Every SINGLE TIME I end up just stabbing the parried enemy. I've remapped the jump button but it's jusy refusing to work, have I misunderstood how it works?
You parry enemy, move to the right - press forward + R1 + O & it SHOULD launch over the enemy.
But instead I'm just stabbing. Been trying for a few hours. Someone explain properly.
Competitive-Nail-685 and Sea_External_3826 are 2 alt accounts ran by the same person who doesn’t seem to sleep because they literally comment on every single post either being a massive dick or just spreading misinformation.
I don’t know who you are and why your life is so miserable to the point you spend every second of your day trolling on the dark souls 2 subreddit but please dude get a job or something to fill your time it’s actually sad.
I just installed DS2 and i need some help to find out what build should i go depending on my other game builds, i really liked magic and pyromancy in DS1 and i heard DS2 has something called hexes too, since its my first time playing the game give me a noob friendly build pls
I'm still in the dark ages rocking the PS3, I bought DS1 Vanilla and DS2 Vanilla at the same time.
Started 'in the beginning' with DS1, got into it so much that I then bought DS1 PTDE, and have sunk over 500 hours into it so far.
Early on I appreciated the frustration, difficulty and stumbling through areas and by the time I hit Lost Izalith realised I was over levelled, had junked my stats and missed so many questlines (including access to the DLC) that I deleted, researched character builds and began utilising walkthrough guides for its replacement.\
I'm starting to hit a replayability wall with PTDE, ~SL200 NG+5 or +6 (can't remember) Pyro/Dex Character that I've Platinum 100% with, ~SL125 NG+3 Magic Character , SL125 NG+2 Strength Character (BONK!), ~SL110 NG+2 Faith/Dex Character, a couple of other random toons filling up my select screen and my most recent SL1 Darkwraith that only has Gywn left to kill, that I have been enjoying invading/duelling on.
For a ~15year old game on a twice superceded console there is enough players during peak times to enjoy varied duels, summon signs go unused across all SLs though.
I popped DS2 in a few months ago for about 15hours over a couple of sittings and really couldn't get into it, the "curse" on death mechanic punishes exploration and forced me to rush to bosses.
I guess after all this wall of text I'm hoping to hear some support for DS2, or challenges that you may have done in DS1 that kept you going back for more.\
TLDR: DS2 worth it?
I am aware that they have the highest base damage of the straight sword class. That part makes perfect sense to me, and if they all had the same moveset I’d 100% agree with that assessment.
But the two handed thrust R2 seems very useful, even beyond just having more range
Isn’t the old leo ring a better ring slot choice than ROB when the weapons are lightning infused? Counter damage seems quite strong in DS2 as well.
Is it just because 110 counter damage isn’t that much even with the thrusting bonus?
Not trying to challenge the meta, Im sure there’s a reason it is what it is, just trying to learn more. Thanks!
I ask as I want to fight her again for the Moonlight Sword for my powermage type build, but I am kind of nervous about doing so as I haven't dueled her in a while, so I forgot how to get gud at the fight as she uses BIG lasers to circle the field, so I was looking for some tips to make her fight a lot easier for refights basically.
Like seriously, there's way too many enemies is such a hard to safely navigate space
So, I finished Dark Souls I yesterday and loved it. I have also played Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3 (my Xbox stopped working right when I reached the Lord of Cinder, tho). Considering I have loved all of the games I have played of the saga, I decided to buy Dark Souls 2 to try it out.
The point is, I'm not completely new to the saga. However, I feel a little lost with this one. The hollow system seems overly punishing for a game where you are expected to die a thousand times, and so does the way estus works.
I just started the game, barely explored the forrest of the Giants, so I am obviously still pretty weak. I expect to acquire skill soon enough once I understand the systems, but some help would still be appreciated. So, that brings the question: What tips do you have for me? What things should I keep in mind?
I don't like the delayed parry in dark souls 2 and 3, I prefer the instant one in dark souls 1. I always parry too late. 🛡️
Hey all, I am looking for some input on what to level next. This is my first play through and have been following along what guides I can find on here for builds. I am running lightning uchi with dark weapon and from what I have seen, it’s not really worth dumping more levels into dex with how the scaling works. Should I just pump into END? Vigor at 30 feels fine so far, I just killed the smelter demon for reference on where I am at progression wise. I am just looking for PvE advice, not PvP. Thanks!
i killed the 4 old souls and lightned the 4 primal bonfires but i dont know where i need to go :c

btw i havent played demon souls or bloodborne but i did my research on the best boss for those games
I'm playing on the PS3 with no DLC. I was going to use old Knight's Hammer but I farmed out Hildy and none dropped.
Before I pop a bonfire aesthetic and try this again, am I barking up the wrong tree?
Is this farmable here in PS3?
Also, i would Want to have a weapon too in a hand, i was thinking the time knight straight sword.
I haven't played this character in a while. Probably 3 months?
I'm at sinner's rise but I have no idea what I was trying to do with the build.
Any suggestions? What should I pick up next? Any ideas on where this might have been going? :-P
Anyone know of mods that make ds2 less frustrating? I've played all the other games and just finished ds3 and Elden ring in SL1. I was wondering if there was any mods that make the gameplay more fun and fit the adapility stat or whatever the dodge roll stat is
I think I am googling it wrong. I can't seem to find any lore about it.
I'm just starting my first run through of DS2. I'm going with a sorcery type but plan on using sorcery as more of a backup. My question is what would be a good mele type weapon to use. Should I use one that just scales with Strength so I don't have to invest into three categories like intelligence, strength and dex? I was thinking maybe go with a all strength weapon and maybe turn it into Magic so it would be strength and intelligence.
I'm going to test Profound Still on some NPCs that usually only cast spells. Any requests? We already know that Jester Thomas pulls out a Sun Sword, and I'm heading for Hexer Nicholai rn.
I really dont like the mace and claymore, so i don't know anything else that reliably gets me through the game. Stats: 20 vig 25 end 15 vit 16 str 25 dex 16 atn 25 adp 4 int 22 fth
I was fighting the ancient dragon but he killed me so when I returned to the bonfire I used this item 4 times thinking it would make me stronger now the enemies are getting ridiculously resisting. Can the effect of the item be removed and does the enemies in all areas get stronger or just the one I used the item in?
I tried messaging them with no answer
Looks sick but running blunt build and took 2 minutes on my second try
I am currently on my first ever playthrough and as I've gone through the game and see all the cool dex spears and pole arms and cool miracles I realized I would die if I didn't do a second playthrough before playing ds3 for the first time. I heard that your not supposed to level vitality is this true if so what do I level?
Flair because look at my fluffy toes and head.
