REJECTED. Chewed up and spat out.
So I’m a transfer student and tbh I’m pretty sure the reason I got rejected was bc I applied without completing 2 required GE courses ☠️☠️
I applied for spring 2025 admission but was wondering if you guys would also agree that they rejected me because I haven’t met the minimum GE requirements?
If not, then I’m cooked bc my E.C’s are straight fire. This would then leave me with the final reason of me just being intellectually inferior….
I’m going to apply again for Fall admission 2025.
Any recs for professors in GSEP online ?
Specifically psy 600 and psy 606??
Thank you!
For those of you in the 3+2 program how is it? Are you double majoring? do you think it is worth the cost?
Pepperdine is really expensive and I was wonder if you guys think its worth it?
I’m interested in applying Fall 2026. It’s been a dream of mine to become a Clinical psychologist with an emphasis is MFT. I’m curious to know what life looks like after attending such a prestigious university. In my mind, these people are making great money.
Hey everyone,
I am currently a high school student in my senior year in Turkey. I will be applying to colleges soon. Pepperdine is one of the universities I plan to apply to. And I have a few questions about it.
1- I heard that Pepperdine is a Christian university. And I am a Muslim. Would this be a problem for students who have beliefs other than Christianity like me? I am not that knowledgeable about these issues.
2- How is the campus? What kind of opportunities does it offer for a student other than education and classes? How is its security?
3- I saw in some posts that other people recommended bringing a car. Would it really be a good idea to bring one? If i do, what is the parking situation on campus?
4- I am interested in business, finance and economics. What does Pepperdine offer in terms of education, networking etc. in these fields?
5- How is the social life? What kind of activities are there for socializing? For example, is there a car club?
6- How are the dorms? Are there dorm rooms with private bathrooms? I also heard that some dorms do not have air conditioning. What do you use as a solution?
7- As far as I know, Pepperdine offers financial aid to international students. But I read that it is limited. Is it possible to cover all the fees?
8- How is the food on campus? Are there Halal or Kosher products for students?
These are the topics I am most curious about so far. I would be very happy if you could give me some feedback on these topics. Thank you very much in advance.
Currently applying and working on my why is supplemental. Is there any stand out clubs that have to do with community service or politics? What other things about pepperdine should I know that aren’t very obvious ?
Hello! I'm planning to apply for Fall 2025 and was wondering if anyone would like to share their experience at Pepperdine. I know Pepperdine isn't super strict on religion despite being a religious schools, but do they have any rules a non religious school would have? (besides things like religious classes) Thank you!
I’m super interested in Pepperdine, it’s probably my first choice for a college at the moment. But the biggest thing I’m worried about is the religious atmosphere. I’m religious, but not extremely. How much of religion plays a part in every day life at college? Are people accepting of different denominations? Thank you!
Curious how much yall are paying out of pocket for this program? I am highly considering this program however I really don’t want to go into that much student loan debt 😭😭
I'm catholic, and thinking of applying to Pepperdine. I know the school has strong religious affiliations, which tend to lean protestant. This doesn't bother me too much- all forms of Christianity share similar values! But I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice or info on what Pepperdine's culture might be like for a catholic? Would I feel out of place? Or is the religious aspect of Pepperdine not emphasized as much as I think it is? Maybe my own faith wouldn't really impact my experience at the school as much I think it would? Thank you!
Hi! Anyone else still waiting on an acceptance? I applied 9/23 and my admission counselor said it was ready to review/submitted on 9/17 and should know in 3-4 weeks. It’s passed the 4 week mark by a day now and getting a bit anxious.
Hey, so I an interested in attending Pepperdine but I head it was a mainly PWS and was wondering if this was true. I live in LA so it is very very diverse and am not use to being in a area where it is predominately white. I wanted to know peoples opinions what attend the school and what they think.
Also, how is the transportation there. I know that people who go to UCLA or UCSB don’t really need a car because everything is close to each others, but I heard that PU doesn’t have lots of buses and Ubers are hard to get by. I don’t have a car or license but am working on it so I was wondering how crucial would it be to not have one. Also Malibu is on the coast so if I wanted to go to LA I would have to Uber there for 50+ dollars. IDK can anyone help?
If anyone is looking for off-campus housing. I met my roommate through the website and instagram account: https://www.instagram.com/puniverse_housing?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
I'm interested in applying to Pepperdine for their good biology/pre med programs, but I'm wondering how religious Pepperdine is, and what's required by students (church, mass). This is coming from a non-religious person at all. Thanks!
If you like Arctic Monkeys, Destroy Boys, or Beach Bunny:
The band I’m in (The Framers) will be playing our first ever show Dreamland this Friday!
We have played at festivals such as Shabang and Fields of Funk and have opened for artists like STRFKR, Thundercat, and Wilt.
We hope to see you to there! We will be giving out some free little merch such as stickers/pins at the show.
I haven’t submitted my application. Do you think most students have. When should I submit?
I’m considering applying to Pepperdine because of its beautiful environment and tight knit community and would like to hear from recent students about the culture there. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community who is not out, I'm not sure if this environment would be right for me. Would it be wiser to choose a more open and accepting college?
I got accepted into both and I’m wondering if anyone is in either program and can tell me more about them to help me make my decision.
I already spoke to my advisors and they seem to be pushing real estate, but I have personal conflicts and want to hear from actual students. To keep it simple, some reasons are:
If anyone has any success stories post graduation and what kind of jobs you work please let me know!
I have to make a decision by the next few days and I’m stressed lol.
I am looking into doing my Master's degree in Psychology and I have been researching programs around CA. I had a phone meeting with a counselor who was super sweet and informative. She then informed me of the total cost of the Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology program and omg.... $132,000? I literally gasped. I'm so sad because I am really interested in this program, but OMG that is so much. Anyone who has done this program, were you all able to get any type of financial aid such as scholarships, stipends of any sort?
I was wondering if this program is hard to get into and if anyone whose in the program can give me some insight on how you like it ❤️ Also, I have a 3.6 gpa. Have done fairly well in all my classes and currently in my last semester getting my BA so my gpa will go up even more after! Any advice or anything would be great.
Hi! Pepperdine is my dream school and I am applying for the fall 2025 term but I’m having doubts if I can even get accepted. I have a terrible cumulative gpa, at around 2.7 (I took mostly challenging classes)but I am going to explain why in the additional information section of my application. I also help run a nonprofit, have been on debate cabinet for 3 years, 3 years of sports, 70 hours of payed work a month, and I am heavily involved within my church through volunteer work. I have also done everything I can to show interest in Pepperdine, including taking a campus tour, doing an admissions interview, attending the Pepperdine preview, and even volunteering at my schools college fair that I knew there was going to be a Pepperdine representative at. If anyone has any advice on what else I can do, please let me know.
Hi guys. Im sorry if this is a very silly question..
Its my first term and Im exclusively taking out loans & when I first got my aid package I was taking 3 classes so all my classes added up to the perfect amount (fall, winter, and spring) for both loans I was offered (so I was going to accept both for the whole rest of the year).
Some stuff changed with work so I dropped to two classes. The total for this fall term is around $11k now. Should I just refine my aid to add up to around $33k for the rest of the year? Or can I only take out what I need this term and then do the process again next term…?
Sorry if this is confusing. Im just so lost and don’t want to mess up my finances
for those who have gotten the regents scholarship at Pepperdine- what were your stats? what is the lowest SAT score considered?
Hi - Pepperdine is my top choice. I was rejected for freshman class this year so I’m now at cc, focused on getting a 4.0 so I can apply as a transfer student. I’m not sure what I want to major in - probably something like business/communications or liberal arts/English, but what I major in isn’t that important to me. Would it improve my chances of admission to declare an intended major that is less popular? If so, any majors you would suggest? Thanks!
Hello! I'm a student journalist at Occidental College. I'm writing about Rick Caruso's plan to tear down the movie theater at the Calabasas Commons and build an apartment complex. If you are a Pepperdine student who frequents the Calabasas Commons and have thoughts you'd like to share on this topic, PM me, and we can set up a Zoom interview. Thanks!
Hey! My name is Rob. I'm a sophomore at USC. No, not the USC most of you are thinking of, South Carolina! Truthfully, I don't love it here. Like, at all. I am much more interested in a move far away from the east coast, and options like UCLA interest me. Pepperdine is appealing, since, as a devout Christian, I'd love to be surrounded by people I can relate to. Will you please convince me why Pepperdine should be my next home? Here is what I dislike about UofSC:
Everybody looks/acts the same
There's not much to do around SC, so parties consist of drinking at someone's house. That's it.
Societal pressure/norms to fit a mold
Lack of religion in most students I've met
No creativity, hardly anywhere on campus
Thanks!
