I used Flame Star Fists +25, Flame Shrouded Crystal Tear, Thornbarb Crystal Tear, Cragblade, Ritual Shield, Ritual Sword, Radagon’s Soreseal, and Axe Talisman.
I was at Blessing level 9.
Apply Cragblade before entering, drink physick while he’s charging at you. When the physick buff is up you can stance break him with two charged heavies. Dodge the grab or the bite, break him, crit. While he recovers, do two more hits for another stance break and crit. Do one more hit, and then back off while he phase transitions. If he attempts to grab, you punish with another two charged heavies, get the final crit, and have a big sigh of relief that you don’t have to fight this horrid boss anymore.
i know a lot of people don't like the instamelting but i thought it's pretty funny you can do this
RL 1 Mike tyson Cosplay vs Godskinduo
Worst duo fight in the base game to do at level 1 without cheering. 🤬
Any reason not to run all crucible over fine feather?
In addition, how much better is backstep dodges over normal roll?
Have you guys found a use for this AoW? Iirc, its considered quite good. What should I put it on?
Thanks!
After beating the Lion, I've been stuck on Rellana now for hours. getting her to phase 2 is no problem, but after that I pretty much die everytime. I've tried to use the great katana with thrusting pierce and the rot rapier with seppuku. Lowest I've gotten her is 25% health. Find myself reminiscing about the Lion fight when doing Rellana. Any tips on how to deal with her? Thanks in advance!
Ok whos got tips/builds for this flippy dippy 10 attack combo twat.
Arghh
Good boss defending goated npc questline (thollier my beloved)
Is this feasible? A greatshield trivializes a lot of PCR’s worst moves, esp with Deflecting Hardtear, but is there a reason it’s uncommon to see?
After playing ds3 sl1 and ng+ hitless sl1 i rlly wanted to talk about these bosses for a bit and rank them
Gael - Before I was probably going to have a hot take and put him a bit lower bc I’m awful at his 2nd and 3rd phase, but I saw some tips, played extremely safe, and fought him high and now he’s my favorite boss. I love how frantic the music is as gael is low on health. It truly is a masterpiece.
Soul of Cinder - The straight sword drove me crazy with the bs roll catches ngl, if it wasnt for that he might be first. However i enjoy the other classes (even the curved sword pyro class). It’s such a genius creative idea. But the gwyn phase carries this fight it’s literally perfect. I can’t think of a single bad thing to say about it fr fr. The lore is great the moves feel great to dodge, the slow music makes it feel like ur about to see the world fade away (which u will if u do the dark ending), and they use my favorite final boss theme of all video games (gwyn). What more could u ask for? Also, the fire fading ending is the most beautiful ending to any video game that ive ever played dont @ me.
Champion Gundyr - This boss is so underrated. Out of all bosses his attacks are probably the most fun to dodge. I love how unique he is and not j a bad reskin of Iudex. His tekken moves are so fucking fun to dodge like this is a perfect boss fight. The only thing I consistently sucked at was dodging his charge attack in second phase so if anyone has advice on avoiding that consistently please lmk lol.
Midir - Perfect dragon boss fight. He also ended up becoming an ego boost for me. When u play sl1 when most boss’s attacks one shot u, midirs infinite damage stops mattering and his attacks are super easy to dodge at least for me. I love so much that u fight him head on instead of hacking at his legs or smth. He’s j epic and awesome enough said
Nameless King - First stage is cool first few times u fight it but it j becomes a chore afterwards. Also I couldn’t dodge that lightning slam attack without the carthus blood ring so that sucked for me. The second phase where its j NK is perfect tho, not a single bad thing to say about it. I love how he’s a bit slower than the bosses and it made the rhythm v engaging
Lothric - Cool name, cool boss fight. Teleportation was done super well, and its a very creative idea. Even when i was doing a hitless run the magic blasts from Lothric weren’t too bad to dodge. Also enjoy that u get rewarded from attacking the back in the second phase to damage lothric
Sister Friede - When I first did my sl1 run I dreaded this fight from the beginning…and then i beat her in 3 tries ong. I want u to know that on normal playthrus it takes me literal hours to beat her. I believe that having a high damage build with the dragonslayer axe and knowing how to give her backshots when she goes invisible made the fight way more doable. I also think the second phase is a great gank boss, u can wail on ariandel and u usually have time to get out of the ice trails friede does.
Dancer - Great boss fight, actually feels like a dance and the rhythm it creates is so engaging. I dont have too much to say about her other than I love this fight
Dragonslayer Armor - This is another ego boost boss for me bc i always beat him in a few tries. Hes so much fun and there’s nothing more badass than attacking with ur shield more than ur primary weapon lol. Makes me wish the devs had the dragonslayer greatshield had attacking options but it j has a shield bash which is boring. Either way this fight is awesome and i love that u get a rematch with it in the dlc
Pontiff Sulyvahn - Great boss and i love how disgustingly fast he is. Hes pretty much the midgame boss and he’s a phenomenal one at that. At first it feels like his combos r endless but he does have a lot of openings for a quick hit or two.
Abyss Watchers - Perfect difficulty for an early game boss thats meant to be the first wall for most players. The gank boss twist is genius, and the second phase attacks r some of my favorite to dodge
Demon Princes - I know this is criminally low and for a regular list they would be way higher. But on sl1 this fight is EXTREMELY frustrating. It took me like 10-20 tries in the first phase to get a chance with the 2nd phase. It just takes way too long imo bc ur damage output isnt great at sl1. I think if their resistances were less this fight would be amazing bc the gank phase mechanics r well done
Note: All of the bosses I listed above are like S/A+ tier to me. I honestly felt bad putting stuff like abyss watchers and pontiff out if the top 10 bc i love them so much, but that j speaks to how good the ds3 bosses are. The next couple of bosses r still great but i feel like the first 13 r significantly better.
Vordt - He might seem rlly high for some ppl but as an early game boss he’s awesome. Great music and dodging his attacks feels great.
Gravetender and Wolf - There’s just so much holding the boss fight back from being great. The beginning wolves r just an annoyance. The npc dude is fine I guess, but the gank part when both the gravetender and wolf are in is just miserable. Ds3 has some great gank phases, this is not one of them. Theres no synergy btwn their attacks and it brings the boss fight down by so much. As for the wolf, his attacks feel kinda weird to figure out when to dodge, but the one thing that i like is that it rlly gets my blood pumping and that part is fun.
Old Demon King - His AOE attack are very frustrating and he’s j meh
Iudex Gundyr - Great fight for an intro boss. I’m very conflicted about his second phase tho. On one hand I find it unfun and almost impossible to figure out what’s going on with the pus of man flopping around. On the other hand I’m glad it exists bc it makes champ gundyr unique.
Yhorm - He’s a fun gimmick boss. He’s way way better when u fight him with siegward tho.
Stray demon - idk if he counts as a boss or not but he’s cool i guess. This is about the point of the list where i dont feel strongly about the bosses in any particular way
Deacons - This isnt a hard boss fight but wailing on a bunch of dudes is pretty fun
High Lord Wolnir - honestly a fun boss to fight, even if hes too easy
Oceiros - He’s a fun boss but the jank can get kinda annoying.
Crystal Sage - First phase is too easy, and second phase can get super frustrating. Its not an awful boss tho
Aldrich - If it werent for the arrows he’d be a lot higher. Fuck the arrows
Only like 3 bosses left but I would like to emphasize that these bosses are absolute dogshit without any redeeming qualities. Nothing would make me happier than having them removed from this game. Id say bosses 14-24 range from solid A tier to bottom C tier. These last three bosses would be below F tier, thats how big of a jump there is.
Halflight - Just trash. If he was optional i might put him out of F tier but hes required. I just resorted to cheesing this asshole with profaned great sword
Ancient Wyvern - Garbage. I’m ok with him on a normal playthru, but in sl1 the enemies on the way to the plunge attack zone are the worst. I have never been more miserable.
Curse Rotted Greatwood - Thank god he’s optional. He’s still just trash awful. This is a hot take but bed of chaos is better than this guy bc at least bed of chaos has an easy cheese strat. I actually didnt have much trouble on my sl1 run bc i came back with a +10 weapon but my frustration comes from when i fought him in previous playthroughs as the third boss bc i thought he was required. One of the worst experiences of my life. Idk who’s out here thinking tree bosses r a good idea. Theyre not.
Pls feel free to lmk ur thoughts. I (for the most part) rlly enjoyed fighting these guys at sl1! I believe almost all of them are better at sl1 honestly
I like to usually immerse myself in the game and make choices as if I were the Tarnished madman. I create a backstory for my character as in he may have been a Leyndell nobleman who was exiled after the reign of Godfrey.
After being called back into the lands between he denied the strength of runes out of fear that it may taint him. After being enticed by Shabriri he goes far below the capital seeking the Three Fingers & the Flame of Frenzy. That's how I justify my character's ending as the Lord of Chaos.
I'm very curious on how you guys do it, and what ideas and stories of your own you'd like to share.
Only a small handful of deaths for this one. I like this fight because how generous the attack telegraphs are.
Send help please how do I dodge the fold up into spinny move or the centipede lunge into 2 quick swipes move. Thanks in advance
Any tips and tricks for this boss? Weapons, buffs, armor etc. The thing that keeps killing me is the lightning aoe, not sure how to deal with this
Approaching her arena from behind and then Flame of the Fell God through fog wall.
Has anyone rl1 actually managed to achieve this?
Cursory google search says 48 faith is the highest boost you can have at rl1. The spell requires 41. The problem is the setup only lasts 60 seconds.
Has anyone does this cheese RL1?
Asking for a friend and totally not me who is facing down a difficult parry strategy.... :)
