Can anyone recommend a local mechanic they’ve had consistent good experience with? Have had a few bad experiences.
Southern transplant here. Would really love a buttery, salty, crispy outside and fluffy on the inside sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit.
What are your favorites in town?
Why do people live in Wyoming? I’m curious why it’s the least populated state!
If they do decide to live in Wyoming, why do they pick Cheyenne?
Thanks!
I always see people complain about housing in town which is very rough. I always wanted to own but being serious I am very compulsive. So savings were never really high enough for the 3.5% for an FHA or 10-20 for a typical mortgage. Always have had good employment and make good money. But couldn’t build savings. Found out about WCDA from a colleague 5+ years ago and went to my bank to ask questions. Sure enough they linked me up with another person that was more specialized. I ended up getting approved for enough to at least buy a house. My budget was small so finding something that fit what I needed for the budget was hard but eventually paid off. We bought our first house. All that was required from us was proof of employment. Make less than a certain amount. (I don’t remember and I’m sure it has changed) and have debt to income under a certain amount. All in all we paid $1500 down payment and had to do a class after. Month later we were in our first house. That house was fantastic to us and served us well. A few years later our income had grown market did well and we were able to purchase another house. The house we are now in I could die happy with. It’s plenty big for our family of 4 with room to grow.
I realize this is kind of long. But there are programs. I just don’t think a lot of people know about and it serves us very well if it can help another that’s great. But my family, sister in law and best friend have all bought there first house through this program and really opened our lives up in terms of freedom.
Apparently they are getting ready to run fiber in my neighborhood. Anybody have experience with them?
I have lived in Cheyenne for about a year now. I recently purchased a home in Cheyenne and am already having issues with neighbors parking there vehicle directly in front of my house and another neighbor parking there vehicle next to my driveway, it is in the way of my driveway by about 1-2 feet. To make this all better this is my first home ever so this is all very new to me.
I’m aware that street parking is public and anyone can park anywhere. That doesn’t mean it’s not inconsiderate especially since we are in a cul-de-sac.
Not trying to be “that guy” since I literally just moved into this home. But it’s also a cul-de-sac. I drive a truck and can barely get into my own driveway. Any advice on how to approach my new neighbors would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone use Starlink? Pros/cons?
Ok, so everyone who's eaten it, knows it's the weirdest Pico you've ever had. Maybe you love it, maybe you hate. My family happens to love it. Best pico I've ever had. Therein lies the problem. The best pico I've ever had, is in Cheyenne, and I'm moving 8 hours away. So here I am. Hoping. Praying. That someone has that damn Pico recipe, so my wife can make it for me!
I'm new to cheyenne and looking for a good farrier to shoe our horses. Used to topnotch work for $100 down in oklahoma and the guy everyone at our stables uses charges $150 and his work honestly is less than subpar. Any recommendations?
Hey! I’m moving to Cheyenne from the Sheridan area in a month or two. I’m looking for a one bedroom apartment in town and was wondering which apartment complexes you all would recommend? Also, are there any you’ve had negative experiences with/heard horror stories about that I should steer clear of? FYI I’m in my twenties so not looking for 55+/senior housing. Thanks yall!
This is probably a big stretch, but I'm wondering if anyone here lived in Cheyenne in the late 1980s and remembers a hotel fire downtown. I was a kid when it happened, so my memories are faded. I think it would have been somewhere between 1987 and 1989. I remember it being a pretty decent fire, but childhood memories sometimes exaggerate things, so maybe it wasn't. I've tried Googling it a few times but I've never found search terms that were specific enough (or there's nothing about it online, which is very possible). Mainly I'm just wondering what building that was, but I'd love to hear any other details or memories if someone remembers it. I have no real personal connection to it other than that I saw it as a kid and for some reason it's a memory that has stuck with me.
Hello! I just moved to Cheyenne from Florida. I have never experienced snow or truly cold weather in my life. I was wondering if I could get some suggestions for basic clothing items that are needed for an average winter here. Brand recommendations would be appreciated too.
Thank you!
Anyone know what's up with the cops camera unit sitting on Dell Range (on the Air Guard base) across from Mi Tierra? Is it a radar cam unit? Are they monitoring the restaurant? Seems weird to have it in the base monitoring something.
What is going on? Seems like every cop in the county is at east right now. City, county and HP. Along with EMS and fire. Officers running outside with rifles from what I saw.
Hello! I'm an attorney in Nebraska, representing a juvenile who may be placed at the Academy. Before I make a recommendation to the judge, is there anything I should know or look into? Will the client be safe and non-neglected? Thank you for any input or information.
Me and the rest of my family are going visit my niece and her husband for thanksgiving, we will be getting in Thursday and having thanksgiving dinner together on Friday. Are there any grocery stores or restaurants that have catering/takeaway Thanksgiving meals available to pick up?
Hey everyone I just like to let you know that this place is disgusting they don't clean there bathrooms even tho they mark it ik two employees that do actually clean them out of five them the walk in cooler has black mold and the pop fountain has mice in it and the ice bucket had yellow stuff in it gross so don't be saprized if you get a drink and you see black stuff floating in your drink from mice or something or Algae because the pop lines have never been cleaning since I lived here that ik of ewww 🤢🤢
Hey! The neighborhood I moved to does not have public trash collection. Anyone here have recommendations for a private trash collection company?
Hi, we’re planning on making the trip up tonight to Cheyenne to see the northern lights and we were wondering where is the best place to see them we’re coming from Denver. Is there a park or campground or something that we could go to to see them with very little light distortion. Thanks In advance!
Hey there! Heading to Cheyenne for the weekend. Late 40's single male. Any suggestions on where to go in the evenings for a good time? Music...dancing...single ladies...or all of the above! 😊
Hey guys! I just moved here and was wondering if any places around here offer eyebrow threading? I try to avoid waxing as my skin is super sensitive. If not, what eyebrow waxing places do you recommend?
Wanted to make sure people in Cheyenne were aware that the Board of Trustees voted on Monday to approve a study that would fund large Grade 5/6 feeder schools at the expense of closing 8 smaller neighborhood schools in the Central and Southern triads.
Please read up on the news on this issue (wyomingnews.com has been covering), and if you're interested in joining a parent-led effort to figure out a better way forward, DM me with your email.
There's a train station study open house at the library cottonwood room tonight until 7:30 taking suggestions and offering reasonings for different proposed options.
(My vote is for the historic depot since it's centrally located, would require no new at-grade crossings, taking a train to and from a historic site would be a tourist attraction in its own right, as well as the fact that all Cheyenne infrastructure especially during tourist season is about getting to and from Downtown already.)
Please come by and make your voices heard!
