Hello everyone this Sunday I'll be opening an RC Track this Sunday from 10 AM till 7 PM. Every Sunday after that it should be open from 5:30 till 8:30 PM. This Sunday from 2pm - 5pm (ish) @ Slice and Dice on Wyoming. Bring your minis, terrain, etc... to paint or work on building. Minis must be primed in advance if you plan to paint. Figures for any game system or interest allowed. Hang out, paint or build, and have some social time while getting some hobby time in! Bring your own supplies.

For those who want to learn: I have a limited number of primed minis, paints, and brushes you are welcome to learn with. If you plan to come to learn, please message me to RSVP so I can make sure I bring enough minis. If you want to learn on a mini of your choosing, please prime it in advance - We don't want to be doing a bunch of spray painting in the parking lot. You will have a choice of learning with acrylics or speedpaints. If you want to learn acrylics you will need a wet pallet; I do not have extras to share. For a better experience, you may want to buy your own brushes.

Do I need to buy anything?
Please buy food and/or drinks to support Slice & Dice. They also have painting supplies for sale.

What's the difference between Speedpaints and Acrylics? Most of the high level painters you've seen on YouTube use acrylics to get high level of detail like you might see on a Warhammer box. Speed paints get you a good looking table ready mini fast, but aren't going to win you a painting competition.

Tuesday October 29th we will be hosting a fun Horror Trivia Night. Questions will range from easy in difficulty to even some that dedicated horror fans may have troubles getting! The Maxwell Museum of Anthropology on UNM is doing an ancient game night on Thursday 9/26 in collaboration with their Cuneiform exhibit.

They will have the Royal Game of Ur, but you are welcome to bring other games to play as well. Free food too!

It's brand new, the radiator and pump have never been opened, I did unbox it to double check the fit and it was just a few mm too thick (pcpartpicker said it would fit...go figure)

Would anyone be interested in combining some hobby time with social time? Thinking about organizing a mini painting meet up at Slice & Dice. Bring your minis and paints and hang out while you work on them. All games/minis welcome. I could also teach folks who want to learn to paint, and provide some paints and brushes for learning with. I'm thinking Saturdays or Sundays daytime.

Hey everyone, recently moved here from Illinois. Loving NM so far very much!

I live in Santa Fe and I notice that there’s a very strong tabletop gaming culture in the city and seemingly NM in general, which is awesome. But I don’t seem to hear nearly as much about video games. I’ve been an avid video gamer since my first trip to the arcade in the early 80’s and I’ve always loved going to video game conventions around the Midwest when I lived there. Any video game cons ever come through our beautiful state? Or is our only option to drive to Texas or Arizona for that?

Hello fellow Nerds! I am a nerd of the fungal variety 🍄 I wanted to let you all know about an opportunity to nerd out about mushrooms this weekend! Please join us for an educational forage at Pajarito Ski Area. Well will have an introduction to foraging talk, discuss why people forage, what to look for, and talk about fungal ecology and maybe even get into DNA sequencing. We will conclude the day by cheffing up the edible mushrooms we’ve foraged. Donation is encouraged but not required, we want everyone to be able to join regardless of their financial situation.

Most members are in their 20’s/30’s. It’s a supportive, diverse, and inclusive community of people in ABQ. There are members that are straight, gay, bi, trans, men, women, hispanic, black, white, asian, etc, etc. People in the server tend to be into nerdier hobbies like TTRPGs, Gaming, Anime, and etc, but there’s also people going to the gym, raves, and wider range of hobbies. At times we have large server meet-ups where everyone is invited to a single place, but many people also meet weekly in smaller groups. You don’t have to want to meet in person to be a part of the discord, there are people who just want to chat with other people in ABQ. It’s a very supportive place to get things off of your chest, celebrate, ask questions, and bond with other people.
