This color is discontinued and it’s the only color I need to finish a blanket— I just need one ball of any dye lot, it doesn’t matter.
I’ve already checked mercari, ebay, and ravelry yarn stash and there’s none for sale anywhere.
I will pay a lot of money for this one color if anyone has it. I’m seriously desperate at this point.
If anyone has any suggestions of other places to post this as well I’d take them. Or if anyone has dupe suggestions I’d also be interested. I checked yarnsub already and there’s texture dupes but no color dupe and color is really the most important part, I’m fine with it being the same weight (dk) and color but a different material blend.
Truly the worst yarn I have ever worked with. It unravels and also cords. The ply is inconsistent, and the texture rough. Don't waste your time or money.
I’m not great with understanding the grams per yard so I rely on the numbered categories. I was hoping to use both of these on a project when I ordered the love crafts yarn, but I’m going to have to change up my game plan.
We must encourage the children, y'all.
Would anyone happen to have Hobbii Tivoli 100% acrylic lot # 630860 in color # 02 in their stash? I’m making a sweater for my cousin and I’m not certain I will have enough to finish the full top and I can’t find any other than the xl version for sale online…. I bought this off a local woman who had surgery and wouldn’t be able to knit for a long while so I have no idea when they stopped making/selling it but I could probably use at least 1-2 more skeins if that’s possible for anyone to part with 1-2…
Hi everyone,
I am based in Canada, and the most convenient store for me to purchase yarn is Michael’s (based on where I live). Whenever I need to place an order, I’ve noticed slight discrepancies with yarn for the same colour.
For example, I had purchased rhubarb (chenille home slim by Loops and Threads) earlier in the year. When it came time to get another skein since my original one finished, I noticed the texture was a lot less smoother than what I had got the first time. The colour was consistent, though. Upon doing some research, I realized it may have been a yarn lot issue.
How do y’all ensure your yarn lots stay consistent (if purchased from Michael’s)? Can we place an order for specific lots?
Thanks in advance!
I have a collection of patterns from Annie's Attic, for those fancy historical dresses and bridal gowns that fit 11.5" (Barbie sized) dolls. The pattern books all display the finished costumes on (apparently) Barbies with elaborately styled hair, but they never say where those lovely dolls can be obtained. Does anyone know?
Saw a youtuber using a sweater made with yarn with sparkling sequins. It's probably store bought but I would like to knit one because I find it super pretty. Where can I find something similar? Thanks in advance.
Hi everybody! I’ve been an avid crocheted/knitter since a really young age (my grandmother taught one day when I probably was annoying her). I see people all the time posting brands I’ve never heard of or have no idea where to buy. I usually go to Michael’s or hobby lobby for yarn, but I’m wondering if I’m missing out on other yarn brands. How did you all find them and what am I missing out on? Is the quality better than chain stores? Is it more eco friendly? More ethically made?
I bought this years ago in this light lime yellow green and a bright hot pink. It’s super soft. I think it’s an acrylic, super fuzzy. I might have gotten it a Joanne’s but I’m not sure.
Basically the title. I bought 2 skeins of Mainstays 100% Cotton Yarn to make a secret Santa gift. Does it hold up alright? If not, I’ll swap to another cotton before I get too far. This is for a kitchen towel and hot pad set.
The start light and metallico I'm excited to use.
I dunno about the dolce glitter yarns since I don't use those types of yarns often.
The Bag definitely did deliver in value, even if not all of it is shiney
Hello everyone! The time has come where everyone is preparing their yearly blankets. I plan on participating this coming year but would like to see other’s set ups. Instead of doing a temperature blanket I think I wanna do a book blanket. Which is basically crocheting for each book I read. I’m thinking of doing granny squares with different colors for different genres but I also wanna see how everyone else does it as I’m unsure of what I wanna do about the page count. Looking for some inspiration!
TLDR: planning on doing a book blanket similar to a temperature blanket. Looking for advice and inspiration
What materials would you say this plushie is made from? Credits to r/fuzzypipe
I found this on the side of a road the other day. Someone suggested that I might try here and see if anyone knows what yarn was used
As the title suggests, I need help finding a retailer in Canada (or one that ships to Canada) that sells Lang Cloud yarn. My searches have come up dry for the most part, with the few retailers I do find only stocking one or two colours or are just perpetually out of stock to begin with.
I'm open to hearing about any dupes as well, I just love how beautiful the colour changes look! So anything else that may work up similar would also be great.
Thanks in advance!
Working on some mittens. Probably just being picky, but halfway through the hank I bought and it seems to be getting lighter with more white spots. It's Malabrigo Rios in Heirloom Vegetables (mohair is same color and brand). Has anyone else experienced this? I've used their yarns before and haven't experienced this. Thanks!
Has anyone used Hawthorne yarn (DK)? I ordered some for a hat and am wondering if it’s actually as good as a brand as I’ve heard, I want to impulse buy more but haven’t gotten the first order in yet!
Thanks!
I was gifted this hat and am wanting to recreate it. So I would love help figuring out if it’s knit or crochet. Also if anyone knows the pattern or something similar please link it. Thank you in advance!
Micheals had a really good sale so I order a bunch of chinelle yarn from loops and treads.
I bought their skinny chinelle, sweet snuggles chenille and chenille home slim.
currently I'm working with chenille home slim and it's so hard to start projects off! It just keeps piling and tugging on it to close magic rings makes it snap. For now, I'm just using the sc method instead of magic rings. I find that once you start, it gets easier, but man did I waste a lot of yarn attempting magic ring so many times
So I am wanting to use this beautiful Hobbii yarn to make my baby, due next April, a dress. The only issue is that it’s size 1 super fine yarn and I haven’t been able to find any suitable patterns to use it for. Which makes sense considering it’s sock yarn lol
So I was thinking if I double up the yarn I could make it thicker so I could perhaps find a pattern to use it with. However I’m not sure how to size it. I have two options to double it with, a size 2 fine or a lighter size 4 worsted. But I’m not sure what size it would be if I put them together and I’m worried about the size being off.
Is there a way to figure this out or a chart I can use? Any help would be amazing tysm!!
Link to the shop, Apparently it is merino wool. I have a spinning wheel but the hole is WAY too small for a wool so chunky. Any idea how they produce it and if we can do it without specialized machinery ?
I'm just so excited and I need to share it somewhere. What's the word for venting when it's positive? XD
Anyway, I just got the yarn I ordered online and I LOVE it! I have so many plans! I already used one "test skein" for fingerless mittens for my cousin, and they turned out great, and I loved working with this yarn (I ordered multiple colours, a couple single skeins and three sweater quantities). It's "basic" 75 % wool / 25 % polyamide yarn, but it was so pleasant to work with and the colours are just what I hoped. I can't wait to get to my new projects!
Happy rant over, thanks for reading. 😆
I am going to begin keeping my yarn in bags to protect them, but I like to store them in pretty baskets on one of my bookshelves. Freezer bags and similar leave much to be desired aesthetically speaking. I was wondering if there was a pretty alternative. Thanks!
