ISO House / Mobile Home in greater Petersburg / Hopewell / Dinwiddie

We are Looking to rent in Petersburg. Two guys - no pets, non cigarette smokers, I'm 55 semi retired delivery driver. I bike, wrench, have a few projects, stay busy. My friend is 25, on the spectrum, on a fixed income, SSI, etc.

I have 2 years of receipts @ $725/month for an basement apartment with a shared kitchen upstairs. Being 55, I am looking for a place where most of the living space is on the same floor.

My friend has a similiar track record. Because he is autistic, I have been working with his family to provide some vocational and domestic support. He has paid here $600/month so between the two of us we're at $1300.

So we're looking for a property owner, mobile home owner, maybe a 3rd for a duplex in Petersburg.

looking for a third roommate!

hello! me and another girl are trying to find a third roommate. things to know about us/an ideal person has these qualities: -around our age. i am almost 24 and she is 28 so we would prefer somebody around that age range though it’s not a requirement, and is also another woman. -we are looking around in lakeside and have even toured places we both like. we are not necessarily opposed to being outside of lakeside but it’s the best place that’s inbetween our jobs (she works in vcc, i work near three chopt/forest.) -are at least somewhat neat. don’t need to constantly keep clean by any means but needs to be able to keep tidy consistently -ideally not smoking. not opposed to weed but would need to be smoked outside (most places we’ve toured have patios/balconies) -we both have boyfriends but they would only be around once or twice a week, definitely not a permanent fixture of the home. id probably be at my own bfs place once or twice throughout the week too. -we are not doing pets of any type -down to hangout at night! obviously would not reject anybody for wanting to keep to themselves but if we all wanna watch a movie/show together and vibe together we’d be down!! -i work 7:45 to 4:45 m-f consistently whereas she works in retail so her hours aren’t as consistent. doesn’t matter either way what you’d work! would definitely prefer a somebody with a consistent full time job. -we’ve both expressed an interest in cooking dinners together occasionally so would also be down for another person to join that! -the other girl already lives on her own so she will be bringing a lot of common area furniture and kitchen stuff

having a third person would massively help with rent costs, and we are ideally looking to pay 600ish each in rent with a year long lease. there are a few places we’ve found that match this. malika’s current lease ends december 12th so we are looking to move out in early december so we still have some time to find a place!!

Moving to RVA

Hey yall, planning a move to Richmond in the spring (april or may) and wondering if anyone has some tips for me. Ill just throw out a few questions..

Any recommendations on neighborhoods with a selection of rentals that would be a good fit for a 30-something artist/chef that would be close to city center?

Favorite restaurants or local spots?

How is public transportation? I do have a vehicle but prefer to take public transpo when I can.

All advice and help is appreciated 🤙🏼

In need of a room

I'm a 36 year old professional woman in search of a room. I work overnights so I'm mostly sleep during the day so noise wouldn't be an issue. I get paid weekly so I'd prefer that type of payment arrangement so I can better manage my bills. I'm looking for a Nov 1st move in. I make about 2000 a month.

Room to Rent in Midlothian

Hi everyone,

I have a room to rent in a 4bd 3.5ba New construction townhouse in Midlothian that will be available January 15th. Room is $1050. You would be getting your own bedroom and bathroom, and if you like you can have the room on the first floor, so you get the whole floor to yourself as well.

A little bit about me- I work Hybrid, not from Richmond so I'm away some weekends. Pretty chill 25yo male. I don't go out. I play basketball and tutor in my off hours. Just getting a feeler out there

Can someone share any experience regarding this?

I am moving to Richmond very soon and I am looking for accommodation. I came across a leasing company who provide rent by room type of service. I wanted to enquire if someone or knows someone has come across this type of offer. I would like to know their experience if they have actually lived in this particular type of arrangement.

apartments downtown rva/app process

Hey all, I am trying to find an apt for when my lease ends june 30th of 2025 (currently live in williamsburg). I have found a few places within my price range and like the apts; but i have one question.(sorry if this sounds stupid, but im 23, and only ever signed with 1 apt/mgmt company, and that was 2 years ago for my first apt) but why does it seem like all the apts i have been wanting to apply to, only allow for me to apply 3-4 months in advance?

the reason being is, because the current apt complex, while it is in a college town and caters as such to primarily college students; allows for applicants to apply up to 11 months in advance. I feel like that my apt complex might be a rarity in that sense; so i am wondering if you all know of apts that would allow me to apply closer to 6+ months out? Just curious, since i dont want to be in the position where i start an application, and then the mgmt takes longer than expected just to potentially deny me, and then me potentially be shit out of luck with my current apt complex, just because i didnt resign, due to waiting for the response.

I know this might be niche; but i thought i would shoot my shot lol

Looking for housing

I'm seeking to rent a room in the Fan or surrounding area. Must have access to kitchen. I work at VCU full time. Prefer a private landlord. As I don't make 3x the rent but does make 2x the rent. No more than a $1000 a month. Looking to move in November or by Dec 1st.

About me. I am 50 years young. I am young at heart. I have an adult daughter that may come over to visit once in awhile. I have been clean and sober for almost 15 months. I work 2-10:30. I am quiet and like to keep the house clean. I am currently working on my credit. I enjoy watching TV and movies. Cooking for my housemates on occasion. I love music like Elvis Costello, The Clash, Johnny Cash etc. I love thrift store shopping and yard sales. It would be wonderful if there was a small yard because I love to garden. I love dogs and treat them as if they are my child. I would love if I could possibly get my own dog. As they are a good emotional support dog for me.

I would like to be walking distance to VCU.

I am open to a 1 bdrm or studio apartment.

Please send me a dm if you know or have something available. Thanks.

Edited to add I am lgbtq friendly. My daughter recognizes as queer.

Safe, Luxury(-ish) 1 Bedroom Apartment Complex Recommendations?

Hello! I am looking to move to RVA and I am wanting recommendations on safe (especially for a single female) apartments preferably near VCU. I say luxury-ish because I am willing to pay a higher price of rent to avoid safety concerns, pests, etc. I would prefer a 1 bedroom apartment but I am open to studios. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! It seems like every apartment I find on Apartments.com have reviews of warnings, pests, break-ins, etc.

Looking for roommate(s) move in Dec/Jan

Hi, I'm Rowan (Trans Man 25) and I'm looking for someone to room with in the rva area. I'm hoping to find someone who I can not only tolerate but get along with. Ideally, I'll find a roomie and then we can find accomodations together.

A bit about me, I'm a big nerd for gaming and anime. I've got two cats who warm up to people pretty quickly. I know how to keep to myself but prefer to socialize at least a bit. I'm fairly clean in my own space and when I'm not I know how to keep my mess contained to my room. I'm not one for big parties, but board game night will happen.

The ideal place for me is at or less than 1400/month rent (or 700 per person depending) plus utilities. I need my own bathroom and certainly wouldn't mind an extra communal bedroom for whatever we may need. The place should allow pets. I'd prefer not to have to pay pet rent, but know it's often unavoidable. Should also have washer and dryer or w/d hookups. Other amenities are nice, but overall optional. Location is flexible. (Doesn't even have to be in rva as I'm also looking at norfolk area)

I'm okay rooming with a couple, but if we have 2 bedrooms and 3 residents, I'd want to split rent and utilities 30/30/40 as everyone shares the common areas. With 3 rooms and 3 residents, we'd just split it evenly.

If you have pets, it should be fine as long as they can get along with others and we don't have too many overall. (Most apartments have a pet limit but a house likely wouldn't)

You can be of any gender, or age, as long as you are open minded and willing to communicate.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, shoot me a message or leave a comment!

Any experiences with Rivah Rock Properties in Richmond, VA?

I've been going back and forth about renting from Rivah Rock Properties. I can't find much info on the company, though it seems like a small family-owned business. They asked I pay the deposit via money order or cash. I don't think I've paid any landlord in that way since maybe 2008.

Should I be concerned?

Does anyone have any experience renting from them?

I've been speaking with a woman named Anne this whole time.
