Hi everyone, I (25M) am planning on pursuing a PhD from JNU. I’m currently aiming for getting an admit into the School of International Studies in PSIR or IRAM. Had a few queries (sorry if they’re too simplistic)
I’ve heard that JNU has changed their admission requirements for PhD to NET marks. Is this currently the sole requirement, or are there any other criteria involved, like interviews or a research proposal evaluation?
Does JNU have a placement cell for its PhD students? I am aware that such a cell exists for their other programmes, not sure about PhD however. Given the reputation of the university getting work isn’t very worrying, but I am checking in.
Are there any disadvantages when it comes to getting a PhD in JNU due to which it would make sense considering a PhD in other institutions?
Will any potential interview/selection criteria be dependent on my research publications? I haven’t been able to get any publications done yet, however, I plan to do so soon (any advice or guidance would be appreciated here too!)
Qualifications:
B.A. Economics, 2020 (56%) M.A Political Science & International Relations, 2023 (88%) Not NET/JRF Qualified, will give the exam soon.
Okay so this was my 3rd drop (I'll turn 21 this year) for neet and scored 625 this time. I've delhi domicile and I'm well aware that I'm not getting any college because of obvious reasons but i can't help it out now. I'm doing bsc from ignou as well (2nd year).
What am i supposed to do now? Shall i take another drop since I'm soo close so hopefully I'll be able to make it through next time.
Or shall i give up on being a doctor and work through some other field?

Qualifications: ICSE 10th Passout. Currently in 11th PCM. Preparing for JEE.
Wish to join Indian Defence as an Engineer (preferably in Electronics field). What are exams I can give after 12th (like NDA BSc, TES BTech, Navy-Entry BTech, etc) or after UG Degree (AFCAT, INET, etc) and what are their requirements and procedures?
27F, My qualifications: I am a middleware analyst and have been stuck in this job for 4 years now. I have a btech in EE. I do not have any experience in coding but had a semster for C Programming, but they never taught DS & Algo. I tried for electrical companies offcampus after college but was not fruitful. Then i got into this role thinking it might have some coding but it is basic administrative work on servers. It doesnt excite me at all and I feel dreadful sitting for work everyday. I am bored with my current role as it's not challenging enough and I want to upskill. I have been wanting to do MBA for a long time but after 4 years I am not sure about anymore. I still want to try for the exam just to get it out of my the system and not regret later but i have to be mindful of the coaching expense as well (already spent 20k for coaching last year which I couldnt finish). I also have an interest in mtech in CS or AI (maybe abroad). What should I do?
My only problem is whatever I try to embark, I am never able to finish it. I get demotivated and get distracted.
All I know is I really want to work hard in something that I like.
Any advice would be helpful.
myquals: 12th pass
So I recently joined a tier 3 institute in my hometown to study btech in cse. Due to issues with both my physical and mental health, I was unable to perform well in jee (my chemistry is f*cked up). So my father forced me to join this college instead and I liked computers so I obliged.
Recently a friend of my uncle (they are a research fellow at oxford) suggested me to study stats .
I like maths and even qualified for inmo before my issues started. So i was thinking sbout mstat after btech as a web dev job doesn't interest me that much. I appreciate any guidance thnx
Should I do BCA if I'm not that interested in coding?
My parents say that I should pursue a course that'll give me a job after college.
I want to listen to them but unfortunately as a PCB student, I have no option other than BCA. The problem arises in the fact that I do not like coding or programming much.
I've seen people code with so much interest and passion. Many people have been coding since 7th class or something but I haven't done anything like this.
I feel really lost. I wanted to pursue bsc. Physics but cannot because I didn't have maths in class 12. Drop year is not an option for me.
Also, will I be able to switch to the IT field even if I undergraduate in a completely irrelevant course ( like ba french) ?

Hey, I'm a 3rd Semester student in Cse...I needed some guidance on how to prepare for placement interviews or internships...from where do we learn Dsa and Web dev? Strivers tuf? Is what they teach in class enough atleast theory wise? Gfg dsa courses? Or just practice leetcode or something, or any other resources? It would really help if you gave a rough roadmap to placement interview preparations myquals:- btech 2nd year 3rd semester student at MIT manipal Cse core
I'm a 25 y/o woman. My qualifications are 10th 98.4%, 12th 76% PCM-CS, 5year BA.LL.B. 83%. Graduated last year and got placed at a Tech MNC as an in-house counsel. It's been just a year but I feel lost. My parents want me to crack JMFC but I'm not really interested. I'm thinking about writing CLAT PG this year to get a job at a PSU but that's an unreliable option given the min vacancies. I really want to pursue MBA but given the job market in India can't take a risk of leaving a job that I have. While I plan to switch soon for a better pay (current CTC 7.3 LPA), I just have lost motivation to study but I truly want to work harder for a better bomb pay and more qualification. Please suggest viable options for a law graduate that can help me achieve my goals. I'm okay with corporate 9-5 given the pay is great. I don't really want to burden my parents and take a risk by pursuing masters abroad right now as globally the job market is down. You may also suggest some comparatively affordable masters options abroad that may help me out. Thank you!

I am planning to do BSc Clinical Psychology from Amity University Noida. During these years for Bachelor's I plan to do skill certificates like Coursera and minor degrees like for 9 months I will be doing of IIT Ropar. I will also try doing internships. During this time I am also planning to complete my books and publish them. I will also be preparing for CAT because I am only doing Psychology because it is easy for me and I need a graduate degree. Then I will go for CAT, hopefully I get to go to some good colleges for MBA. During this time I will also do some part-time job according to the circumstances and skills open to hire. After two years of MBA I will be around 25-26 years old when I will join a company. After this it is bit castle built in sky, but still. For 4 years I will gather enough assets and capital to start entrepreneurship with my friends. I have lots of ideas like making a AI psychological and advice assistant but I guess there is much time to finalize it now. DUring this I will enter the field of political influence because at the end that's what I want to do. With whatever financial strength and fame I want to relay my ideas to be put in national work. Maybe 2034 by when all these things start to happen.
Still I would like you guys to comment on the initial parts of the planning. How feasible does it seem?
Hi everyone,
My qualifications are that I am an Indian Software Engineer with 2+ years of experience. I studied Computer Science from a lower-end Tier 2 college with a CGPA of 7.7. I’ve been contemplating pursuing an MBA for a while now. And I wanna work and live abroad.
On one hand, a foreign MBA seems like a straightforward path to achieving my goal. However, I’m concerned that my profile might not stand out enough for top international programs. I don’t think I have any significant things that might add a lot of value to my profile.
For an MBA in India, the CAT exam is just 4 months away. I don’t want to rush into a decision. If I don’t take the CAT this year, I will have over 4 years of experience by the time I join an Indian program in 2026, which might make me older than the average MBA class in India.
Another factor that might influence my decision is the macro economic one, which is leading to lacks of jobs in the market. I have seen in a few posts where people from top schools in US aren't getting internships and jobs.
Considering the opportunity cost, actual costs, and my career goals, I’m feeling a bit stuck. I’m not in a hurry to pursue an MBA if it’s abroad and want to make the best strategic decision.
Can anyone suggest what someone in my situation should do? Should I focus on taking the CAT now and aim for an Indian MBA, or should I invest time in building my profile for an international MBA down the line?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
dropped an year for NEET, scored very very less marks. i want to switch my career now and I want to pursue BSC in CS. Should I go for the same in local college (FM is also available) or if I go to KIIT, will it be worth it?
My qualifications- 71 percent in class 12th and 72 Percent in class 10. JEE and NEET percentile are very bad.
I have taken BSc Biotech in AUM. and for masters planning to go abroad.
Wanted to know what should I be aware of before starting the course and some advice as well. Qualifications Teachers/staff/trips/exams/functions/people etc
And if there are any mistakes that you made in the First year and learned from it
And also curious about the dating life there (although I have no intentions for that) is it the same as Noida or less
if you can please provide an elaborate answer
Thanks :)
I am very low knowledge about fields in India. Please enlighten me. A list is enough to help me. I think I can research myself later.
My Qualifications are nothing ... Secondary education
myquals: 94% in 12th and 1.6 lakh rank in NEET 2024 I scored 533 this year in NEET, it was my first attempt and initially I wasn't satisfied with my marks so I had planned to repeat, but then the results were released and I was soo convinced that reneet will be conducted and so I started preparing for it. Atleast I would get a better rank, thus, a better college. I wasn't tensed because even if reneet doesn't happen, I'll just given NEET next year, so it would only help me right?
Heres a what I'm feeling rn: I was really hoping for a fair judgement and if not reneet, I wanted them to atleast admit that this year's result wasn't normal and next year the exam should be conducted fairly.
The final verdict was given today that no reneet will be conducted.
Now, here's the thing, I'm so damn scared of what will happen next year, I was thinking if no reneet is announced I will just go back to preparing for next year. But what if paper is leaked next year too? I mean, obviously the paper will be tough, but what's the point of increasing the difficulty if the paper will be leaked anyway?
The low scorers will cheat and score high but genuine students will suffer because obviously tough paper would reduce their marks. And after this year's results no one would question the abnormality of 2025 results.
I'm really scared of repeating now, what should I do? This feels very risky, I have no idea what will happen next year, I dont know if taking a drop is worth it. I've always dreamt of going to the best govt medical college. What if I take admission into whichever college I'm getting rn and later regret it? Will the guilt of spending crores on mbbs eat me alive? Is mbbs even worth spending crores on? Will I be able to earn that money back? I want to pursue pg too, and go for specialist degree. I'm genuinely passionate about being a doctor, I can't imagine myself in any other career. Even though i have a good rank in my state engg entrance I still want to pursue medical.
I want to choose between 2 options:
(Also, are deemed medical colleges good? My parents are trying to convince me by saying that even though their fees is like crazy high but they have wayyy better facilities than govt colleges and I can learn better there. Please give your opinion on this point too🙏🏻)
Thank you for reading this far🙏🏻

I 20f gave neet as a second time dropper...I'm not getting a gmc and feel like ending it all now Thought might do bds from a pvt college but every person online has said that it's not worth it and the ROI is null...idk what do to now should I just do BSc from any college or is there any other options for me Myquals are 10th is 90.4% 12 is 74%
Qualifications - M 25 GEM, 8/6/5, W.exp - 3yrs, CAT '23 - 92%ile (only IIM Sambalpur call)
I'm working in the learning & development field in a techno-functional role and my cctc is 20lpa (fixed). Although after making a couple of switches I've been able to secure a decent package, I feel without a master's degree my career will plateau in some time and I may be overlooked for the executive level positions unless I slog for many years. Since it's not a tech field I'm assuming the salary growth also will slow down soon.
The logical option was MBA but with my bad acads I can't get any tier 1 clgs, and any other clg doesn't make sense because their average package is similar or less than my current salary, not to mention the opportunity cost.
So the only two options I could narrow down to are MA ODCL from TISS since it aligns well with my current job profile and TISS doesn't consider acads OR do an MBA from outside India. The 2nd option is obviously more risky due to the bad job market and I could end up paying loans after returning to India empty handed.
So can someone please tell me if I'm missing out on any additional career options? How can I further my career in the long term? Which of my two options is better?
I need PDFs of some books for my first year CS engg. which will be starting soon.

Hey guys, I am an Electrical Engineering student graduated in June 2024. I have a master's admit at University of Stuttgart to pursue MS Electrical Engineering.
As my father does not have regular salary until September, I am unable to provide proper income source to banks to attain education loan
So far I have been ben rejected by ICICI, Bank of Baroda and so on. We do not have anything to put as security in banks. We are also unable to be eligible for personal loan.
Asked relatives also but they have existing loans and can't become coapplicants.
I am at a very difficult position now and don't know how to raise funds. If anyone knows any NGOs in Mumbai who can aid in this then it would be helpful. I do not want to miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity, I have worked extremely hard for last 4 years.
Thank you.

How good are IITs for PhD in Humanities? Also, is JRF continuous during the same or delayed?
my_qualifications are completed in terms of graduation and post graduation, now I am preparing for JRF.
Hi.. can you all give some ^good colleges^ suggestion I can get, for bsc CS.
Qualifications--> I have not given CUET exam, but I have given neet-2024(601). I have passed 12 with 82%. I have decided not to give neet again, I am good in web development and know little bit of MySQL, php.
Qualifications: Done BA Hons Economics, will be pursuing MA Eco
I am confused about my career path but I am considering assistant professor at du as an option. I know that life of assistant professor can become monotonous and at times you lack motivation but at the same time it's a stable job with good salary and work life balance.
So I wanted to know that if I become ast prof (hopefully🧿🤞) how can I make my life fun and interesting.
Give suggestions please!
