Hi all.
I'm posting on behalf of my partner, who is a master's student in London.
They are looking for a current University of Wyoming student or independent researcher based in Laramie who might be able to scan or photograph some documents stored in two collections held by the American Heritage Center.
Please let me know if this is something you might be able to do! You will be paid $50 as well as credited in an academic paper.
Thanks so much in advance!
I was wondering if anyone has been in the online version of Abnormal Psychology/Psychopathology and still has their study guides? It would be greatly appreciated!
This is at the College of Law
Hey yall. Do you know the tuition for UWyo WWAMI med school? I checked online and got different results so I don't know which is true.
Hey yall. Potential student here. Was just wondering what was your experience in BS Biology or any related field here at UWyo. Is it good in terms of getting a good GPA? And how are the pathways here to med schools (I know WWAMI), I mean other out of state med schools. Thanks.
With the BYU vs. Wyoming football game coming up, I was wondering if anyone’s planning to protest BYU’s anti-LGBTQ+ policies?
BYU still has an Honor Code that bans same-sex dating, and students who break this rule can actually get kicked out of school. It’s 2024, and it’s crazy that LGBTQ+ students have to hide who they are just to stay enrolled.
If anyone’s thinking of organizing something or if there’s already a plan, I’d love to know. It’d be great to show support and stand up for a campus environment where everyone can be themselves without fear.
Hey all,
I'm an investigate journalist in the UK and I need access to some old newspapers on microfilm that UW has in their library.
I'm willing to pay someone 50 bucks to go an scan specific issues and send them to me.
I don't know if this breaks some policy so please advise if you don't think is is allowed.
If you're interested DM me.
Thanks!
I have considered UW for furthering my education but I have some questions. I'll make it quick.
Under ADA Wyoming is one of three states that doesn't give SDiTs the same access rights as fully trained service dogs. I have read up on UWs policies on service/assistance animals, but there is nothing mentioning SDiTs.
1] Does anyone know if UW allows a SDiT the same access or is it different? 2] Would I have to provide training records? 3] What else should I know about the disability services and getting a SD/SDiT approved? 4] Is there anything not mentioned on the UW website I should know?
I can ETA if anyone needs more info or thinks it's important but I feel like I covered most of my questions.
Thanks.
Update:
Wednesday, July 24: Nash’s sister and Paul the search and rescue lead just finished speaking with local authorities in Laramie and we have official SAR teams with dogs activating soon and air support starting in 45 minutes. All personal drones need to be grounded. No personal aircraft/planes/helicopters are allowed in the area right now.
If you are local, please do not go out searching on your own! Experienced hikers/bikers/horses/atvs only should stick to designated trails and roads, stay in touch with a friend. It’s hot out there, rough terrain, and there is a rattlesnake advisory. Take water, dress appropriately, and please don’t put yourself at risk.
Nash was known to bike an almost 50 mile loop from Laramie to Happy Jack and down past Curt Gowdy Reservoir.
Tuesday, July 23rd: Hello everyone. My friend Nash Quinn is a metalsmithing professor at UW, living in Laramie, and has not been heard from since July 8th. He frequently rides his white mountain bike in the Pilot Hill area and up to the Happy Jack summit. His bike and helmet are missing from his home.
If you are located in or near Laramie, WY and want to help on the ground, we are seeking folks with ATVs/ bikes/off road vehicles/ planes/ drones/ helicopters to aid in search efforts.
We will also need local support who can help feed/hydrate search and rescue volunteers.
If this is you, please download Zello and join the group “Nash Quinn public search” and share your info and what resources you have available. You can also reach out to me via private message with your contact information and available resources.
The search area is large with rough terrain. The most important thing is to not put yourself in a situation where you then need to be rescued. Please be mindful of your ability and bandwidth and regularly stay in touch with someone who knows where you are.
We have a gofundme set up to provide funds to search and rescue efforts, and housing/feeding family and folks on the ground. Please share and donate. Remember that sharing is helping, and $1 counts. Donations add up quickly. Please contact me for the link, reddit keeps removing my posts including it.

Hi!
I am looking at potentially attending grad school for psychology at this school and need some additional information.
I am physically disabled and a part-time wheelchair user and have ADHD. I am also LGBTQ+. How physically accessible is the campus? How good is the Disability Support Office, and how accommodating do professors tend to be? How safe is this campus and the surrounding area for LGBTQ+ people?
Thanks!
I’m a recent uk. College graduate and I have a passion for vertebrate paleontology, and I was wandering what UWYOs Paleontology degree is like and what it consists of. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
When do 2024 single game football tickets normally become available? I can only see the option for season tickets. I know it’s a bit early to be thinking of it but just want to make sure I have a ticket for when I’m in town!
I’m going into the University as an undergrad junior in the fall, I’m just wondering how easy it is to get TA lab positions because I did one at the community college in Casper. Is it even possible for undergrads to apply for that? Just wondering if it’s worth it to apply, if it’s possible for me as an undergrad student to do that, etc.
Anyone else obsessed with this place when they went to UW? No recipe compares
I found a professor who I would like to work with for my M.S. and sent in my materials to be considered for a posted assistantship in the lab. The lab website says that they advise students in both Ecology and Zoology & Physiology. I'm leaning towards doing Ecology, as I would like to be an aquatic ecologist, but Zoology & Physiology seems like it would open more doors for me if my intended career path doesn't work out. Does anyone here have any insight?
I live in Massachusetts and wondering if anyone has ever taken the online GIS certificate. Does it offer an internship? I’m looking to take it because UMass Amherst doesn’t have a post graduate certificate program and I’m looking at my options.
honors is th dumbest most BS thing you can do. It is literally just a minor in bullshit. the teachers think they are philosophists, the students that take it seriously think they are fighting for social justice. its a melting pot of kids who's mother/father never loved them
I have a motorbike based off of a Beach Cruiser and I was wondering if there’s any rules for riding it around.
Ok, when I was attending UWyo in 2012-2013, there was this massive scandal involving a student who was allegedly threatened on a gossip or missed connections Facebook group for the university. She was somewhat of an activist on campus and someone had anonymously posted that they wanted to “hatefuck” her because of this. This led to her organizing a campus rally speaking out against rape culture, which I actually attended.
The police investigated it and a few weeks later announced that she was the one who made the post! It was a big deal at the time but I can hardly remember any of the details now.
Does anyone remember this or have any additional details?!
