Hey Malibu! I'm a recent college grad working for a startup from the comfort (and solitude) of my couch. I’m new around here, don’t really know anyone, and thought, "Hey, maybe drinking alone doesn’t have to be the main vibe." Which brings me here, hunting for a solid drinking buddy to help me break up my WFH routine with some actual human interaction.
My Ideal Drinking Buddy:
About Me: If you’re looking for someone who’s really into hiking, meditating, and contemplating life over a beer (preferably while watching the sunset), then we’ll get along great. I don’t do random bar karaoke, but I might just suggest hitting up the beach or finding a low-key live music spot to mellow out. And while my laptop is basically my roommate, I think it’s about time I add some actual faces to my social circle.
So Malibu, if you're a chill 20-something who’s down to laugh, grab drinks, and maybe even chat about the best places to people-watch, drop me a DM. Let's make sure my couch doesn’t become my only friend. Cheers! 🍻
You guys still noticing the red tide?
Is it normal to have weird wafts of tar smells on the ocean? I’m here and sometimes it’s heaven and sometimes it’s “wtf”. In other news, I rolled myself out of bed form 24 hour election stupor to see pumpkins rolling on shore and that felt surreal but wholesome af.
I know there’s a fire hazard yesterday and evcautions in malibu but i was wondering if today is fine to go to the beach because i didn’t see anything about it as of today
Any ideas for a first date location that are not too ridiculous pricey in town? I'm not from the area. Just a first date.
Might be day. Might be evening.
Thank you
What in the hell is going on?
Scandals meet rebeles.
I’ve lived on PCH for 3 years now — it’s never smelled this bad. Hoping it goes away soon.
I'm trying to plan a birthday dinner for a friend in December and was hoping to get a dinner reservation on the water where we could watch the sunset. After looking at the sunset times, I'm realizing that this might not be possible unless we eat at 5:30PM. Is this conclusion accurate? Is there any point in trying to time this or am I better off optimizing for a different kind of restaurant (like Inn of the Seventh Ray or something)? Thank you for any advice!
Looking to rent an apartment on pch kinda near the McDonald’s and just wondering how loud it gets at night
Hello! I know this could be a reach & hefty ask, but I am currently planning on proposing to my girlfriend hopefully by the end of this year, and I'm looking for any help/ideas for where I should pop the question. I have been back and forth with my plans, but I know that I would love to do it somewhere in Malibu. I am envisioning something higher up, overlooking the ocean on property/land that's super private (so no beaches or public lookouts).
I wanted to see if anyone could either lend me some ideas or point me in the right direction. I started looking on airbnb to see if I could find a property I could rent, but just having a hard time justifying thousands of dollars when I could probably find something easier on the wallet if I did more research.
If anyone has some property or has a connection to a property that somewhat fits what I am looking for, that would be amazing! Happy to send more details if needed, and happy to pay a fee as well.
Thank you in advance!
Something came up and I can no longer run the Malibu half marathon this week :/ Message if interested.

We are selling a 2023 Spartan EV golf cart. This would be perfect for point Dume residents, Trancas residents, Broad Beach residents, etc..
Trying to cheer on my friend this Sunday at the marathon but I won’t be able to get there until after the shuttles to the finish line end!! (They stop at 6:45). Anyone aware of alternate parking close to the finish line (think it’s by Point Mugu beach?)
Looking to run it :)

The band I’m in (The Framers) will be playing our first ever show at Dreamland this Friday!
We have played at festivals such as Shabang and Fields of Funk and have opened for artists like STRFKR, Thundercat, and Wilt.
We hope to see you there! We will be giving out some free little merch such as stickers/pins at the show!
Hi everyone!
We recently started a daily newsletter that recaps the 5 most recent Californian bills without the legal jargon. We'd love for some feedback on how to improve this resource to help more Californians become aware of the legislation that might be impacting us.Â

We are going to some places that only has valet parking, and it's a fixed fee. Do we still tip on top of the valet parking fees? If so, how much do we tip? Do we tip before we drop off or after they return the car? I am visiting so not familiar with the tipping culture.
