I’ve bought an r50 I haven’t seen it yet but the guy I bought it off said it has the Peugeot engine but I didn’t think the r50 had a Peugeot engine.
Hi, this is how my 145k km 2016 F56 JCW sounds like on cold idle. Could it be dirty vanos variators? Anyone else having the same engine noise?
I bought one of they Bluetooth transmitters for my 2004 Mini Cooper. I set my radio to the frequency the transmitter said to put it to, but when it starts to play my Bluetooth connected music it then says “station seek” and looks for another radio station. I’ve followed the instructions that came with the transmitter but it still says station seek even if I put the frequency on manually. Is there any way I can turn off the station seek feature. I’ve searched online and checked the user manual but no luck. Anyone with any answers will be much appreciated.

So the situation is a doozy. While my husband was doing my timing chain, the lower guide bolt stripped. It was torqued to speck. So we think the previous person who worked on it before us? Overtorqued it. & it jumped time but we already fixed that luckily with no damage.
Now our problem is, if we should keep the car or just get rid of it. & if selling it, what is it worth? The shop it’s at said we can sell it as is for at least 4K bc she is still a really nice car & we did a lot of stuff to her too.
Is it worth drilling that bolt out & re threading it? Does it cost a lot for a shop to do it? Is it hard to do on our own if we were to do it ourselves? & if so, any advice?
My husband is a certified mechanic but we put so much money into this car & finally got it fixed for so many issues & now this happens? I love this car but I’m also getting really tired of having things break.
Would love to hear some perspectives!
I just picked up a new Mini 2022 Cooper S Convertible. I love it, but wish it didn’t lean as much on curves. I was thinking that the first attempt would be new tires. It’s currently running Hankook Optimo 205/45 R18 88V run flats. I was thinking that I would be better off with a lower profile tire and ditch the run flats. Thoughts?
So pretty much I am in neutral and in the first video is the when I just start the car and drive and the RPMs go crazy when i barely touch the pedal and I am always about to stall when putting it in 1st.
Second video is me simply stopping the engine and starting it again, issue is solved.
No idea what is going on, no codes, did a VANOS adjustment to see if the problem is fixed, will have to see tomorrow morning if the adjustment did something.
Any ideas what it could be?
I bought this mini and this thing is attached but I can't figure out what it was for... any ideas
Hi all!
Basically the title.
I recently joined the MINI club with my first car - a 2015 Mini Cooper (F56) in orange
It feels great whilst driving even when not in sport mode 😋 I live in the UK so the roads are pretty nice with the "go-kart experience" from sport mode. I'm a little bit disappointed with the center console since I thought it had navigation when connected via USB but this wasn't the case. So I was looking into upgrading the infotainment stuff inside the car. Does anyone have any experience with this/recommendations?
I'm sure there's a lot of options you can change so I'd also want to know what else people have added/changed on their Mini's for a few ideas to do to mine.
Hey everyone! I love Mini Coopers and have the opportunity to buy one for what seems like a great price:
Is there any advice anyone can give me? Things to look for that might be immediately clockable? I have already had an Audi A4 so I don't want a repeat of having a beautiful, immovable vehicle (I'm very car dependent for my work commute) Thank you for ANY insight! Stay safe on the road
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU@&!!!!!!
Afternoon all,
Got a Clubby F54 with the auto lights. I drive over moorland to get to work every day and at the moment in winter it's pitch black up there. Pretty much every car driving towards me flashes their lights at me. I have the auto lights.
A mate at work has a Cooper and reckons he has a switch on his car to change between low and high dip. I can't find anything on mine, the hand book though thorough doesn't tell me how to dip my headlights either.
Is it possible to manually dip the headlights on my clubby or am I just gonna be getting flashed at night forever...

Hi everyone,
I’m not a mini owner, but my mother-in-law is. She recently bought a 2017 Mini Cooper Clubman S from a local used-car dealership. The car has 80,000 miles on it, and just three weeks after the purchase, the check engine light came on. The codes it’s throwing are: P11C4, P0171, P0440, P0446, P0455, and P0715. After doing some light research, signs were pointing to the fuel tank breather valve. I took the part off and lightly blew into it from all three ports and it wasn’t allowing any air through. I tested the ohm reading and it was about 16 ohms. Just to be safe, I ordered the part. I searched and was able to find the Bosch part for about $45.
Three days after the mil light turning on, it turned back off….???? I am completely baffled by this. My in-laws told me it just randomly turned off and hasn’t came back on. It’s been about a week now. So I decided to ask more questions. Turns out that my mother-in-law filled up the gas tank on a Friday (claims to have put 93, but she’s not necessarily known for being honest), parked the car on a steep driveway and left it there for a few days. Sunday evening, they drove for about 30mins and the light turned on. I’m no expert on minis, but I did see on a forum somewhere that gas could have potentially gone in the evap hose…??? Idk. The part arrives today 😂
A bit about me: I have some experience with mechanical work. Back in 2010, I worked at my brother-in-law’s auto repair shop for about three years, where I learned a ton. During that time, I also owned several air-cooled VWs and rebuilt a few of their engines myself. While I have a solid foundation in working on motors, I’m less familiar with modern cars and their many sensors. That said, I’m a quick learner, especially when it comes to things I’m passionate about—working with my hands is definitely one of them. I enjoy creating, building, fixing, and repairing.
Anyone confirm if these will work? I have a big brake kit and small spacers on my Cooper S. It’s working OK with the factory JCW Cup 18s but I hate the diamond cut finish.
Looking to black out. Going for something functional and motorsport-looking. Started looking for Oz Racing then found these rotiforms that have the look I’m after.
Everyone has way more choice for other models and I can’t spend £2k on GP3 replicas. Search didn’t help me find which wheels are interchangeable. Grateful for advice. Thanks!
2010 plated mini one has started making this noise and i have no idea what it is! there’s no warning light coming up on the dashboard and the noise only ever happens at random times. My car also randomly likes to cut the engine out sometimes when i’m idle and this noise comes on sometimes after the engines stopped as well. Its just gone in for mot/service and the only things they saw as advisories were a cracked tire and a lightbulb(which has been replaced) please someone help!!
Ours is the Ocean Wave Green.
Hey guys I’m deciding on buying a mini. However in a bit of a pickle. This car would be my daily and I would like to last me a while. Price, and everything the same. Would you recommend buying a 2017 JCW with 75k miles, compared to a 2017 S with 25k miles. I really want the JCW but idk about the mileage.
Edit: price point is the exact same, same year as well, only difference is mileage. I would like to go with the JCW but idk if it will last as long.
Hello, I have this pop up on my car. I bought the car from enterprise and have a warranty. Do I take the car to get serviced there?
Went to the mall today and got to park next to this sweet looking MINI countryman (new model) wish I could have met the owner to congratulate them and let them know how beautiful it is.
Didn’t notice any noise until this rattling noise from the rear got really loud suddenly. I got my boyfriend to drive while I sat in the back to pinpoint the noise. It’s coming directly from the drivers side rear wheel and only rattles when coasting. It doesn’t rattle when accelerating or braking.
This noise gets louder sometimes and then subsides other times, either becoming quiet or completely going away. But then it comes back very loud. Any ideas what could be causing this ?
It’s a 2011 Mini Cooper Countryman S All4.
Crawl in front the trunk? Yes, I have tried.
This is how you open a frozen (by weather) Mini window. If you just keep pulling it, your window motor will die sooner.
Stage 2 Pasquale is currently undergoing surgery to get a R300 turbo, 3" RPM dp, RPM belt tensioner and a AEM sealed air intake (to replace the makeshift one I run). Going with a full Stage 3 from Detroit Tuned as I purchased everything else from them and I chose level 5 pops and bangs.....
The lady asked if I was sure. It was at that moment I knew I chose right
2016 F56, 98,000 miles. Right front strut hits hard on bumps. Took it to the shop, got a quote to replace all 4 for $2100. Seems way high to me but have not gas shocks/struts replaced in a while in any car. Thoughts? Thx all.
Very christmasy between the two of us 🥰🥰🥰
Mine is the F55 😍 2019 Rini - Red-Mini 🤣
They look great together 🤩
My neighbour left her car out the front So I seriously had to do it 🤣🤣🤣
Any Aceman owners on here? Wondering what economy folks are getting?
