    Blood Bowl 3 question

Hey! Planning to grab BB3 when it goes on sale, which I’m assuming it will do later this month during steam winter sale.

I’m interested in playing the goblins and halflings. I understand you can unlock most teams for free by playing, but my time is limited so I’ll probably only get in one game a week at most, which I’m guessing won’t be enough to unlock them during the season.

Can someone tell me the most cost effective way to unlock Goblins and Halflings? Do I buy a premium blood pass? Do I buy the teams individually? I’ve tried googling and listening to some podcasts, but it’s wholly unclear to me.

    Thanks in advance!

    Lizards ready for Season 2

So here's my team for my second ever season, 5 retained players in all but my Sauruses and krox were not the most bloodthirsty last season, heres hoping for better thia time round! Have risked no apo to begin as should be able to get one quickly and 3 RR is a must I think, especially with not many skills. Any kept players were unskilled except a skink with safe pair of hands (it was a random, don't judge me!). Spending cap was 1300 btw. Bring it on!

Looking for online rules resources, playing in my first league ever and a little confused

    Hey,

Maybe the ADD is too strong but I'm having trouble parsing the nuances of league play and where you find rules around star players, inducements, how you do stuff when you're in a league vs one off games.

Can anybody help point me towards some resources here? Thank you!

    Help with Elves.

My partner go into BB a few month ago. Her 1st team is vampires and she's not having a great time with them. She's going to stick with them for the rest of our current leauge but she wants a more reliable team for next time.

She's thinking elves but not sure on what flavour to go for. I dont have much experience with elves and I'd like to give her some advice before she picks the new team.

    Thank you

    Inducement planner

I am currently deciding on a project for a university module on user design. My idea is to create an app or bit of software that can be used to plan your inducements for your next league game.

The general idea would be: -Enter your TV -Enter your opponent TV -Select your your team (Goblin, Dwarf, Orks, etc) -Select number of Journeyman

From here you can select standard inducements, star players (0-2) and possibly mercenaries. The software will calculate the cost, as well as any petty cash remaining and give you a brief description of everything induced.

Would this be something you would be interested in? Is this something that already exists? Any feedback would be great

any tips for playing Ogres into Norse?

I played against Norse before with Dwarves and got ripped in half, like 5 dudes knocked out in the drive bad.

So... should I just avoid the temptation of going for a side cage and bullrush the center?

So which guys do I bog down with gnoblars and which ones do I try to punch with the Ogres?

    A slightly facetious question:

Lizards vs Chorfs. It's Turn 16, 1-1 on the board, and the Skinks have the ball deep in their own half with nary a Chorf in the lizard half. All the safe blocks the lizards can make have been made, so coach decides the ball-carrier skink is going to pass the ball, just to scum an extra SPP for a completion.

Throws a 'Quick Pass' to a Chameleon. Inaccurate pass. Ball scatters three times. Lands on the skink who threw the ball. Skink catches his own pass.

Does that count as a completion?

Asking for a Skink who is 1SPP away from a level-up and will probably never manage something like that again in his career. 😂

    Beginner teams?

Hello sports fans! I'm looking into blood bowl, I have the games on steam, but want to try the table top. My flgs has a discord thread for it and I've seen some people say some of the teams aren't beginner friendly, so my question is, are they're teams better for new players? What do You suggest for newbs? I like nurgle, would the nurgle team be a good starter team?

    Team similar to Soulblight Gravelords?

I’m looking to get into blood bowl to play with some friends and I was wondering if there was a team with a similar vibe to the Soublight Gravelords from AoS. ie: skeletons and vampires. If there’s one that’s just skeletons that’d be perfect. If there isn’t anything like that, what would be a good recommendation for something similar?

In the process of painting my first model

Do I need to have this slot and the hole in the base for anything or can I fill it with green stuff and call it a day?

Also the team I'm picking are the Fire Mountain Gutbusters, but I might give them a different set of team colors

    WIP: Overgrown Undead

I've been reading a lot of Swamp Thing comics lately, and I got inspired. So I'm currently customizing my Necromantic Horror team with plant materials to make them into my own unique team of zombies and ghouls that have been taken over by nature and are now controlled by parasitic plants.

I just wanted to share because I got excited by the look of the first two.

(I will probably be adding more different plants such as mosses and flowers)

Facing a High Elf team for the first time. Help?

Hi folks. I have a dwarf team that is miraculously leading my league right now, and I'm going up against a VERY experienced high elf coach. Here's my issue: This is my first year playing tabletop, my frist high elf game ever, and I'm only kind of sure of what I'm doing. What are your "facing the high elf" tips? Anything would be helpful, cause I'm scraping a two-inch deep barrel. Thank you!

    Skaven Box Buying Recommendations?

Hello fellow coaches, I am beginner and need your advice in regard to my next potential team: Skaven.

I already own the "Black Orcs" (Starter Box, hence Varag and a Troll, too) and the "Gouged Eye Orcs".

    Option 1:

If I would buy the Skaven Box and the Underworld Denizens Box I would have three runners and a few linemen. In addition I could proxy the Black Orc goblins as snotlings for the Underworld team.

I'd have to get the 4th runner and the Rogre as 3rd party minis. Then I could also add some stars for Underworld and since I own 12 goblins (Blorcs & Underworld) I could also get some secret weapons and star players for them.

    Option 2:

The Brutefun TechRats are also availabe, giving me all the options for a better price, but too be honest I like the cartoony and goofy aesthetics of the GW skaven team more.

    Option 3:

The GW box + 2 3rd party runners and a Rogre. Would that be playable or am I missing something like more linemen?

    Option 4:

Buy 2 of the GW boxes but that would give me many minis I don't really need.

What do you think is the best approach? Maybe I've missed another good option. And if it's option 1 what are the star players I should get (Underworld, Goblins, maybe Snotlings in the future)?

    Thx for your help/advice :)!

    TV1000 Dwarf Start?

Experimenting with Dwarves at the minute. When I first got into the hobby just before the pandemic, all I heard about Dwarves is "Dwarves are boring; Dwarves are dull". So I never really played more than the occasional exhibition match with them.

Played a 20-game ladder with them online and very much enjoyed them. I don't buy into what's 'dull' about them at all; I think it's just what players say to gaslight others into not playing Dwarves, since nobody wants to have to deal with a team full of Block (and a significant amount of Tackle). They also only really need Guard & Mighty Blow to be 'finished' development-wise (with exception to the Runners, who probably want developing further with 2x MA+, Sure Feet & Sprint to become the world's fastest Dwarves)

Running them again for another ladder, but my start last time was this:

    • 2x Troll Slayers
    • 2x Blitzers
    • 2x Runners
    • 5x Linemen
    • 2x Re-rolls
    • 3(4) Dedicated Fans.

Now that I understand Dwarves a bit better and understand the impact they have at low, mid and high TVs, I'm considering something more like:

    • 2x Runners
    • 9x Linemen
    • 2x Re-Rolls
    • 5(6) Dedicated Fans
    • Apo(?)

Unsure whether to take the Apo here and now, or leave the Apo for now and deliberately getting a TV900 Dwarf team for inducements (probably Bribes TBF; maybe a biased ref if I get more?). I could take more re-rolls, but I've found that Dwarves rarely need re-rolls for blocking dice thanks to Block, and with the Runners having Sure Hands you don't use them for picking up the ball either. If anything I've found most of them get spent on re-rolling Dauntless. I bought as many as four re-rolls towards the end of my last league, but found myself finishing halves with one or two left on the board. 4 is about right for Lizards; Dwarves don't need 'em so much.

I appreciate I'm still learning how to build and play Dwarves properly, so any suggestions from seasoned Dorf coaches would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Spending money in a tournament?!

Hey folks There are tons of videos and posts about getting a starting roster and the first abilities.

But I missed - even in my experience - any suggestions or strategies, where I should spend my first earned money. So I'm happy for any advice.

Concrete: playing Necros 1 Werewolf with 6SSP 2 Wraiths 2 Golem 2 Ghoule (1 with 2 SSP) 4 Zombies (1 is heavy injured and missed the next game) 2 ReRolls

    I have 75k. I could get a 5th Zombie (45k) and get a the WWolf Block (20k). 10k in AssistTrainer or cheerleader?

Or I wait for the next game for a 2nd Werwolf or ReRoll? But I have to play one game outnumbered. This seems tricky.

So, it's your turn for advise. Thank you very much

    Greetings

    Game - morality - question

So , I’ve just started learning blood bowl. I joined a league so I could learn the ins and outs of the game and I have been having a good time. I picked up a denizen underworlds team (with skaven , goblins and snotlings)

I had a question about … I guess sportsmanship ? As I’m new to the game, but I have been playing games for over 25 years.

The scenario was - my team has 9 players knocked out / missing next game / injured as my opponents receiving drive has been very effective ! My team is getting its teeth kicked in, that’s all fine and good. Opponent has a lineman with the ball right next to the touchdown line and instead of just walking into the end zone decides to go out of their way to push one of my last players into the crowd for good measure. It made me feel rather shitty , so I conceded the remainder of the match. Like, I’m just learning… you are already kicking the tar out of my team … was the salt in the wound needed ?

Then again?! Here comes my question. Is that a - thing that is common in blood bowl? Like in a see that in tournament play , to make sure you secure a win and get trophies and such.

    • is it something that one should have a conversation with their opponent before hand ? Like with fouling and such ?

Anyhow , just want to learn the expectation and culture of the game itself. This has bow reflection on my opponent who was otherwise an awesome opponent, and me I guess a sore looser.

Thank you for your insight! Prayers to nuffle.

    Dark Elves lineup

I’m just getting into tabletop Blood Bowl and going to be playing in a local league. So at the moment I can only buy one box of the Dark Elves and I’m wondering what the best way to set up the team. So far I’m looking at 2 options, first is 5 lineman/2 blitzers/2 Runners/2 witch elves and 1 Reroll. Second is 6 lineman/2 blitzers/2 runners/ 1 witch elf(Elve?) 2 rerolls and 2 fans. Any help would be much appreciated!
