ballot? If someone can please explain it to me like how they’d explain it to a 5 year old that would be really helpful! Thank you everyone!
Did anyone else catch this morning's double/triple rainbow? Unsure which designation to give it. Live in South, was looking North. Had the typical rainbow arch, then a second identical copy that butted its red right into the original's purple, and a second inverted arch farther out. What was strange is, as the coulds shifted, the close duplicated was brighter but faded easier, but the far duplicate was faint yet consistent. Also interested that where the two identical copies met, it looked pink. I guess that's why some rainbows have pink stripes added in some paintings.
I moved away and can’t find any good teriyaki. Been craving luv luvs and at this point feel I need to try to recreate it.
Has anyone tried copying it? Any tips on recipe?
Our power is out and would like to know why
Hour four of this Cocomelon classic is playing from the outdoor speakers.
Rumor has it, some aggressive and unfriendly campers were making it hard for a.m. baristas to open, so I believe this is one of the modern solutions I keep hearing about.
However, I'm kinda vibing to this song. Lowkey bumps.
Regardless, if you want free DJ services for the whole family, Bentleys Coffee is lit rn.
My children and I have become so distant from our Persian heritage. I'm 39, they're 10, 6, and 4. Any suggestions?
In town, who does the best nail design? I'm looking for long lasting, ornate, super duper fancy nails with all sorts of bells and whistles. I don't care about the experience. No massaging or paraffin wax treatments necessary. $70 range. It's for my daughter. I took her to an inexpensive place last time. Never again. Thanks, guys!
I have a love for graffiti and I love taking pictures of it with my camera it gives a cool 90s style camera affect and much more and I love it but out of curiosity is there any good graffiti anywhere in Salem worth taking photos of I let me know :)
Pretty sure Costco was hell on Earth today. Lines backed up thru the front snack aisles and overflowing from there.
Never seen it like this on Sunday when I usually go, is this normal or just because of the Holiday sale circular that started yesterday?
I seriously thought about just leaving before I even found a parking spot!
Anyone else have their fence kicked down over Halloween? NE Salem.
Their last day open for the season and they are handing out free soft serve ice cream. It’s the little fruit stand on the highway across from the Pentacle theater on the way to Independence. Closes at 5
Any recommendations for a good place for maintenance on a 2022 Audi? With the closest dealer in Wilsonville, would like to find a good place local.

Just drove by Lancaster, there's 10 to 15 police cars all with their sirens on blocking the road. Anyone know why?
I recently finished a huge crochet project I'd been working on for 6 months and I want to get all dressed up and take photos. Where's somewhere within reasonable driving distance (even better outdoors) that would make a good matching scenery? It's a big ol corset back dress with a hoop skirt so I'd like to avoid having to navigate right spaces.
Thought it was a memorial walk or something near the state hospital, but the line just kept going and going, at least 100 people
Wanted to buy some to put in food pantries around town for kiddos who didn’t get to trick or treat
