Hello! This post isn’t for me, but it’s for someone who is very close to me. He went to Job Corps to specialize in concrete finishing, and ever since he got out, he hasn’t been able to find a job. In the past 6-7 months, he has applied to 25+ jobs, he isn’t getting any calls, emails, or texts. He doesn’t even get an interview. He has called multiple concrete companies, he has driven to multiple of the concrete offices to ask for a position, and he has even contacted his old instructors to help him with getting a job. He has been VERY determined to get a job, but his motivation is disappearing.. It’s gotten so bad, he has given up and applied to McDonalds. I don’t want him to give up just yet, Reddit is honestly our last resort. I wanted to see if anyone has any ideas or resources that I could send to him.

I'm a single male looking for a 1 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment in the price range of up to $1,350 preferably. It's going to be my first time living without roommates and I want to be closer to where I work (east McKinney, at most a 20 minute commute). So I'm looking at places in both McKinney and Allen and was hoping to get some recommendations from anyone who lives in the area, either current or previous resident. Looking to move sometime in the first half of 2025.

A few places on my list are:

McKinney village apartments, Bridge at McKinney, Orion McKinney apartments, Auberry at twin creeks, Trails at creekside, Gray Branch Apartments

Was hoping to see if anyone could vouch for these places or recommend something better. When u look at Google reviews I get too hung up on the bad reviews, it seems like they all have issues no matter where you go. Some say its a great place while others say its the most terrible place in existence lol

I prefer somewhere safe and quiet, im sure that goes without saying, somewhere that has a homey vibe and prefer gated but not required. Somewhere near good shopping locations and nature.

I was curious what the community feels is missing from McKinney food wise?

Does anyone know of any apartment complexes in town or nearby that don’t allow dogs? Getting so sick of my neighbors leaving their dogs out on their balcony, barking, all hours of the day and night…

Hi - longshot here, but while out running errands today a necklace I was wearing came loose and the Taijitu (Yin/Yang) charm fell off. It's silver colored, about 3/4 inch tall with a clasp on top. I think it happed at either the Kroger or Shell parking lots on Lake Forest / El Dorado, around 2pm. If by some miracle it turns up, I'd be extremely grateful for its return. Thanks!
