    yarn id help!!

i've somehow had good luck and thrifted this yarn twice, once in a ball and once as a finished baby blanket. this is what it looks like knitted and crocheted. i believe its loops and threads because a friend of mine has a similar yarn that looks like the same colour but is in the soft and shiny version... it feels like a 4 weight. if anyone has any leads please let me know!! it's one of my favourites!

    Project Swap

I need to find a group of crocheters in my area and arrange a project swap….. I am always really excited about new projects but if it’s something I can’t finish quickly I eventually lose motivation and it ends up sitting half done. If there were several people who swapped projects once a week it would keep them fresh 😂

    Mostly joking… but not really?

    Emerald green yarn

Hi friends! I'm trying to find an emerald green colored yarn to make a sweater and I was hoping you would have some recommendations. I've mostly been looking at hobbii and the greens are either too earthy/muted or too light or neony. I'd like a worsted weight but would be happy with dk or fingering. Please help!!

    Tubular yarn projects?

I'm obsessed with the latest loops and threads tubular yarn! I can't stop touching it as it's so soft but i have absolutely no idea what to crochet with it!? I'm wondering if anyone's ever used this yarn and what you made? I find it's very unique yarn. I typically do amigurumi and Tunisian style but I'm open to anything! Thanks in advance!

I got this yarn for super cheap but I have no idea what to make. WAK baby alpaca 50g/ball dk weight. Do these colors look good together or do I need to split them up?

    Please help!

    Hi lovely people.

I am planning to crochet the 6 day star blanket , and can’t decide what yarn to use!

I am looking for a colour changing yarn, one that isn’t obvious in its changes and flows well, that is available to purchase in the uk - can anyone recommend please? I have seen people talk about the Caron cinnamon swirl cakes and would love to know people’s thoughts.

Follow up question - online I have seen the Caron cinnamon swirl in “jam” which is exactly what I’m looking for colour wise - but can’t seem to find it anywhere in the uk - have they stopped making this? Picture added of the gorgeous colours of the “jam” shade … 😍

Please can someone advise !! Thank you so much in advance and apologies for the long post 💕

    Luxury? Yarn ID

I purchased this yarn from School Products in 2012. I have a lot of it in this color and in teal. I’ve been on Ravelry at least since then, if not longer, and I have always been a bit of a stickler about “stashing” my yarn correctly there so I could keep track. Especially in the early days it was interesting for me and helpful to stash things right so I could learn about fiber. At the time of purchase I stashed this as Cashmere Mohair Blend from School Products, but now it’s 10 years later and this yarn is very different from any cashmere or mohair I’ve owned or worked with in the meantime, so I’m wondering if stashed it right.

It’s a very thin lace weight yarn that does not feel especially soft or un-soft. It’s also thinner/lighter gauge than what I get when I knit with something like Malabrigo lace. There doesn’t seem to be much of a halo, which I thought was a property of mohair. But perhaps that’s because all of the other mohair I’ve used is a silk mohair/blend?

And yeah, that’s all I’ve got! I can’t exactly use Ravelry to identify because out of six stashes, two are mine. I was just wondering if some yarn expert could help out. Thanks so much!

Nice superwash yarn for crochet throw blanket?

I would like to make a small lap blanket for the sofa and need some yarn recommendations. I'm thinking superwash wool, dk or worsted weight, preferably in tonals for visual interest. I'm looking for something that will be soft to work with and will make a soft, squishy blanket that will still be sturdy enough to hold up to wear and tear.

I'm planning on asking for the yarn for my birthday, so it doesn't have to be inexpensive.

    Frankenstein yarn

This was in a box of yarn that was $1 per skein so how could I not? The different yarn lengths are sewn together really well. Not sure what to make with this, it’s hard to tell in the picture but it’s pretty large.
