I am almost finished with a shirt that I’m crocheting made out of the Caron Cloud Cake ‘Cork’ color and I absolutely love it. The only problem is…I can’t seem to find any more of this specific color anywhere on the internet.
I’m assuming it’s discontinued but I’m wondering if anyone knows where I could possibly find some on the internet? (I’ve already checked places like eBay, Etsy) I literally only need half a cake to finish😭
Thanks!
I bought this yarn in a bundle on vinted and they didn’t have any labels on. I need a tiny bit more to finish a project but I cannot for the life of me find it on any websites.
I’m in the UK so I’m guessing the yarn was bought in the UK too.
Thank you!
i found this yarn in a donation bin, and i have no idea what brand it is but it is so cute! its dk cotton, and it feels the exact same as lily sugar n cream yarn but i cannot find it anywhere. does anyone know what brand and colorway?
It's the darkest blue shade:
It's not peacock, I ordered peacock and it doesn't match. Unless peacock from 2018-2019 was an entirely different color.
Thanks.
I bought some new skeins for project started with very old skeins. But now the old skein is fluffed up and twice the size of the new skeins! Is it possible to fluff up the new skeins to match the old?
I can't continue the project otherwise. It would require a different hook, different color blocking, etc.
I'm kind of frustrated. I've spent the last month or so trying to figure out which set I'm going to buy, and it's been rough. I really wanted to go with Knitter's Pride, but I ran into an issue.
I really like working with finer yarns, especially DK weight yarn, but none of the sets had anything smaller than a 3.5mm needle. So I started looking for separate 3.25 and 3mm needles, and the smallest I could find was a 3.25. but like... Geez, if I'm dropping $150 for a set, how hard is it to have every single needle size?
I'd originally bought a cheap $30 set, and it goes down to 2.75. But I really wanted the ability to buy more cables if I needed to.
Idk... Just shouting into the ether I guess. If anyone needs me I'll be knitting with my cheap needles, wondering why $30 can give me what $150 can't 😤
The lighting conditions I was working in made all my yarns look white, but when I took this blanket into different light, I found that some yarn was slightly off-white. I'm pretty sure it's cotton. Anything I can do to spot-bleach this section? It doesn't have to be actual bleach, maybe there's a recipe of chemicals that can whiten it?

Hi everyone!
I’m crocheting a dress for my upcoming graduation, but the pattern I’m using recommends mercerized cotton yarn which I’d really rather not use for the health and environmental aspects.
I’m also seeing that the testers used other material yarns, and that the recommended yarn ( Drops Muskat DK ) really does provide the best “flow” of the dress compared to the others. I’ve been searching for hours to find a yarn online that compares and I’ve only really used saver yarn or plain cotton so I figured I’d come to reddit to see if anyone had any favorites for this type of project.
My question is does anyone have a favorite yarn that is soft, (~8 ply) DK yarn that is comparable to the build up/ gauge of mercerized cotton? I’d also be happy with suggestions of any weight that are an orange speckle/gradient 🧡 Thank you all so much in advance :)
just thought I would share since myself and others have posted about Michael's replacing all of their branded yarns with their own off-brand versions. Here is one of them https://yarnsub.com/yarns/loops_and_threads/bulky_twist (I actually like michael's version of this and wanted to know what brand version they were trying to emulate so this is awesome!)
I had plans for cardigans for both, but I think I might do somthing else with the white now.
Hello! Currently I’m in the mood for a project to make my sister and she’s very into swampy/ nature colors. I want a ‘moss like’ yarn. Maybe mohair since it’s fuzzy? Some mixture of brown and green since that’s her style. Open to any and all options (online, stores, etc.). I’ve tried looking into local yarn shops but the ones near me don’t have what I’m looking for. Please let me know! Thank you for any suggestions!
We're visiting SF for a short bit and have Firebird, Atelier, and ImagiKnit on our list. I'm not sure we'll be able to hit all of them though. For someone who loves animal-based yarns and lots of colors, how would you rank these?
EDIT: We went to ImagiKnit anf Firebird, didn't have time for Atelier but are definitely coming back to SF sometime so maybe then! Both were awesome, I really wish we had a place like Firebird back home that is just chockful of indies. I got some lovely green yarns and my mom bought a lot of yellow and some red for me to make somethings for her with!
So, I asked this on Facebook and people aren't actually helping me so I thought I'd ask here.
I'm in the process of streamlining and rebuilding my stash in a cohesive way.
I prefer to work in DK acrylic and I'm wondering if there's any company in Australia that does a stash builder pack, that has one skien/ball of each colour in a range. Without me having to individually select each colour for my cart (and maybe has a bulk discount) . Hobbi and Love Crafts kind of have what I'm after but both are too expensive to ship to Australia. Love Lovecrafts won't ship over a certain value, and it's $45AUD for each parcel up to that value.
Does what I want exist?
What is the difference between single ply and roving yarn? Is there a difference?
I saw this swatch for Caron Simply Soft Stripped Freckle at the store and was wondering what stitch pattern this is.
