A Google search for Star Ship (published under the name Outer Space by Sears) will reveal overall fairly negative reviews, yet my experience with it ever since I first played it on an Atari Flashback Portable has been rather positive. While none of its game variations are deep, its 2-player modes are decently fun, and its 1-player modes are rather relaxing with their pleasant sounds, clean visuals, and lack of failure conditions.
Hi, a friend salvaged an Atari 2600 from their families home but the box is ruined - can you get replica boxes to buy? Or do people sell the boxes only.
This Month we celebrate 42 Years of the release of Raiders of the Lost Ark! Here's a little story about my connection with this game. In 2007 I was a FLASH (R.I.P.) developer and trying out some game remakes. So I thought why not make one of my favorite atari game & movie remake? So I ended up creating the Raiders remake and posted it in some forum or website - I don't recall where exactly - and forgot about it.
Years later, out of nowhere, I receive an email by someone who found me by an article written by no other than the original game programmer Howard Scott Warshaw! My remake was reviewed in an article written by him on some magazine in the UK. I never new about. Thanks Howard for the original game and my remake review! For those interested in playing the original, I posted (for free) it on the internet archive. link in the comments.
I 3D printed a mini Atari cartridge and designed a custom label for it to give to my dad for Christmas this year. Just wanted to share. He and I don't live near each other but when he visits we always play Atari together.
Or even dabbled in homebrew, for that matter. What were you working on, how did that process go?
Unfortunately, I don’t know their name. This is a still from footage I shot back then.
My wife is getting me the Atari 2600+ For Christmas, and I can't recall a time in my adult life that I've been so excited about a gift... She's the best!
I first played Night Driver in a CD-ROM collection of Atari 2600 and arcade games around 2004 and was captivated by it. Its minimalist appearance and apparent lack of objectives gave it a mysterious feel that made me want to drive along and experience its endless roads. Try its timed modes to challenge yourself, or try its endless modes if you just need to relax and unwind.
Hello- With Atari’s Black Friday deals, I wanted to check if there has been any news regarding an update to the 2600+ that would enable to work with carts that do not work with the original release. The last time I read through the Atari Age forums, it looked like a Atari needed the Stella team to do more of their magic but it also sounded like the Stella team may have needed to pause work for awhile.
Thanks!
Hi Does anyone know if the new Atari 2600 supports Multirom carts?
I have a Crocodile Cart and wonder if it will work on the new unit.
Please forgive me for a question thwt feels either stupid or common enough for an faq! Last year the 2600+ replica my husband wanted was sold out, so I snapped up one from Amazon last week. It came in and it seems... Really small compared to what I'm remembering of the orininal I used to have. Is my little girl memory making it larger than I remember? Seriously, the lego Atari he has is bigger. Am I buying the wrong thing? I thought the husk was an exact replica, and maybe it is and I'm just making it bigger than it was...?
I have an old CRT TV to use.
