Is pooping 4 to 5 times a day normal? Am I dying? I am over constantly buying toilet paper

I go days where I poop once and then some days I poop 4 or 5 times and always feel like I am wiping foreverrrrr. What could this mean? Should I see a doctor? I have had this issue for about a year and it started when I moved to a new city.

My mom consumed some homeopathic medicine and is now experiencing stomach pain. Can someone tell me if these ingredients are safe?

My mom doesn't trust science or medicine and often goes for the "alternative medicine" route. We disagree on this issue alot. Today she contacted me because she feels sick with an upset stomach after consuming three drops of this oil she bought from a "professional" I don't trust.

it has no name on the bottle. But here are the list of ingredients. I did some googling and one of them brought up results about poisonous hemlock. I will admit I am way out of my element here. I need advice from someone who actually knows what these ingredients are. Is this stuff safe to consume?

How to dress a very painful necrotic wound with lots of discharge?

I have a wound with some black, dry necrosis but other parts are leaking a lot of discharge so I'm soaking through dressings in a few hours. There are no signs of infection or anything and I got the wound checked by a doctor but they refused to tell me how to dress it. What type of dressing would be best for this very leaky but necrotic wound?

I have access to a bunch of different dressing types I just don't know what would be the best for this wound. My immediate thought is that I want to keep it dry and use a dressing that allows moisture to be absorbed and held away from the wound but I'm not sure. Also how often do I want to change the dressing and check on the wound? It's extremely painful so I'd like to mess with it as little as possible.

19M Frenelum breve but a lot more complicated I think, maybe phimosis

Hello

So I've had phimosis since I can remember, recently I got a girlfriend so I'm obviously trying to fix this.

I've always been able to pull my foreskin down pretty easily when I'm flaccid, there's basically 0 pain apart if it's right when I wake up and the penis is super dry, otherwise even if a little bit wet or with just a touch of water there's 0 friction, now, when erect I think I'd be able to pull it down easily aswell but my frenelum is completely f'd up, I think it's pulling to the left because of years of jerking off in a certain way.

Here are the pictures

https://www.imghippo.com/i/HcAE4013Rsk.png : As you see head from the right side completely visible while left side si covered, due to the frenelum being entirely on the left side

https://www.imghippo.com/i/OQW1043RH.png : From the left side, as you see the frenelum's pathing is very weird and entirely on the left side, it makes it uncomfortable to pull down the and hurts.

https://www.imghippo.com/i/eApz2849f.png : This is me twisting the skin to make the frenelum centered, this is very uncomfortable and hurts.

https://www.imghippo.com/i/NE6692vGU.png : Better view of the frenelum's pathing, it's worse when it's erect.

As you can see, my frenelum is way more to the left than down the middle as it should be, it hurts so I don't know how I could have sex, I've tried stretching it, maybe I'd need to be more patient - basically every time I piss I stretch it, and before sleep - but have been kind of inconsistent with that.

But I think the problem is with the general "pathing" that my frenelum takes, as you can see it's way more left than it's suppossed to be, which makes it uncomfortable as heck, and makes any pull down of the skin uncomfortable because the frenelum makes it travel so weird.

What should I do? I'm thinking about removing my frenelum but have heard of bed experiences. I'm 19M.

For years I thought I had phimosis, but it seems it's more of a frenelum breve problem, because I have no "hourglass" shape that happens when the skin is tight, or atleast not to the extent that I shouldn't be able to retract it while erect, and while pulling it down the uncomfortableness and pain is almost entirely centered on the frenelum.

Complications with my catheter ablation procedure- Second surgery complications

F21 Height 5’6 Weight 165 lbs

This is kinda going to be long so I am so sorry in advance. I had recently just got a catheter ablation procedure done for my SVT (Supraventricular tachycardia) a couple days ago. I was put under conscious sedation- during most of the procedure I was asleep but woke up several times feeling loopy but still aware of what was going on. The whole procedure went pretty smooth until the very end of the procedure. At the end of the procedure I started waking up due to extreme pain from the surgical nurse pulling out the catheters. They did one incision on my right leg and had 5 catheters going in. I remember crying and saying “ouch owwww owww” It was genuinely one of the most painful feelings i’ve ever experienced in my whole life. I understand they have to put pressure on the incision and pull the catheters out but I swear it felt like the worst thing ever I thought my insides were being ripped out of me. While getting them pulled out i heard the nurse go “Oh No!” or something along the lines of “Oops” and then calling over the head surgeon to come help her. This is where everything went wrong. One of the catheters broke off inside of my vein as she was pulling them out. I wasn’t aware what was going on until after i was taken out of the OR room- and back into post OP. WHERE I found out they had to call in the trauma and foreign objects surgeon to come in and take me into second surgery to remove the broken catheter. When I tell you i could FEEL this catheter broken off inside me- it was literally so painful. It felt like it was a knife stabbing into my groin/ vaginal area. A nurse came in to give me Morphine and as I sat there for about an hour and a half waiting for the surgeon to come in. Even the morphine didn’t take the pain away. This left me to being at the hospital for another 4 hours and having had two surgeries in one day. I also instead of having a tiny incision from the ablation- I have a 3 inch incision on the crease of my vagina. The healing process has been absolutely horrible as I can’t walk and it’s extremely painful. I’ve also had a bunch of weird post surgery issues. My vagina is extremely swollen inside and bleeding chunky blood. My entire abdomen and area around my ovaries is bruised and swollen. What should I do about this? I’m honestly just really upset that I had to get the second procedure done and I almost feel like it could’ve been avoided. Is this malpractice? My main surgeon had said in his 30 years of performing this surgery he had never seen anything like this before. What should I do in this situation? make a complaint to the hospital? If anyone has any ideas or advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Been having unexplained chronic leg pain for a year and a half, any suggestions?

Hello Reddit, I have officially become desperate and will be posting this anywhere I can think of. I just need that one person to find this and figure out what is wrong with me.

I am an 18-year-old female with unexplainable chronic leg pain. It is 2 muscles in my right upper calf, right below the back of my knee, and down towards my mid-calf. My pain started in June 2023. A year and a half later all I get are shrugs from my doctor. It is a dull aching pain that gets worse with movement. Standing, sitting, driving, and walking are my worst enemies. My legs being laid flat is the only relief I get, and even then there is still a slight ache. I have tried the typical things people would think of. Resting for a week straight, nothing. Being active for a week straight, doubled the pain. Physical and physio therapy? Made it worse. Ultrasound, X-ray, MRI, and bloodwork, no outstanding results. Compression socks give me slight temporary relief, but never longer than a few hours. Knee brace, patella strap, chiropractor, still nothing. I even got a bunion surgery on the same side in October 2024 and the pain went from just one muscle to two. I have tried adjusting my walking to consciously make sure I am stepping evenly, but still nothing.

I have racked my brain, and phone for possible causes. There is truly nothing I can conclude. I was a gymnast for 10 years, but I had stopped a year before this. Never had an outstanding accident or injury then either. I worked out occasionally (1-2x a week), but now never because of the pain. In June 2023 I did nothing either. I never had that stand out “Oh I did x which is causing slight leg pain, but no big deal.” Nothing in the slightest, I just remember my leg aching one day, asking my dad to massage it with temporary relief. We went on vacation a few days later and the pain became unbearable due to the constant walking it's just been like that since.

If anyone has absolutely anything to suggest please do, I am missing out on crucial moments in my life because I choose to stay home from fear of pain. I feel trapped in my body. Anything and everything I do is just pain. I have genuinely fallen into a deep depression. My room is a mess, I am a mess, I don’t leave the house, I quit my job, I have no friends. I just want to walk pain-free again. Everyone around me treats it like it's my fault “try this, try that”, but no matter what I do I always know I’ll wake up day after day in pain. I will answer any questions. Thank you in advance.

(I'm 20 years old) Theese dots appeared on my hand. Can somebody help me to figure it out what is this?

So first of all Im 20 years old!

Well, half a year ago these dots appeared on my finger... They are about 1mm in size and they don't want to go away. they look like blisters with a whitish liquid content. a 1.5 mm white dot also appeared on my penis about 1 month before this. I know that I had a red fungal infection on my penis about 1 year ago, which unfortunately could not be treated. This case appeared half a year after the fungal symptoms. There are 2 dots on my finger and on my penis. I don't know how they have anything to do with each other, nor what could be the root cause. Chances are I got something after sex.. Can anyone suggest what to do?

Ant his photo is from my finger!

Docs/MEs/Exit Folks: Have you seen a fatal milk reaction? Is this a real public health crisis?

Two recent product recalls have raised questions about the potential for a fatal allergy to cow's milk. We remember 9/11 and mostly have/had ovaries. Destroying chocolate and butter during inflation is quite a scandal. [This is why my karma is negative, I laugh about the stereotypes and people think I'm being a bully. I try to be factual, again IATA. I ask my own team and I get new socks.]

So, the question was "Have you ever personally seen a milk-related death?" Of course we had additional caveats like "Other than dehydration in NICU babies, accidents on dairy farms..." Though many have lactose intolerant friends/family none of us know anyone who actually had anaphylaxis from milk and many of us have CMC/zebra/NORD type families.

My patient education has been "... anything can be toxic depending on the concentration, you can develop an allergy at any time, nothing is universally safe... Except Narcan..."

What has been your real life experience? If you can add some obvious sarcasm to convince my aunt it's not AI, that would be ideal, so I will pose this as a fictive question. If I were to die from anaphylaxis, would someone figure out it's milk or just call it cardiac arrest?

getting hives/bumps on skin for no apparent reason... never happened before

basically what the title says! i did get bed bug bites when i went on vacation a few months ago, and some of the bumps are appearing in a similar area (legs). the actual bed bug bites went away a while ago. i did get this cluster of bumps (maybe hives??) on my back, an area that didn't get bitten. i used to self harm on that area, but i haven't in a year so idk if that's related.

the bumps lasted for a few days and was really itchy, but it has healed; there's a purplish-red mark left behind. this has really been bothering me, as I've always had pretty smooth skin (everywhere besides my face).

I've also had to use the bathroom a LOT more than usual ever since the bumps started appearing. like, as in needing to poop after eating, or needing to poop 2-3 (sometimes more) times per day. I've always had irregular bowel movements, but it was more of like constipation.

this whole thing has been going on for the past month.

Can cirrhosis caused by non-alcoholic fatty liver disease be reversed?

My father 67 yo white male was diagnosed with cirrhosis. His medical hx was unremarkable… until it wasn’t in October 2024. He thought he pulled a muscle in his stomach and he was having extreme SOB. I thought he was starting to have a heart attack and finally convinced him to go to the hospital. The hospital did an US of his abd and saw probably cirrhotic liver and a pericardial effusion. Upon further investigation he had over 550ml of fluid collected around his heart and was put in the ICU with a drain because he was starting to show signs of tamponade but luckily everything went well, the fluid was drained and he was downgraded to MS and eventually discharged home. His LFTs were never really that bad aside from his bilirubin which was still not crazy elevated but he did have orange/tea urine and actually all of his labs resolved at the hospital with out him being treated with medications. He didn’t get fluids or anything. Only one dose of lasix and then a little bit of sedation for the paracentesis. Now, he is on lasix, xerelto bid, metoprolol bid, metformin bid, and they want to start a statin. He had a fibroscan done which showed: “The median liver stiffness was 26.1 kPa with IQR/Median percentage of 6%. The measure CAP ultrasound attenuation rate value was 100 dB/m.” My parents chose to defer the liver biopsy because they didn’t feel like it was needed since the diagnosis was still cirrhosis (he was also freaked out that they wanted to go through his jugular). My dad doesn’t drink besides a couple beers on a Friday with friends once a month to play cards- he has stopped drinking since the dx- but this was caused by untreated fatty liver disease. My parents never would go to the doctor and I would beg and beg. Now I’m so upset because the FLD could have been caught years ago before it progressed to cirrhosis. He feels decent but definitely has some ascites. Vitals are good. Never had issues with BP. He gets around good. Eats decent- he has made big improvements with his diet since the dx.

Is there ANYTHING that can help reverse cirrhosis? New medications? Rezdiffera? What if I was a match and gave him some of my liver (or someone else)? Anything?!

I’m a registered nurse and I know this is probably a rhetorical question like I’m grasping at straws. But I’ve taken care of so many patients who have passed away from liver failure caused by cirrhosis from drinking and it’s so so brutal. I just can’t let this happen to my dad without try or asking. I’m 31 and I want to have kids eventually and I want him to be there and walk me down the aisle. I just have to ask :(

I was sick for nearly a week after drinking oral contrast for an abdominal CT scan.

I felt nausea, weakness and dizziness. I also had intravenous contrast for the same CT scan. Is this even possible?

I got a very bad burn at work on Friday. I went to urgent care within an hour of it happening.

I was at work cleaning the grill when grease splattered all up my arm and hand. I am just curious as to what degree you guys think this burn is, and how long it will take for this blister to heal?
