Any chance anyone knows what yarn this is? I’m in the middle of a blanket for my daughter and am running out of it. I bought it at Walmart about a year ago probably? I assumed it was a Bernat baby blanket yarn but I can’t find it anywhere online and haven’t seen it in the store in a while. Of course my toddlers think it’s hilarious to tear all the labels off my yarn 🤦🏻♀️ Please help!
There are so many gorgeous cakes on offer that are just so so beautiful, but I rarely use cakes because I never know what to make with them, but the colours are inspiring me to make so many lovely items for everyone I know, even though I already have 5 WIPs on the go, plus I have no storage available in my current stash, but did I mention that they're beautiful and on sale?! Self control needed.
I have an odd love of untangling and winding massively messed up yarn barf, is it something I could turn into a little side hustle?
I'd have to figure out how to charge, probably per gram, but it is something people would actually pay to have done?
I know a few people who have given up on untangling and just thrown out lots of yarn instead of trying to untangle it.
Hi! I’m getting ready to make a blanket for my toddler and can’t decide between 100% cotton or a cotton/bamboo blend. It will be intended as a bedspread, so I want it to be comfy to sleep with while also durable. Thanks for any input!
My company is buying a warehouse that was part of a factory that has pallets of yarn and thread from cnc knitting machines.
We are probably going to have to dumpster it. Do you guys have any idea how I could quickly save this stuff? Its been there for 2 years.
St Louis region.
Thanks.
Sorry I live in South America, I’m new to crochet and I can’t figure out the weight of this and other yarns available at local stores
I was thinking of trying yarn subscription boxes. I think it would be better if I can pick the weight I'm sent but ok if not.
Hello! I got this yarn in a bag of mill ends from Spotlight (major craft store in Australia) and I’m trying to work out what it is. I thought maybe a Caron cake but they seem to be 4+ colours, and this is only three. It is peachy orange, brown, and cream. I suspect a wool/acrylic blend but I’m not certain… thanks in advance!
My previous storage system was overflowing so I finally did something about it. The color coordinated stacking bins are so satisfying.
I'm looking for this skein of yarn! My friend showed me the headband that she made and I loved the colors but I'm unable to find the thing anywhere. I've even gone as far as messaging the Big Twist customer service, but sadly, the email doesn't work.
Hoping someone here had a few extra or maybe knows where I can get it.
Big Twist / Carousel / Wildflower
Way heavier than expected! I used Bernat blanket super bulky yarn North Sea for the blue, and Threads & Loops super bulky black for the border, all in single crochet with an 8mm hook. Very proud of it!
Hello! I am an avid crocheter but I suck at shopping for yarn.
I am looking forward to making this cardigan: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1780739519/the-lightly-toasted-cardigan-crochet
The beautiful swirl motifs remind me of muscle fibers, so I would like to make this pattern with a red toned varigated yarn. Ideally something deep and bloody! I would prefer a red varigated yarn that does not have blue or purple in it, but would be ok with pink and/or white.
I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions! I would also like the yarn to be a natural fiber, so I'd be all good with cotton, linen, wool, bamboo, etc. just nothing acrylic, nylon, or polyester.
Thank you in advance for your help ❤️
What is worse for the yarn addict who’s trying to knit or crochet? Cats or kids? I can make an argument for both as cats like to run off with your yarn and kids will interrupt your project to ask a math question and completely mess up any counting you’re doing. So let’s poll Reddit for the results…
Hello fellow knitters I will be listing all of my sock yarn 🧶 most of my needles, circular & sock, cords pretty much everything. Please check back on yarn swap if possible just unable to knit anymore too sad for me. Thank you
I’m designing a set of crocheted cushion covers inspired by movie scenes which would need multiple, quite specific colours. I’m looking for a yarn brand that has a good colour variety that I can also afford to buy quite a few skeins from! Thank you in advance
So I have a project which needs three colours of yarn, but I only have one colour right now. I have a bunch of leftover hair bleach and dye as well as some regular bleach I think. How can I take my army green yarn to whitish yarn, and then dye a portion of it black so I can use it on this project? Any help would be appreciated!!
WHAT YARN??
I can’t remember where I bought this but I’m using it for a project and I’m nervous I’ll run out. Anyone know what it could be? It’s a cotton and it’s got some metallic like chevron running through it!
90% sock yarn because I got really into socks over the past year. I'm branching out into cowls to try use some of it up. It's a lot less than I often see here but still very intimidating to imagine using it all up, haha.
I have been running into major issues trying to buy yarn on Hobbii's website this week. First i was unable to updated my shipping location to the US and was only given options for a limited number of countries. No i'm unable to fully checkout and have been caught in a constant loop between their billing address and cart pages. I've bought plenty of yarn from them before with no problems.
Has anyone else tried to use Hobbii this week and encountered website issues? Trying to figure out if this is just me or the website is majorly buggy.
hello, i recently saw an etsy review for a pattern with a picture attached that has a colourway i really like, and i was wondering if anyone knows where i'll find a chunky yarn (preferrably wool or a wool blend) that matches or is similar? unsure if it was one ball of yarn or if it was a couple being used at once - any help would be amazing, thank you :)
(ive left out the review purely for the privacy of the reviewer - picture attached)
Hi there! I’ve been knitting for two weeks now and my #1 objective is to be able to knit my own socks.
I’m not trying to do them yet bc the yarn I own is mostly acrylic (inherited) and I suppose it’s not the best material for them (and idk if they’re itchy)
I’ve been reading that the best options are nylon and wool, but the brands I’m used to barely sell different colours (Spain based).
I don’t want to waste my precious time on socks I won’t be able to wear due to material. But if I buy some, I’m afraid to start doing them and make mistakes with expensive wool lol.
•Should I start with the yarn I already own? I wear socks at home too, but again, I only read bad reviews about acrylic yarn 🥲
•Should I buy the appropriate yarn, so they can be usable for many purposes?
•If anyone is Spain based as well, I’d like to see some recommendations of specific yarns, as I only buy wool from local shops
Thank you for reading this. I’m a crocheter for years but I’m clueless (but amazed tho) about knitting. I’d be delighted to read pretty big answers and opinions on this matter 🥲🫶🏻
Yarn as a material for small crafts is slow and expensive to source. I'm specifically here b/c it's a new Gregorian year and that means Pantone just released their latest fashionable year-defining color. They've got links on their site on where to buy a phone in that color, furniture, even pre-made scarves. This means those partners had prior knowledge of the 2025 color so they could have products available for purchase immediately upon the announcement.
Where are small makers to get dye to produce the correct undertones? I personally do not dye my own yarn, so waiting for someone to formulate their own dye and produce enough yarn to sell will throw completion on anything I'd make to well further in the year.
I will appreciate your input. I am new to textile making, so still working out how the chains move.
