In 2020 on this day, the Left was telling Trump supporters that in spite of suspicious voting irregularities, we needed to get over it and move on because Biden had won.
A lot of people still don't believe Biden actually won in 2020. I will never believe that he actually won.
In 2024, it is unquestionable that Trump won yet look at how the left is melting down.
Hey Harris supporters, get over it, move on. Trump won.
Clearly there are a lot of people who feel the election process isn't safeguarded enough, now on both sides. I really think it might be great to strike while the iron's hot and start to suggest real ways the government could ensure both sides feel comfortable accepting the results of elections regardless of the outcome.
The only way I see that happening is if you make the voting process bulletproof enough that it's hard for anyone to question it.
Mass mail-in ballots are definitely a huge issue, I'd at minimum say that voters should need to re-request the ballot in person every election, or at least every few years, with photo ID to back up their request.
No voter photo ID on election day is another problem, it creates too much opportunity to vote on behalf of others.
I'm on the fence about getting rid of voting machines, I know a lot on the right would prefer paper ballots only, but I think there are ways you could get people on board with it. My main complaint is the closed source nature of election software, I think it should be as open for inspection as possible, and inspected for tampering throughout the election.
Anyway, what are your wish lists for helping people feel confident that election outcomes are valid? Feels like a good time to start now that we have leftists facing the reality that our election process is more insecure than it should be.
