Seeing reactions saying this means it’s definitely Emory or Luke and praying that they’re good. Can everyone calm down? Is there a chance that either guy is the QB next year? Yeah. But to act like it’s pre determined because UM missed out on Mateer is silly. At this point last year we thought the QB from Albany was UM’s QB “get” from the portal. There’s a lot of time left and a few QBs left.
Well we might as well roll with Williams or Nickle at this point.
Our best offensive players are all gone.
Our special teams and d stinks.
Just rebuild.
We will lose a lot more next year.
Mario isn't going anywhere anyway so just rebuild it.
Cam covered up so much and saved us. You won't find another Cam at this point. Mateer was long shot and we missed.
It's been tough stinking for so long but we will stink next year. Back to reality.
How do we keep missing on all these big players? First Mateer, now that Rivers kid from FIU is going to GT of all damn places. Wtf man.
Our options are:
Emory Williams Transfer Luke Nickels
We know Luke Nickels won’t start as a true freshman so really our two main options are either Emory or to transfer somebody in.
It is obvious that most fans would rather get a solid transfer in like Mateer or someone over letting Emory start. Why is that? He almost reminds me of the middle child that gets forgotten.
Everybody is hyping up Luke Nickels who’s a great prospect but has a high school profile very similar to Emory’s. Emory is bigger but they’re both ranked the same and had pretty similar high school stats.
Knowing this, what makes you guys think Luke will turn out any differently than Emory? I think Emory is developing very well and I can assume that simply by judging him off his performance against FSU as a true freshman, straight dawg mindset.
If there’s anybody I trust running our offense right now it’s Emory. He sat behind the best Quarterback in college football and competed for a back up spot against one of the best FCS quarterbacks in CFB. I do think he really needs to work on his footwork. Watching his highlights, he makes good decisions and has the arm talent to make the throws but he’s slower when it comes to reading defenses and making decisions. You can see a receiver being open for a few seconds and Emory staring at the receiver but not getting the ball out in time and waiting until a defender is closing in on them. I really hope this is something they’ve been working on because the kid has the arm talent but is just sluggish in the pocket. He needs to start learning how to be getting the ball out once the receiver hits their break. It isnt high school ball anymore and your arm talent won’t make up for everything else.
He’s stuck with us since day one and I think if he doesn’t get his chance now he might transfer out for his senior year in search for an opportunity where he knows he’ll be a starter.
Maybe I’m overthinking things but I really just want to see what this kid can do on the field for us.
Sitting here watching the 5A State Championship game in GA. This cat might play early at the []_[] !!
I’m trying to understand why they offer season tickets if, when I try to get on the website, there’s no availability, and on top of that, it doesn’t work properly. We’re coming off a good season, and this is how they try to get people on board? Is it even worth trying to get tickets for all the games, or should I just buy them one by one? Thanks a lot!
Go Canes! 🧡💚
The 2001 Miami was so dominant that even if the offense scored zero touchdowns the entire season, they would still have gone 8-4.
The offense scored 50 TDs, and they went 12 & 0.
Long time Canes fan from the northeast. I just attended my first football game vs Wake this season. I’m glad I got to see a win during a rough patch.
Aside from that, I noticed Sebastian does a celebration in the redzone after a score and I could not make out what the fan chant was at the end of it. It’s not something I see on TV and I was sitting upper deck, so I was unable to understand what was being said. Can someone help me out?
Was the NIL bag that much bigger? Did he maybe just want to compete at a top tier program like Georgia? I can’t imagine Georgias NIL deal for a 3rd string receiver was better than Miamis as a starter.
Just don’t know where else to post this. Idgaf about the portal or recruits rn. Nor the heisman. Nor kinda getting screwed by cfp.
I still just can’t believe that we lost the game against cuse. I’m just still so miffed.
We needed a Miami team to step up one time. For the sake of the past 20 years. And we just couldn’t do it. Even with all there was in the line. I don’t even know how to recover my fanhood atm.
Anyway, rant over.
Thoughts?
That’s more like it. Back in the win column.
Frontcourt each had 20. Lynn a double double in the first half.
Back in the Gables on Saturday for Mt. St. Mary’s. See you then.
Go Canes.
Open conference season with a win.
Haley with a 22–11-5 double double. Filling up the sheet.
Jasmyne had 19 and Nat had 11.
In Hawaii for the Maui Classic on Friday the 20th against Nevada.
Go Canes.
