Post favorites from your stash, interesting finds from your local yarn store, yarn that has inspired you, made you think or even yarn you have spun. This is a haven for appreciation, all fibres are welcome.

Posting Tips

  • Post links to photos from imgur.com or flickr or an author directly, crediting the author whenever possible. Linking directly to the image or gallery is encouraged so that a thumbnail is identified and displayed with your post in the subreddit.

  • Posts of photos that are visually stimulating and feature the yarn in an artistic or beautiful way will be more appealing. Even plain simple yarn can be beautifully presented. Think eye candy for the yarn enthusiast. The photo may contain other elements (WIP, things from the surroundings) but can not be a collage that contains additional words or inspiration imagery. The yarn must be clearly highlighted and visually appealing in order to be yarnporn.

  • Posts linking to retailers' generic images of their products are not encouraged example. Consider instead linking to retailers' images using beautifully set or artistic images of yarn or particularly unique yarn example.

  • Images containing partially completed projects and yarn are encouraged so long as the yarn is prominently featured example.

  • Image galleries may contain a finished object however the post itself should primarily link to visual representations of the yarn in an unused and attractively presented state.

  • Independant vendors may post their own yarn products that are available for sale but are requested to do so sparingly and to link only directly to the images vice an etsy or online shop (this may however be left in the comments if desired). Repeat posts may be considered spam and will be discussed with the poster on a case by case basis.

First time dyeing yarn

I used Rit dye and vinegar. Purple with some black. I started with a light beige wool/cotton blend. Spud and Chloe Sweater. The light colors are because I was running out of dye but I like how they turned out.

Absolute perfection! (click on image)

reorganized all my yarn today into a rainbow (sort of, the best i could) with a small box in the middle for smaller skeins containing another rainbow! Organizing all my yarn make me realize i only have that one tiny ball of red yarn left lol.
