Need to take one literature class this summer 300 level. Please suggest any easy ones out there. Thanks
I lost my rose gold heart necklace tonight probably between Rappahannock Deck and Chesapeake Lane. The front side has blue gems. Thanks in advance if found š
Hi friends!
This is kinda a long shot but GMUās esports Call of Duty league is starting a C team and they're looking for a 4th player to join by this Wednesday. Itās pretty casual, just a way to try out competitive gaming without the pressure. No crazy skill requirements, just a good attitude and willingness to play!
There is a requirement that people play on controller, no mouse and keyboard
If youāre interested or have any questions, drop a comment or DM me!

I was just sick asf in November for like the entire month and now Iām sick again. Why
I swear I once saw that Mason has a donation center for used clothes and home items, but I can't find it. I want to donate some clothes to Mason students rather than to the Salvation Army or Goodwill, as those are for-profit organizations (even though they claim they're not)
I got a parking citation for $50. On the ticket it says if I pay early in person they will give me an āEarly Payment Discountā does anyone know how much the discount is or how much gets taken off???
If you've participated in the NOVA x GMU Advance Program, please dm me. I'm looking into the program and would love to hear from someone who has experience with it.
Why does it seem like I have to re-log in every 15 minutes on blackboard. Iāll leave the app briefly and it makes go through the whole Duo process constantly. I donāt remember it being this bad in the past
Hello! I wondering where people find online textbooks for free? I ordered my āCommunity and Public Health Nursing 4th edition by Rosanna F. Demarco & Judith Healey-Walshā but it wonāt arrive in time for my first exam. I was able to check out the 3rd edition in the library but the professor said the exam will be on the 4th edition so Iām a little nervous. Does anyone know where I can find a free pdf version? Or even an online or physical textbook I could buy from them? I tried looking online for a free pdf version but Iām not tech savvy and almost downloaded a virusā¦ so either risking my laptop or my first nursing exam grade. Thank you!
Do any users here have experience with the debate team at GMU? If so, how is the application process, how are the meetings (mandatory or not, length of time, etc), how serious is the commitment? I am interested in applying to join, however I am concerned I do not have the time to commit to the team long-term.
I've spent the last 2 years avoiding buying textbooks for all my classes, but in my last semester, the prof requires the textbook and has quizzes weekly on it specifically. I came to believe the textbook isn't pirateable. The textbook costs a hefty $84 digitally, so does anyone else have experience passing the class without the textbook?
Edit: I didn't find the textbook, but I was able to borrow the book from another friend.
I want to record music videos but Iām damn near broke and microphones are expensive.
I'm a new GMU student and I'm in the grad program (going for my masters in biology with a concentration in neuroscience). So far, I don't know anyone here. I know like one person but they commute and we aren't the same major so I never see them. They also work too. I'm joining clubs so hopefully I'll have at least one friend by the end of the week.
Currently, I only have 4 classes. One is completely asynchronous, one is asynchronous with an occasional meeting every two weeks or so online, and the other two are synchronous with them being on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I have a lot of time on my hands is the point and nothing to do with it.
I'm trying to join a lab, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I plan to do my PhD in Neuro here as well, so there wouldn't be the issue of getting me trained only for me to leave in like a year. In undergrad, I was lucky because my friend invited me to join a meeting, I walked in the door and they were like "Hey new member!" I didn't have to be selected by a professor or anything like that.
How do I go about joining a lab here? I feel very much on my own right now (I don't even have an official advisor technically, I had to email the director of my department a week before classes and she was super nice with helping me out.) Do I just email and ask or is there a process I have to go through? Obviously, I want to join a lab that's close to my interests, so I'm going to be doing some research, but when I do find one I like, where do I go from there?
How did y'all join a lab? Was it easy? Do you like it? How much work/how many hours do you put in a week? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Hey guys, I'm a senior in HS going into engineering (mechanical or electrical not fully sure yet) in college. My admissions right now are looking like these schools might be my best options and I wanted to know if you guys had any input on the best one.
Every source I've read has had varying reviews on both the strength of their engineering programs and their social life so I'm curious what you guys think. GMU I've heard specifically is a commuter school where it's hard to make friends.
Has anyone ever had a government or law class with Kelly ritcher before? I really need to get an A on her course but her writing assignment seems scary. Plz help
Iām choosing between 3 schools currently, Emotionally I want to go to UMD, but that 63k tuition per academic year is NOT good realistically. I got the OOS 20k scholarship, meaning Iād be paying 33k based off of estimated cost. WVU is my state school and Iād be paying 30k. Does anyone have any advice about not going to your first choice because of cost/thoughts on the GMU political science program? Itās only my undergraduate degree as I plan on attending law school. Thanks!!
I applied regular decision for Fall 2025 around November, when do they start notifying about acceptances? Iām extremely nervous š
currently an OOS freshman in my second semester here at mason. I'm a business finance major, but am having a really hard time making true friendship connections. Everyone's a commuter here so they always leave after classes, and I feel like i'm always putting in the effort.
I've tried joining clubs and societies, but again the commuter problem comes up. any advice would be great. thank you.
edit: i've also noticed many people going here are locals, and they kind of already have their own friend groups, so it's awkward to try and insert myself in somewhere.
pls
I keep getting distracted home, looking for recommendations, since my nearby libraries either dont open on weekends or close early.
Thanks.
I don't have in state tuition this year where I live because I moved relatively recently. So I was wondering if the school gave a significant amount of aid to OOS students.
I got award letters from the schools I was accepted to but like... they're not looking too good.
I got a text from this school (I subscribed in the summer but lost interest and didn't apply EA).. and today's deadline. (Yesterday I got rejected from one of my top schools... so I was considering applying.)
I would go to community college but they don't have dorms and I don't think it would be a good idea to live at home, if I would be even allowed to.
I think it was about a few weeks/month ago, that someone from the school called asking if I had any questions about the school but I told them I wasn't applying anymore... š
(Also I'm not sure I'd get much aid since my academics aren't that good, 3.3 UW, would go test optional, not many ECs)
Hi, I heard back from colleges yesterday and got rejected from UVA (which was my top school) and got a decent scholarship at GMU and VCU. My stats are 4.47 weighted GPA and 1350 SAT. I want premed to be my academic comeback, and wanted to ask for advice to make it happen.
I have three research papers published and hope to get more done over the 4 years while maintaining most As and getting a good MCAT score.
Also I want to be able to get involved in a couple of clubs (which was my weak point in HS)
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Has anyone ever done order enrollment verification? When I click the order button on the school website, it redirects to another site, but after logging in, it doesnāt go to the next screen. I urgently need it, but itās the weekend, so I can't get a reply. Has anyone experienced this
Hello everyone,
I just submitted my application to GMU as a transfer student for the fall of 25 and I'm just a bit confused as I'm not seeing anything on my checklist yet which I do find a little weird as I remember when I applied to VCU it was available to me instantly, I also didn't receive an email confirming my application was submitted either but I did receive one that was almost identical to the one I received from vcc regarding my payment. Is GMU just a bit slower about this kind of stuff and I should just check in tomorrow? Or should I be concerned? Thank you
Living off campus this semester so I don't really run into things like I used to. The vintage markets are one of my favorite things we have so I was wondering if anyone happened to know if there's anywhere they're posted about beforehand? š
