Hello,

Hi, I am doing a 4 day travel in Greenland at the beginning of august. 2 days will be spent in Nuuk. Wondering where we should spend the next two days? We are both very adventurous.
Greetings all! I'm a boxing coach rom New Jersey heading to Nuuk next month for about a week for a boxing show, some of my fighters will be competing against boxers from Greenland. The show is on May 4 at Godthåbhallen. Are there any suggestions for places to see in Nuuk, or for nightlife in Nuuk? Looking forward to visiting this beautiful land.
I have visited Greenland a few years ago and absolutely loved it. I would like to find seasonal work next year ,preferably in the summer, to get a chance to explore the culture and nature, and perhaps even consider moving there long term. I am thinking about fishing, hunting, kayak, hiking etc in my free time, really get the Greenland experience.
I am 21y/o male, a Danish citizen(though I don't live in Denmark) and moving to Denmark this year so I will speak good Danish by next summer. I found some job listings on the internet but I would love to hear from people with experience. What is it like to work there? Where should I choose to work(as in which town)? Is it hard making local friends? Are the wages good or should I save up before going? etc…
Really any story or piece of information would be much appreciated :)
Hello! Someday i plan to visit (and maybe live in) greenland and i would love to speak to some people who actually live there ^_^
Like the title says. My first day in Greenland starts with 1 day in Nuuk. I will arrive around Noon and leave next morning.
What to see, do, taste, buy, experience?
After all, there is the long history and I'm sure you've been influenced by Denmark and Norway, but would you guys see yourself/want to be seen as Nordic? Or would you consider yourself more North American? Just curious, thanks!
Any do's and dont's of carrying a knife in greenland (Nuuk), like a spyderco or victorinox? Is it adviced to keep it concealed or does no one care at all. I read through the weapons law, and found not a single mention of knives.
It looks like they came to mine this yellow part of the land, is it sulfur mining or something?

Hey guys,
Greenland is one of my options when try to look for a job in another place or country. I was wondering if someone can help me with some information regarding minimum and medium wages over there for a foreigner (after tax). I just need to evaluate a couple of things and compare some countries, I am foreigner and unfortunately I don’t speak Greenlandic also. Would it be possible to get a job over there with Danish/ English?
Thanks :)
where can I see the voting of motion in the Inatsisartut? I was wondering where I can find this since I was curious of motions that where voted on in greenland is it possible to see this?
I had a flight from Copenhagen to Chicago and about midway through, I saw this outside the window. The flight tracker was off, so I couldn’t see the l exact location, but I just assumed this was southern Greenland.
I honestly haven’t been on a flight where I ever saw snowy mountaintops before, so I’m still not sure if if that’s what I’m looking at or if this is just some interesting cloud formation.
Can anyone confirm?
We will be in Qaqortoq, Nanortalik and Nuuk in a few months. Is there a favorite food we should look for? I'm thinking like the donair in Halifax. All I can find is traditional foods.
Hi! I need some advice from you, I am planning to work in Greenland 5 months this summer and I am trying to budget my staying in there. So I am asking about your income, do you always pay taxes, also if you do extra working hours, is the taxes still included in extra working hours? If I get 50% extra pay for doing extra hours, does the tax include also the 50% extra money? Thank you so much for your answers! :-)
Hi, needing some advice, please help. I’ve booked myself tickets to Greenland from 04/10-11/10. I will be going as a solo female traveller.
Laying over in Kangerlussuaq to Ilulissat.
I am looking to check out Disko Bay and doing the hikes there. Just wondering is it worth it in October or will everything be covered in ice and inaccessible.
I would love to add it onto my itinerary but cannot justify the accomodation/ferry cost (close to $1000 AUD) if I actually won’t be doing anything due to the weather/conditions/views.
I’m planning to the following over two days:
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Hello, i will be spending 5 months in western Grönland and was planning for fishing, in both inland rivers and the ocean (from shore). But i cannot find info on legality and rules for private persons only info for large scale industry fishing. does anybody have any links/info? Anybody here been fishing in Greenland? Thanks in advance!
In order to prepare for a hiking trip in Sermilik Fjord this summer and since I dont want to only rely on Topo maps I would like to know if any paper maps of the area exist.
Best regards.
Last few days i’ve been hearing about arctic foxes roaming around my hometown qaqortoq. I live in Nuuk at the moment for my studies, but i’ve been seeing videos and stories about people encountering arctic foxes in my hometown. It’s weird because in my 20 years of living in Qaqortoq, i have never encountered any polar bears or arctic foxes. My mother told me about this morning when she was going to work, all of her colleagues were gathered in curiousness and concerned. She learned that there’s a polar bear in town, coming from the great lake, going through the river, and passing through the old church. It’s a really rare sight. It was a single, young but large polar bear. On the photos, the town looked deserted. And the children weren’t allowed to go outside, as the route the polar bear went through was a school. The polar bear didn’t look like it was out to hunt people, it looked like it was just passing through. The bear roamed around and went to the harbor and jumped out to the water to get back to the wild. But as the polar bear was exiting the city, a hunter shot it dead. It’s kind of sad to know that they killed the polar bear only when it wasn’t a threat anymore.
