Anyone recognize this dog?

Hi all! I know this is a long shot but I thought I would ask anyway. In November 2020, we adopted this dog, Shelby, from the HSNT Keller Welcome Home Center. Sadly, we had to bring her back a couple of days later because she and our other dog at the time would not get along. We know she was adopted the same day we brought her back because there was a post about it on the HSNT Facebook page. This would have been late November 2020. My daughter is always asking about her and would like to know how she is doing. The picture is from when we adopted her. I’m definitely not expecting anything here, but if you recognize the dog, please let the owner know that my daughter would love to hear how she is doing and it would make her day to get an update! Of course, the owner doesn’t have to reach out to me if they don’t want. Thank you all for reading!

If anyone is missing a small dog in Irving:

I told OP to contact animal services and to list the road this happened on so someone can check on the dog. OP didn’t tell me the road but they said they called the non emergency police line since animal services didn’t pick up.

Rehoming my dog

Unfortunately I need to rehome my three year old pit bull. He’s very sweet and well behaved but my housing situation has changed and I am not able to have any bully breed. I know that rescues are very full right now. I was wondering if anyone knows of a rescue that would consider some kind of foster swap. I would be willing to take in a foster take in a foster pup if that meant that my pup would be in a home and not a cage. I’m honestly heartbroken about this and am open to any suggestions.

Is PetSmart Old Town going out of business?

I was there today hoping to adopt a kitten/cat. It was SO strange. Walking in there were no snakes, no hamsters or gerbils, and no fish in that whole wall of fish tanks! Then there was only one cat who was crying so loudly I heard her on another aisle. Her cage looked disgusting - litter box was full, vomit and a food/water bowl turned over. Who do I report this to? DAS??

Cat Full Mouth Tooth Extraction

Hi this may be a long shot but my stray cat has severe stomatitis and early kidney issues. Our vet in DFW recommended a full mouth extraction and the specialist they referred us to quoted it at $5500 without meds, etc.

Has anyone in the metroplex completed this procedure with their fur baby? If so, what are some average prices to expect?!

No one will tell me even a rough estimate (single tooth or full) without an initial consultation and dental. I’ve taken her to 5 vets in the past 3 months and trying to avoid a ton of visits other than required.

Thank you!!

Anyone know of doggy day out programs to take shelter dogs out for the day?

I have seen online people taking shelter dogs out for a fun day through different programs! Anyone know any programs that do this near north dallas? I saw one but you have to have 15 shelter volunteer hours to do it!

🌟 Looking for a Caring Home or Rescue for Feral/Community cat “Kit” – Sweet Tabby Cat in Dallas, TX 🌟

🧡 Meet Kit:

  • Breed/Age: Domestic Shorthair, ~1 year old
  • Color/Pattern: Beautiful tabby mix (gray, white, and black)
  • Gender: Male, neutered
  • Health: Fully vaccinated (Rabies & FVRCP), microchipped, no known health issues
  • Vet Info: Recently vetted at Advocate Veterinary Services on 12-11-2024 (neuter, vaccines, microchip)
  • Current Treatment: On Selarid Topical Solution for Cats (5.1-15 lbs, Blue Box) Due again: 1/1/24

📍 Location: Dallas, TX 75235 (near Love Field, 19 miles from DFW Airport)

About Kit & His Needs: Kit started showing up with an injured paw a couple months back and I've been trying to care for him. He has spent his life outdoors and is currently back outside after recovering from TNR (trap-neuter-return). While he was healing from surgery, I kept him indoors for 5 days, and he amazed me by consistently using the litter box without any issues!

Kit has an incredibly goofy, sweet and lovable personality—he’ll even show you his belly once he feels safe and comfortable. That said, he does get defensive with other animals. While he has calmly laid near this dog (pic included), he can swipe or bite when unsure, so I’m not 100% confident about his compatibility with dogs, cats, or young kids.

I believe Kit would thrive in a patient home, a safe outdoor environment like a barn, or with a rescue experienced in caring for feral or semi-outdoor cats. My priority is finding him a place where he’ll be safe, cared for, and able to live his best life.

Why Rehoming? I truly want the best for Kit, but my current living situation makes it impossible for me to provide him with the stable home he needs. His outdoor behaviors make it unsafe for me to keep him long-term, especially since I live near a busy road that puts him at risk. With uncertainty about where I’ll be living in the future and other factors beyond my control, I know I’m not in the best position to care for him. My priority is to find a safe, dependable environment where Kit can thrive.

💡 Additional Info:

  • I’m open to sponsoring Kit if a rescue can provide the right care.
  • Kit has great potential and would be a wonderful companion for someone with the patience and understanding to help him adjust.

Please Share or Reach Out: If you or someone you know can offer Kit a safe and loving home—indoor, outdoor, or barn—please contact me! I’m happy to answer questions, share more info, and work with a rescue.
