Is everybody seeing a double digit percentage 8ncrease in their property tav for this billing cycle? Second year in a row. No more outdoor water for me. Looking at what else can be cut.

Theft at Walmart

Went into Walmart for about a half hour today, and when I was driving back to where I live (about an hour from town) I noticed the back tire on my bike was gone. Luckily I had the frame locked to the car and they couldn’t get it off.

Is this something Laramie PD would even investigate? Is theft common at this Walmart? I’m going to be checking Craigslist and market place, any other local online markets worth checking?

Thanks - new owner of a unicycle 😭

Saw a (potentially) lost dog

Hi ya'll! I saw a white, medium sized dog (not the other dog posted in this subreddit) wandering around a bit anxiously today near St. Paul's United Church of Christ (near Garfield and 7th). It had a collar on, but no owner was in sight. I tried to walk over to see if the collar had an address but he started barking and snarling so I backed away. He was about 30lbs I'd saw, white, and I think short haired (no poodle mixed in). Hope the doggo finds it's way back home!

Evacuation emergency alert?

Anyone know what the emergency alert was about half hour ago? Is there a fire around the state line on 287?

In search of student tickets

Hey yall! I have 3 friends coming from my hometown and was wondering if anyone had extra student tickets for the Air Force game? Even just a screenshot of the code would be perfect. Thank you so much!

Best way to sell a car in Laramie?

Hello all! Selling my car soon, and wondering what the best forum may be for that? It’s a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta TDI 5MT, that needs some timing belt work that I can’t afford to do.

I’ve already checked with WyoTech and they’re not taking in cars at this time so that’s already a bust.

Any helpful advice is welcome, this is my first time selling/getting rid of a car!

Wild game processing

Just seeing if there is anyone in town that does wild game processing. I know there arent any commercial processors, just looking for people that do it as a side hustle. Just want to use it for future reference. I don’t have the equipment or space to do it myself, especially elk.

Does anybody want to be my longboard buddy?

I just ordered a new longboard and I'm stoked to get a chance to ride for as many nice days as we have left this fall. I'm a long time snowboarder but new and a little nervous about taking my skills to pavement. I'm curious if anybody is a relatively new skater who would like a buddy to learn and cruise around with.

Junk Removal in Laramie

Hey Laramie!

A little backstory—my roommate Matt and I (both University of Wyoming students) started Laramie Junk Solutions because we know how tough it can be to get rid of junk. From moving out to decluttering, we realized that Laramie needed a local, affordable, and reliable junk removal service, and so we decided to launch our own!

We offer:

Trash, Furniture, & Appliance Removal
Mattress Disposal
Light Demolition
Yard Waste Cleanup
Garage/Basement Cleanouts
Construction Debris Disposal
And More!

Whether you’re moving, clearing out space, or getting rid of old furniture, Matt and I will personally show up, do the heavy lifting, and handle the rest. We’re flexible, local, and happy to give free estimates. As Laramie locals, we take pride in keeping the community clean and stress-free.

Feel free to message me directly or call/text for more info: 307-223-1199. We’ve got you covered, big or small!

Thanks,
Cody Zayonc & Matt Smith

Any mobile mechanics in here?

Just got really fucked over by a mechanic yesterday, hopefully someone with a soul instead of a dead heart will respond. Just had an alternator installed but they didn't do the belt correctly. Please be an actual kind human if you respond, thanks 🔧 🚗

Realistic affordable housing

Are there any apartments that are affordable for a single person (under $1,000/month) that aren’t owned by a slumlord and allow a dog?

I’ve lived in Laramie for two years and I don’t think it’s physically possible to find a place to live that checks all three boxes.

Is UW exploring agrivoltaics?

Saw this awesome seminar series being offered by our neighbors down south at CSU and CUB. https://www.coagrivoltaic.org/agrivoltaic-seminars

Seems like it would be right up UW's ally as well. Curious if anyone in the area is researching this space. Seems like a really neat combination of infrastructure and agriculture.
