Problems with sound

Hi, i'm having problems with my sound on my computer. The AMD High Definition Audio Device is showing up in Device Manager under Sound, video and game controllers, but not under Audio inputs and outputs (see picture), so I can't choose that as the default output audio device. I've tried drivers or adding a device, both of which didn't work. I've also tried troubleshooting, but since the AMD High Definition Audio Device doesn't show up, that was no help either. Any help?

[TESTED] Yet Another Potentially Working fix for RX 7600 Driver Timeouts

TLDR: Reinstall drivers and select the 'drivers only' option in AMD setup, then change the gpu clock limit to the base boost clock using MSI Afterburner or similar software (for base RX 7600 it should be 2655 Mhz).

I have tested this using an RX7600 on both mine and a friend's computer and since application neither of us have experienced any crashes for weeks. I have absolutely no idea why the clock down to base boost does not stop it if done through Amd Adrenalin but it does if done through other software.

New Motherboard for 9950X3D

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: GTX 4090

CPU: Ryzen 9 7950X3D

Motherboard: X670E Taichi

BIOS Version: 3.18.AS01

RAM: 32GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 3600MHZ

PSU: CORSAIR 1000W

Description: Hello, I am planning to upgrade my CPU to the 9950X3D when it is released. I currently have the X670E Taichi motherboard. I was wondering whether it is worth upgrading my motherboard as well and if yes, does anyone have any recommendations? If it is worth upgrading, I would rather do it now while I have the funds. I have done my own research, but was still unclear whether upgrading was worthwhile. Thank you in advance.

Every 1-2 days Adrenalin stops working

https://preview.redd.it/1zx6cekcg3he1.png?width=756&format=png&auto=webp&s=eaf3f3cff168eb09818056876f5fdd9ee1ef14ba

Every couple of days somethin happens to Adrenalin and it stops launching. So I have to DDU it. Sounds like Windows updates drivers but I disabled it in DDU. Any ideas?

My ryzen 5800x temps are staying far too high

So like I said my cpu temps seems way to high even for the 5800x. Idle temps sit at about 55c at best and when I boot up any game it jumps up to 88c - 90c.

I have no air flow issues because I took the side panel off my PC. I've already replaced the thermal paste and made sure the cooler was mounted well. Even turned the power settings back down to Balanced in windows. And I'm not overclocking in any way.

My build is ryzen 5800x 3.8, rtx 3050, 2x16 gigs of ram, cpu cooler is just the basic cooler that came with my old ryzen 5 Any advice on how to move forward would be appreciated

Edit: in summary my cooler isn't up for the task and I need to upgrade it. Thank you to everyone for contributing.

Ryzen 7500f and 7800xt

Hello,

I bought my first gaming PC this year. I am using a ryzen 7500f with a 7800xt.

My question. Since the 7500f is only a 6 core CPU and games like Doom the dark ages already needs 8 cores I wanted to know if I have to upgrade already if I want to run 8 core games?

I plan to buy the 9800x3d towards the end of the year anyway

Hello! I'll be taking my PC soon to install my new 5700X3D CPU, and I'm worried about the BIOS version, even though I've did a research and I found out I support the CPU (After version F10 is supported and I have the F12). My motherboard is B550M DS3H.

Will I be okay if I just ask the professional to just update the BIOS? I'm personally scared to risk by getting a power shortage or something, I can just ask them to update the BIOS just in case for the new CPU installation.

But let's say I don't update the BIOS, is stated on the motherboard's website the 5700X3D is supported after F10, so does that mean I can just run it well without any issue? For me is strange, because the CPU has been out from the start of 2024 and I bought the B550M DS3H back in 2021 I think? I don't remember, it was long time ago, and I checked CPU-Z my BIOS is at F12 and my rev. of the board is 1.0 I saw it written on the corner of the board.

That's my worries. Thanks in advance! I can't wait to install this CPU

Motherboard help

Hi everyone,

Apologies for the newbie question. I'm just getting into PC gaming and I'm slowly putting together a parts list for my first ever build. But I'm really stuck on the Motherboard.

I'm going for an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D (when it comes out), a 4090, and probably just one m.2.

I'm looking at an all white build and I was hoping for a white motherboard, but I'm really confused. I thought I wanted an x870e, but I'm a bit lost.

I've read a lot about lane sharing with your gpu. I believe I want high vrm for good overclocking. But as I say, very confused.

If anyone has any good advice for me, I'd really appreciate it. Again, I'm not very savvy so please keep it simple for my simple brain.

Thanks everyone 🙂

9800X3D Temps Help

Hey all!

I just put together a new pc and having some problem with the idle/gaming temps.

My setup:
9800x3D
NZXT Kraken Elite 360 AIO CPU Liquid Cooler (pre-applied thermal paste)
Asus ProArt Motherboard
RTX 5090 FE
Corsair Dominator Titanium 6000 2x32 GB

NZXT and HWiNFO says that my idle temp is 46 and Armory Crate(Asus Motherboard app) says that it's 35. I don't know which one to believe? While gaming it's around 60s and when loading something and %100 load it jumps to 85 for a few seconds then dropping to 60s very fast.

I set the PBO -30 already. Which helped 2-3 degrees down.

Temp readings: https://imgur.com/a/2xf0PXM

I see people mention they are seeing 38-39 as idle temps and was wondering if I did something wrong?

Thank you!

Capture gameplay video

I've got RX 570 and it's Ok for the games that I'm currently playing. I used to be able to capture my gameplay video using it just fine but not recently. Just can't get it to work regardless of the software I'm using. I'm wondering if my graphics card isn't supported with the latest driver.

AMD high def audio drivers not working

I have my TV connected to my GPU (rx 6600) for audio through an HDMI to Displayport cable but my mircophore wasn't working so I uninstalled all of my audo drivers and reionstalled them and now it isn't showing up in inputs, only in the drivers.

Im kind of freaking out and stressed man, im wayyy to high for this and im not handling it well.

I'll highlight my output/input and my drivers, I don't knwo what I'm missing. If I plug in my HDMI to my motherboard it shows up as an audio device but under a realtek name.

7900 Series Cards + 9800X3D + 32GB 6400MHZ Stuttering Issue -with Windows Diagnostics Error Reports

So you guys out there posting about stuttering issues on the 7900xtx cards are not alone, I know we arent making it up, I've also followed every recommendation from EXPO to PBO fresh install of Windows Drivers and Chipsets to turning off all AI overclocking and Optimizing and about everything in Bios, Started out thinking it had something to do with the Corsair RAM (x2-32GB 6400mhz) as i tried turning the speeds to JDEC which caused a crash that i had trouble booting out of. Once I booted finally, the system set my RAM Speed to 4800 max, things seemed fine but I would get stuttering and crashing still. Then I seen posts with my same symptoms, and those people also had the 9800x3d so i began thinking it was a processor issue but after running cinebench and memtest64 and a few other diagnostic programs everything came back fine. I was stumped. decided it had to be a power delivery issue on the Gigabyte X870 Aorous Elite Wifi7 boards ram ports. Got a Asus ROG STRIX X870 MB and fresh installed Windows11 and all the drivers/chipset drivers. was still running into boot issues on cold start and some restarts but it was significantly better than the Gigabyte board.

Then scrolling r/AMD i saw others having these issues with the 7900 series cards. So we are narrowing it down.

So far I have seen these issues have been mentioned repeatedly

  • Power delivery Issue on RAM Ports on the X870 Boards when turning RAM speeds above 4800-5800 (possibly associated with a Bios Update that was implemented)
  • 7900XTX/xt VRAM issues they may require RMA or may be fixed in a upcoming BIOS Update/Drivers Update
  • possibly large amounts of faulty Corsair x2-32gb 64000mhz RAM out there, as I've seen atleast 3 posts with these same symptoms and they had this same RAM (same as I have)
  • Running two monitors off the same card at different Resolutions / Refresh Rates causing some kind of Driver Issue.
  • AI Optimizations not allowing proper voltage to critical components.

things that have helped my stutter go down, (but i still have boot issues on cold start ups and some restarts)

Turning off all AI optimizations in Bios and in software, including all modifications made by Ryzen Master and AMD Adrenaline Software.

someone mentioned something to do with "Kernel" im not some tech guru that knows what that is lol but i know thats probably a good lead as I have ran Windows Diagnostic Software and "Kernel" is mention in one of the error codes.

Ive have included all the screenshots from the Windows Diagnostic Software so we can compare codes and track down the issue for sure.

can someone explain how i can remedy these errors? (Explain like im Five)

AMD has detected a driver timeout.

Just upgraded my ram from some shitty Oloy 2100 Mhz 16gb to 32gb 3600 Mhz and now I keep getting this error randomly and especially when I launch games; it instantly closes them. Anybody know any fixes? Have tried updating drivers and thats about it, wanted to get smarter peoples input before I do something stupid.

Specs: Gigabyte B450 motherboard (im sorry), 650w power supply, radeon rx 6600, ryzen 5 5500, and ram mentioned above

Problems with my Rx 6600 xt

My PC keeps showing a black screen whenever I full screen on a game or after a while of playing. I was also checking the temps and gpu usage and it was normal, so I went on an online game and when the problem occurred my character was really laggy. And it keeps boot looping randomly and when the PC finally opens I see that the my graphic driver's are deleted and I have to redownload them. When I removed the GPU all the problems went away.I also downloaded old graphics drivers and it didn't change anything. And I also redownloaded windows 10 multiple times.

adaptive sync issue on rainbow six siege

When I tried to use the adaptive sync feature on my RX 6800 while playing rainbow six siege, my fps would become very unstable and my fps would drop a lot. But if I turn off adaptive sync, it goes back to normal. I tried adaptive sync with other games such as, fortnite, GTAV, marvel rivals, and even roblox. On those games, it worked flawlessly. I have used adaptive sync on rainbow six siege before and my fps didn't become unstable or drop. This would've been months ago. My monitor is a viewsonic xg251g. It is certified g sync but not free sync. The feature still works as normal though. It is only rainbow six siege that I seem to have problems with. Here are my system specs

gpu: RX 6800

cpu: intel core i5-13600k

ram: 32gb ddr4

monitor: viewsonic xg251g

Can someone explain the decrease in FPS when I swapped ram?

I have a 9800x3D on an ASRock x870e Taichi and originally had a Corsair Vengeance (32x2GB) DDR5 6400mhz CL32 kit 32-40-40-84 (CMK64GX5M2B6400C32). I changed the frequency to 6000mhz as it was really unstable on 6400mhz. It seemed mostly fine but I kept getting stutters so I thought maybe it was the ram.

Today I swapped it out for another Corsair Vengeance (32x2GB) DDR5 CL32 kit 30-36-36-72 (CMK64GX5M2B6000Z30) and while the stutters remain the same… I get about 20-30 FPS less on average in games.

Can anyone explain why this could be if they were both running at the same frequency?

Also I really can’t even begin to figure out why I keep getting microstutters and it is driving me insane.

I’ve never used afterburner, I’ve manually enabled C-States, my ram is running 1:1.. I’m losing my mind.

I’m also running an RTX 4090 and this build is brand new and windows is a fresh install.

If anyone can help I’d greatly appreciate it!

Swapping to AMD 9800 x3D from 14900 K and need help

Hello everyone,

I saved up for a few years and in 2023 bought a new PC from Cyber Power PC. Well it had a 13900 K and you guys I am sure are aware of what happened with intel. I am now swapping to AMD as my intel CPU (originally 13900 K and then had 2 rma 2 times already and yes I have been consistenly updating bios and all of that stuff) the 14900 K has instability issues with some games crashing and some problems booting up. I am getting tired of it, so I ordered the asus rog strix b650e-f gaming wifi along with the 9800 x3d.

My current set up has 2 2 TBs of WD black SN850X (one of them is the boot drive) and also a 4 TB WD black SN850X and I have a RTX 4080 with 2 6000 MHz CL 30 DDR5 Ram. I do have an 8 TB HD (very slow now though) that I have from several years ago that I could transfer the stuff from the boot drive over. I have a few questions though.

1st: Do I need to remove all of the intel drivers installed and if so when (before the transfer after the transfer)?

2nd: If I have to reinstall windows, do I just have to worry about that on my boot drive and wipe that or do I have to worry about that with all 3 ssds? I really hope it's just the boot drive.

3rd: Do I need to reinstall windows to avoid problems and does that mean I have to reinstall all of the drivers support too such as Nvidia Geforce, Wifi, and all the other stuff like ASUS stuff too. I assume the Software for my monitors is fine right, like that's built in the monitor and not installed on the SSDs?

4th: My liquid cooling for the CPU is straight from Cyber Power PC but they didn't give me a seperate mount that if I ever switched to AMD could use, do I have to get a new liquid cooler? If I can get a mount specific to that for AMD with the new CPU?

5th: What's the best settings for the CPU and motherboard such as bios and what not? I want it to be fast but stable.

6th: Am I missing anything else that you guys can think of for swapping platforms and everything besides transferring files and all the other questions I asked?

I appreciate all of the help and am excited about hopefully finally having a fast PC that doesn't crash on some games like fortnite or have problems booting. Thanks for reading my ted talk.

7900xtx Sapph Nitro - just had to rollback from the optional 25.1.1

AsRock x670E Taichi, 7800x3d.

Used PC all day for work then right at end of day I noticed the sound went away, then videos would not play so I shrugged and rebooted.

After login there was a longer than usual delay, then couldn't do anything explorer constantly crashing - desktop flashing & no taskbar. Was able to run task from task manager tried to reinstall latest driver (full) which was still on my desktop to no avail. Was able to reinstall with driver only, but still had issue, tried full install and failed again - with could not access directory message.

Rolled back to windows checkpoint taken at driver install and all is well. It was good for days...until it wasn't. First issue I have had since I got the card.

Not too ticked and not even that solid a root cause - just sharing info in case someone else runs into a similar issue

Black screen when go fullscreen on google or some apps

I am having a series of problems with my RX 5700 XT graphics card, this led me to ask here if anyone has a solution.

The problem arises when I try to put on a video or movie or whatever that involves full screen, after a few seconds or directly when I remove the full screen, my PC goes into a black screen which freezes my mouse and doesn't let me do anything else It can also happen that it comes back after a few seconds but my speaker no longer works until I restart the computer. This only happens with my second monitor, which is at a resolution of 1360x768 (I have a TV). If anyone has a solution, please share it with me, I'm desperate.

I've already tried mpo_Disable but it just doesn't work.

7900 xtx hdmi arc not detecting my speaker at all

I've been trying to switch to hdmi arc for my audio output on my PC. Currently, my sound bar is connected through aux to the motherboard's integrated sound card. I wanted to try the HDMI arc output setting on my sound bar through my gpu's integrated sound to compare the quality, but it won't even show up in my audio output devices in windows 11 sound settings. The weird thing is that my monitor that's connected through a DP cable shows up in my audio devices despite the fact that it has no speakers. I've checked to see if my drivers are up to date in adrenaline, and it says they are too, so Idk why its not detecting it at all. Should I try a DP to HDMI cable or something?

A quick question regarding R7 9800X3D...

As the title mentioned I have a question regarding my new CPU.

On my previou build, using an intel 12900K I always made sure to unpark all cores using a third party app. This is a practice I've done pretty much since it became a thing to get more performance way back on a i7 4790K.

The last time I had an AMD system was back in 2010 and back then I had an AMD Phenom II 965 BE. So I'm pretty new to the new gen Ryzen stuff.

My question is should I still unpark cores the same way or is there no need anymore?

HDMI driver uninstalled when I installed latest driver for RX 5700 after a fresh Windows install

As the title says, I recently reinstalled Windows and had everything working properly. When i tried to install AMD Radeon Experience, it directed me to a small download, which I thought was weird, then the "instalation" uninstalled my HDMI driver and now my LG monitor isn't recognized as an output device anymore.

Any help, tips or insight is more than welcome!
