Help with rules for charging

Hei, I'm kinda new to the hobby, okay 3 games or so since I started a month ago, but just noticed that during a charge, you can declare a charge on more than one unit. But the second part confuses me and I have some questions:

  1. Does this mean my charge roll has to be enough to reach all units I target?
  2. If no, does this mean I could, for example, declare charge on enemies in two different directions, and then pick who based on my roll?

Actions when the bodyguard unit dies

Was playing a game recently where I had a unit with a leader begin an action that ended after my opponents turn. During his turn, he managed to kill the bodyguard but not the leader. Does this interrupt my action?

Finally beat Boltgun. What a great game.

That final battle was super intense and I only had it on medium difficulty! Can’t even imagine on super hard. Malum Caedo is a lost primarch, there is no other explanation!

Feel free to use this thread to share your favorite moments of the game. Onwards to the DLC!

Filling Hollow Bodies

So I am magnetizing my army. They are mostly hollow models. I'm trying to fill them. I'm using Green Stuff, but I'm wondering if there is a better option, like fast curing resin? Or something else that will flow in easily, set and make magnetizing easier. Any and all advice is appreciated.

New to the book's

Hi all,

A friend of mine got be my first Warhammer 40k book as an early birthday present and I'm a bit confused as to whether or not there's any earlier books I should read before jumping into this one.

Any advice would be appreciated.

How much lore do I need to read to make homebrew stuff

I've always liked 40k in terms of artistic style
and the setting but I'm not interested in the table top game at all. I started reading the books last year because I want to get into the lore. I've only finished 10ish books so far. All out of order HH books and a few 40k books. I want to make some original fanart/comic, make my own space marine chapter but I don't want to make mistakes of having the wrong armor/weapons/markings,etc. How much lore do I need to read/to become familiar with to make homebrew stuff (art rmainly)

I need help choosing an army.

Ok as the title says i'm struggling to chose an army ^^.
So there is some point to help me :

  • I don't like Chaos.
  • Difficulty is no something i care about, i will do the necessary to learn and train it.
  • I love Psykers, i know Thousand Suns, but Chaos.

I have play some armies so i know what i like and dislike about them :

Astra Militarum : (2 games), i really like the fact you can choose between a lot of differents units, but the army rely to much on his battletank to do damages and they don't have access to psykers.

Dark Angels : (3 games), i love the powerfull melee unit, the mobility and deep strike of some units, the access to the space marine equipment. I would like more possibilities in the army composition, i should try generic space marine maybe.

Custodes : (1 game) Powerfull unit but not enough unit choice for me and too straightforward strategy.

Grey Knight : (4 games) I love the army rule with the teleportation, i like the strong melee unit and the gameplay arround the objectivs but i feel like the shooting and anti tank is lacking and not enough choice in the army.

T'au Empire : (2 games) Mostly because the unit models are really nice, but i didn't like the shooting only army.

Do that's it, to resume i like armies who heavily play arround objectivs (secondary) with good specialised unit, good mobility arround the map with different possibilities of army building and gameplay.

From the armies i tested i really like the Grey Knight, i was thinking about testing the Eldar.

How to Tell What's Forgeworld and What's Finecast?

I'm looking at adding some Venetari to my Custodes army (if they ever come back in stock), but I'm trying to stay away from finecast. However, I can't tell if they're Forgeworld or finecast.

The unit description says:

The Legio Custodes Custodian Venetari Squad includes three complete miniatures, each cast in finest-quality resin...

Does that mean it's finecast? Is there any way to tell what is what when dealing with Warhammer? As I said, I really don't want to buy finecast.
