Acute dizziness, for a few seconds, then it's gone.

Info: I'm in the process of getting a second opinion on my issues, I'm not just running to reddit because I didn't get an answer I wanted. I want to find out what's happening with me, as it's affecting my daily life, and I want suggestions and ideas of what might be affecting me. I'll provide as many details as I'm able to, but I'll also happily reply to comments.

I'm female, 23, and I live in Norway.

The issue: Over the last year I've had episodes of acute dizziness that goes away after just a few seconds. I'll get these episodes several times a minute, over the course of a few days. I also get some shortness of breath, it feels like my lungs stop working during these seconds, and I have to gasp for air, typically three to four gasps. I get a tingling sensation throughout my entire body, but it's mainly focused on my feet, hands, and face. I also lose my vision partially, everything is blurry. After the episodes, my body feels a bit numb. I also get extremely tired during these episodes, needing approximately 2 hours more of sleep every day, which I either get during the night, or through naps.

I get these episodes from moving my body, moving my head, or even just my eyes. I can also get them while laying completely still, but that's not as common. During these days, I have to move around very carefully as to not fall, as I feel like I could end up fainting.

My worst period of these episodes was during summer last year, we had to call an ambulance, and they sent me home, saying I had Crystal Sickness. (Note, it was not Crystal Sickness. Ruled that one out.)

I eventually got sent home from another doctor's visit with a portable heart monitor (?) which tracked my pulse during the days and nights for 3 days. They found out that I had a resting heartbeat of 100, which is high, yes, but normal to me.

Background:

I'm diagnosed with fibromyalgia, but this has also been ruled out as the cause.

I take Ritalin for my ADHD, but my heart rate was over 100 before I started this. I've been carefully finding the right dose of these with my doctor.

I take Effexor for my depression, but I started them after these episodes started.

I take Truxal for sleep, but the same thing here, I started them after.

Additional info:

I'm having one of these periods now, it started today, so I'm in for a couple of days of bedrest and no stress. Yippee. This one is odd though, as it's accompanied by some extreme pain in my lower legs. Not the feet, just from my knees and down to my ankles. I'm gambling on this just being coincidence, and caused by the fibromyalgia, but I figure it doesn't hurt to add this.

I'm unsure of what else to add, I'm mainly looking for some suggestions as to what might be bothering me.

Flair is about the dizziness, not my legs. Wasn't sure which flair to use.

I hear creaking in my ear.

I went to the doctor a few weeks back because I suffered from a creaking sound in right my ear whenever I moved my jaw (my right ear canal feels as if it is closed compared to my left ear canal, I can't even stick my finger in my right ear). He told me it is because I chew a lot of gum (which I do) and give me a cream for my ear, a cream for my jaw and told me to put lukewarm water on my jaw. After I was done with the medicine I visited the same doctor which told me I was fine but I told him I still heard the creaking, to which he ignored my comment. Now it became unbearable, no pain, just creaking in my right ear whenever I move my jaw. I had to visit a dentist about one of my teeth in the left side of my mouth which made me use the right side more often to chew ever since I was young. It starts off not that bad at the morning but gets worse throughout the day. Help me.

What is this discharge in gf’s panties?

Hi there, can anyone help identify if there’s anything wrong with her discharge? As you can see, it’s hardened and brown, and somewhat concentrated and uniform. This is not at the tail end of her period either. She’s not in pain, so we’re leaning towards not being too concerned about it. That said, we didnt find any photos online of yeast infections or regular discharge that matched this. Smell is normal. Color grading charts we found suggest a wide range of things from cervical infection to cancer, which isn’t very helpful. That color grading chart seems to suggest brown coloring comes from blood in some shape or form but I have no experience or education to really base that off other than googling. Thanks in advance!

Is this an umbilical hernia?

Hey guys, I had a small bump appear in my belly button a few months ago, around the same time that I was dealing with acid reflux. It was extremely itchy, swollen and red scaly looking for several weeks. Since then, it has shrank considerably (maybe due to weight loss, not sure) and is less bruised, but it still itches occasionally. Also, the top outer part is hard when you press down on it. I asked my doc about it, and he said it was either a small hernia or an infection. He told me to ignore it as long as it is not painful. I was looking for a second opinion on whether it's an umbilical hernia or something else, and I'd appreciate any advice you might have. Thanks!

Medical lab charting/tracking/ easy to share

So basically at this point and 15+ years into someone find out what's wrong I've gotten diagnosis of Common variable immunodeficiency; along with a dash of asthma, syncope dsyfunction, hypersomnia, etc.

Nothing definitive. Started on Cuvitru, on week 4-5 and I went from having no pain to just hurting so much in my joints and acheing etc.

I am trying to get all my lab work together. All my Drs are on different systems, none are super interchangeable.

At one point I had done health matters.io it was tedious but it worked and graphed well.

Apple health integrates with alot of the patient portals but not ALL so I end up having them missed.

The closest non pay app I have found that worked like health matters is Guava, but even with paying it misses scan ins sometimes, but you can manually add them in. Some things still glitch a bit like TSH ranges comparedd to Drs and the overall interface isn't the best.

I am unsure what kind yoid call it but carespace is my overall fav for a drs office portal but I can't find anything similar.

If I can't do one with graphicing then I could do a Google drive folder but that doesn't seen as helpful either.

I'm looking for something that ideally I can print out and hand it to my Dr in person, or email. They can quickly flip thru maybe see changes etc. Honestly something easy to just share to the general public to look at at this point. It seems to be SUCH a mystery

Power point slide show at this point? Is there something out there I just don't know about?

I think I had a circumcision but it was the wrong type?

I had a circumcision and I believe it was a high and loose circumcision. The problem is it was an NHS circumcision to resolve chronic balanitis, and although it's helping the exposed skin, the bit of the head that is still covered does not appear to be improving.

Would NHS be able to change it (by removing the overhang and restitching)? Since it's still due to a medical reason, or would I have to find a private clinic that is able to do what is likely required?

Eye cloudiness

Earlier this morning my right eye started hurting and my vision became cloudy. I wouldn’t call it blurry more if I was in a room full of slight fog. My left eye is completely fine. I went to Urgent Care and they didn’t really know what to tell me and gave me a numbing eye drop to help with the pain and said to call an eye doctor if it doesn’t get better in 48 hours. Now that I’m back home, the cloudiness has gotten worse and my vision is now also blurry and I’m wondering if I should just call the eye doctor now

I got LASIK back in 2020 so I don’t wear glasses or contacts anymore

Chances of developing cirrhosis at 20

Hey there. I’m a pretty heavy alcoholic, take a week or two as breaks, but normally my binges last a week or two. Usually drink 7-8 drinks a night In those binges and sometimes it’s up to 10 or 11. I wake up hungover all the time freaking out about my chances for developing cirrhosis, a year ago I had tests and my cholesterol was pretty fucked. Liver function looked bad, but I did some blood tests and my doc said I was A- OK.

But I am still worried about it. I’ve been trying to slow down but I haven’t been doing too well at it

I’ve been doing this for about 2 years hardcore but when I started drinking I was 14 or 15 and I would drink ridiculous amounts but it would be like once a week and that would continue for a while. started getting bad a couple weeks before Christmas, when I thought my grandfather was going to pass away.

So 10 days ago I did CBC and my glucose level was 5.5 ( 4.1 - 5.9) and today I did some other test and my glucose level was 7.2. I know I ate a lot of food especially bad food this weekend so could be because of it or?

Incredibly long lasting, intense chest pain with no diagnosis

I 19F have two “types” of chest pain, one which is a sharp quick stabbing and another that is long and very intense, where it feels like a weight is sitting on my chest with a magnet behind it. This makes it hard for me to breathe and sometimes hurts to move aside from the general pain that comes with it. I have had both “types” since I was around 7.

I have been diagnosed with precordial catch syndrome which explains the sharp pain and had my heart looked at and was diagnosed with mitral valve syndrome but that isn’t incredibly important.

The cardiologist and three GP’s haven’t been able to explain, offer solutions, or diagnose anything. This pain comes multiple times a month and it has lastest for over 24 hours in one case.

Any suggestions on what to look into or people to try and see? So frustrated and in pain, just looking for help or answers.

19 M No recurrence of HPV lesions and the ability to have sex

10 months ago I was diagnosed with anal wards caused by the HPV , for the next five months I fought them using methods recommended by a dermatologist, i.e. electrocoagulation and cyrotherapy. I have not had any recurrences of anal condyloma over the last five months. Is it safe to return to sex after such a period of time? Do I have to inform my potential sexual partner about this since hpv is so common?

How to slow brain down

Hi, sorry to bother y’all, i cant get results being as specific as i need to on google, so im asking here for suggestions or a redirect to a subreddit that can be more helpful

For some reason(my theory the obscene amount of caffeine i consumed at a young age), i have to do everything as fast as i possibly can. Like its not an i want to, its a requirement, similar to breathing. Its like an itch i can only scratch by going as fast as i can.

This is a problem because the fastest i can go is similar to overclocking an intel processor with the stock heat sink; i try to go super fast, and miscount how many parts i need to ship with an order or pick the wrong item entirely. Since we get bonuses based on how many fuck ups our warehouse makes, I have made my co workers miss out on about $210 since the new year started, and factoring in last year that rounds up to about $400ish.

I dont have adhd, i dont have autism(both have been tested for by a doctor), but this need for me to be fast all the time is potentially jeapordizing my job, so i need to figure out a way to slow the fuck down so i can not be such a detriment on the job.

Anemic long term after surgery complication?

I (27/m) had an abdominoplasty in July 2023. I had a complication where an anchor stitch in my groin popped and I nearly died from blood loss due to a massive hematoma filling my legs, groin and stomach.

They washed out a blood clot that was larger than a kidney. They didn't give me a transfusion, and I was deathly pale for about 12 days after. They said I survived because my blood "did what it should- it clotted." Rather than just keep bleeding into my guts. Yippee!

Since then, I have been super anemic. I've never been anemic before. The bruises, light headedness, and cold are all new to me. Iron supplements haven't been entirely cutting it. My levels are SLIGHTLY below average, but it's a noticible difference from pre-surgery. I've fainted twice from being stuck sitting upright in a hot room. My injuries also bleed MUCH more when I'm cut.

Any idea on why is this still ongoing? I'm going to talk to my doctor about it at my next appointment, but I'm trying to figure out a reason for my levels staying this way after almost 10 months. I also don't want to sound insane or be dismissed just because my labs are only slightly under.

I'm concerned about it being permanent..

Infection ( excuse the sock fluff )

Should I go to doctors ?. I feel stupid going for no reason I know there is clearly some sort of issue with my foot so does the doctor ( not athletes foot ) but it blisters and the stuff from inside the blisters are now milky colour rather than clear and I have developed a big red line coming from the wound .. it's the line I'm most concerned about 🙃

I (23F) am worried about my mom’s (52F) health

So my mom has been in menopause for 3 years and a few months ago she had a cycle. this is a serious sign, so the family physician advised her go see an OBGYN and do some screening tests. I’ve tried multiple times to encourage her to see the doctor but then she asked me to close the topic. She also refuses to tell me if she went/is planning on going.

What’s worrying me is her view of health. She believes that healthcare is useless and that we should succumb to disease and die because it’s “how it’s supposed to be and natural “. She’s very religious and told me that she wants to see god sooner. She said these while laughing but idk if that’s her way of dealing with stress. She also kept changing the subject.

I’m the only one knowing about this. I have a brother and my dad (divorced). I’m thinking of consulting my dad about her but indirectly, just mentioning her ideas about health and screening. I’m only afraid she’d get upset with me for sharing. I feel so worried about her and so stressed from not doing anything because i don’t want to upset her. I texted her a lengthy message about screening and early detection (i’m in the medical field) as well as how to deal with concerns and getting support.

I’m planning on being persistent because i don’t wanna give up on her for something that could be small and preventable.

What do you think i should do?

Traumatic Gyne experience

(F)(34) seen about 4 or 5 gynecologists in my lifetime. Not the most enjoyable appointment to have but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do, to stay healthy and have healthy babies. So, baby is actually now 8 years old, realize I haven’t been for about 3 years for a check up, decide it’s time for a Pap smear and HPV test.. book with a female Dr in an established/ reputable medical centre near by,… off I go.. she’s 40 minutes late to Arrive to work, I’m the first client. Great first impression.

We chat a bit at her desk, then go into the little examination room… I’m told to gown up and lie on the bed.. so I grab gown from the back of the door which seems to be a communal gown, there’s only 1. Hung up on the door (did a quick smell check under the arms and it smelt ok 🙊) so put it on, as I’m lying on the bed I peer over to my right and notice a blood splatter on the ultrasound machine. It’s dry and lumpy like it had some bits in it 🤐 I look and realize the whole ultrasound machine is grubby and needs a good disinfectant wipe down… but she walks in.. WELL…. I’m not sure if it’s malpractice but I feel disgusted even telling this. During the examination, she only wore 1 glove… then she dropped some lube/ jelly onto the ultrasound machine, it was so close to the blood, then wiped it with her gloved finger and Used it on the instrument that was then luckily covered with a condom which she inserted inside of me. I can hardly believe I’m typing this.

This whole experience has left me feeling nauseous .. I emailed the rooms and Chat GPT help me write a stern formal complaint listing the 5 unhygienic incidents. Which she responded too (as if the gown was the biggest issue.) so I replied again asking her if she understood the severity of the situation?!

I told her if there was a rating service for hygiene I would unfortunately have to give her 0/10.

My mind is completely consumed with the thoughts of what happened today and I’m just gobsmacked. There were other things, but this is getting so long …and it’s so private, I can’t even imagine why I’m typing this for strangers to comment on 😢 aaaaahhhhhh I’m horrified …

I think I should tell my medical provider about it, and have her investigated or at least get a refund for the R2000 appointment 😵‍💫

Deep sigh of disbelief 🫢 💭

Anual pimple VS abscess? NSFW 35/f

Monday I first noticed the lump around my anus, and started experiencing excessive flatulence, and feeling run down. Tuesday I had a temp of 102 and had chills/feeling clammy, and figured I try to get seen from a Dr. Just left my appointment and he diagnosed me with a pimple, prescribed augmentin, and said drainage wasn't necessary despite my discomfort. I guess I'm curious what the difference is between a pimple and abscess is for future reference, so next time I don't rush to get seen.

Pimple pic is attached

(20f) Mucus/Blood in Stool

Hi everyone! I am a 20 year old female, very active. For a few weeks I was having super minor bright red blood when I was wiping, but it felt like my anus was scratched. That went away, and a few days later I started having a lot of bloating. I have now been bloated with lower abdominal pains for about 6 days. Today, I had a completely normal poop, and then about 30 minutes later I passed some mucus with tiny bits on blood in it. I am seriously losing my mind. Help!

Should tattoos be avoided after pancreas removal?

My mother had about 3/4th of her pancreas removed due to necrotizing pancreatitis. She wants to go with me to get a tattoo. She's not diabetic (surprisingly) and as long as she's not diabetic, it's supposed to be okay. But it makes me nervous to take her.

Should she avoid getting a tattoo since she doesn't have much of a pancreas?

Do I need stitches?

Long story short, I was forced to jump off my bicycle and the bike came with me, I landed on the chain (admittedly a little bit rusty) and it gashed my leg pretty nice. I've cleaned it thoroughly within 20 minutes and then had it dressed all day, and have removed the dressing to allow it to heal for around 4 hours now - but would I need stitches or should I keep dressing it so it can heal itself?

It's my knee but so far hasn't felt tight when I extend it.
