Does anyone know what the issue might be? I'll be facing one direction, then teleport 10m backwards. Sometimes it works properly and sometimes it doesn't. This is with no enemies targeted.

So I've set my nerves/imposter syndrome aside and decided to try to get ready and jump into Elites. I have two characters that I've devoted a lot of attention to who are... decent. They can at least survive elites without popping every couple seconds. The rest? Not so much. Most of my many, many characters use the Aegis set while the two who are elite-ready use Fleet Gear(engines, shields, deflector, and core) and Discovery Reputation Set, respectively.
Obviously there is more to it than that, but it made me wonder: How do these "sets" stack up against each other? Obviously two are sets and one is 'misc' gear without set bonuses you get from the fleet vendors. I'm terrible at math and crunching numbers, so is there a way to explain which is better and at what like I'm five?
Edit: I mean the Phoenix Prize Pack store
Epic: Compiler [T6]
Ultra: Crystal Prism module, Terran Guerilla outfit, Antiproton Matter Conversion weapons
Very Rare: Beacon of Kahless, Black Ops mine, Emancipator outfit, Kor uniform
Rare: Martian Laser weapon
I didn't see any posts or news about this. Does that mean the Epic store will finally start getting more regular additions?
When I say unique, I mean ones that either don't look like a stereotypical one, or ones that don't entirely fit in. Stuff that looks super different, and alien compared to the norm.

The weather has turned cold, and last year seemed to have passed more quickly than ever... Could it be? It seems some remnants of the Temporal Cold War have reached us even here! I’ve thrown myself into the battle to put a bundle together! And here’s the spoils:
On Xbox and PlayStation, Mudd is opening the doors on a new Choice Pack on February 4th, and this one is taking us back to an old conflict! Purchase the Old Rivals Choice Pack for 29500 Zen and choose any three of the options below! But that's not all - this pack will be 50% off from 02/04 @ 8am PT – 02/09 @ 12pm PT. Choose from the following:
We're adding a special version of the pack! The Old Rivals MEGA Pack Bundle is a one stop purchase to obtain all eight items in the pack at once! The pack contains all items, no choices needed. It will also launch on 02/04, for 50000 ZEN Zen, but will be 50% off until 02/09 at 12pm PT. Here's how it works:
The Old Rivals MEGA Pack will appear in Mudd's Market at the same time as the Old Rivals Pack. This is a once per account purchase. When purchased, it will disappear from the store. If you'd like, you can still purchase the Old Rivals Choice Pack for more of the non-ship items. Purchasing the Old Rivals MEGA Pack Bundle will drop an item in your inventory, that you can unpack to receive the items.
If you wish to buy both the Old Rivals MEGA Pack Bundle and the Old Rivals Choice Pack, you must purchase the bundle first. Any purchase of the Choice Pack will cause the Bundle to disappear from the store.
Since the only thing that costs more lobi than a costume is an actual frickin' ship, I would definitely like to get some use out of one when I buy it.
I bought the 2380 uniform, because it is awesome, but I can't put it on my Romulan or Orion BOFFs (they are part of my Fed toon's crew).
I mean, Lower Decks literally has an Orion crew member. I don't see a technical reason why this isn't allowed; 2 arms, 2 legs and a head -- all human size! It seems arbitrary, since I can dress these same BOFFs in Terran outfits for example, no problem.
Is there a way I can check for this in the future before I buy ? Do these restrictions ever get changed?
I was reading an article on the state of loot box regulation in 2024 (https://www.gamesindustry.biz/loot-box-state-of-play-2024-another-trip-around-the-world-of-regulation) and it got me wondering. Whether it is required by law or not, would you like STO to publish the actual odds for loot boxes? Personally, I would like to see them, but I'm wondering if I am in the minority, and if most players even care about the loot boxes.
I saw an Odyssey Class with white warp nacelles (normally blue) and white bussard collectors (normally red). I loved the way it looked and asked the player about it but I got no response. Can anyone help track down how this look came to be?
Just tried to copy a chatacter to and logging into the tribble test server. The website to copy the character doesn't show the option "tribble" and loading the game it shows "server is unavailable". Is anyone of you also encountering this or is it just on my side?
Before you judge my question, please read everything first:
Let me elaborate in case you're unsure what I mean. Sometimes, there are ships (or possibly weapons etc.) that you can't get on the exchange because either no one has posted any up in months OR because you don't want to open lockbox after lockbox. Personally, I don't like opening lockboxes as my "luck" is SO horrendously bad.
I wonder if it would be advantageous to have a single ship/item (well, 250 for items) posted on the exchange after 72 hours. That is, if none is posted within that time frame. OF COURSE, it would be labelled "Sold by AI". So that if you don't want to purchase those, you wouldn't have to. And the price would be priced as the average sold price of the last 10 ten that were sold. For items, that would be for the last 2,500 (as they are normally bundled up to 250).
The reason I am asking you all, is because there have been months where I was looking for a very specific ship on the exchange, and I am sure that has been the same for some of you. I figure that if no one is selling X ship because it's not popular at all then I don't see the harm, because I would suggest that if X item comes in at the exact same price (or lower), then the AI one would either be pulled down automatically OR it'd be greyed out until the human one is purchased.
Just to clarify, I'm not saying this is the best solution when it comes to getting ships or items, but I see this as the fairest way that I can think of. Because this would NOT harm actual sellers on the exchange. Especially when it comes to ships or items which no one has been selling for months. I feel this would be a win for BOTH players and Cryptic. To be 100% clear, I am ONLY talking about things which are so extremely difficult to come by on a daily/weekly basis.
EDIT: A ship can cost around 1-1.5 billion EC (or more). That said, if a player REALLY wants that ship and they don't have that EC, they'd have to spend 100-150$ (via buying Zen and selling X amount of items until they reach 1-1.5 billion EC). Thus, the idea that Cryptic wouldn't make money, hence why they'd not consider implementing it, is a fallacious argument.
EDIT 2: To paraphrase someone else: In this case, players get access to ships earlier, and there’s a market where they can buy and sell keys. These same players can then buy ships on the exchange. Meanwhile, buyers who buy keys can open lockboxes, which may contain Lobi and potentially several ships, allowing them to earn twice the EC they would have otherwise. It’s a simple and effective system that benefits all involved. I don't see the resistance of those saying it's a bad idea, when the reality is that most of us have better things to do than wait around for a ship to pop up, OR to ask over and over in channels for a specific ship. Some of us have families and can't be bothered to do this.
So this started as a reply to the "Favorite Bridge" topic, but I quickly realized I don't have a favorite bridge. I like every single Bridge I use and then some. Some I can't use cause they're too close in looks and most of my characters cover all points of known Trek and even some more to the future(SciFi and all). The reason I have no particular favorites is that since, the way I play, I choose bridges I like ideally for that character(from those existing). Depends on the roleplay of the character and the ship ofcourse.
I have an Ancient Vulcan with one of the Risian ships that looks ancient Vulcan(event, but I had to buy it). I use the Dyson bridge for that, since the roleplay is it has advanced tech from various sources due to the warlike Pre-Surak Vulcan nature that later was lost in Limbo(the tech). I have a UESPA human. For him, I'm waiting for the XCV-330 and its bridge to make actually playable(I have him on dormancy mostly). I have a time agent from 32nd-33rd century that got stranded back at about 2140's. Passes off as a merchant and thus uses a Balth I believe as a merchant ship(who'd know how it would look?) and thus a merchant ship bridge. For my ENT-Early UFP era I use the Starship Bridge which is the closer we have to a non UFP known bridge that could be actually used from the ships of the era(though I'd get the ENT bridge for it if it was in game). For my 2170-2190 one I use the Columbia with Alpha bridge.
For my TOS "Cage era" one I use Pioneer Bridge. For my DISCO Timeline one I use Walker bridge. For SNW "Pike's Era" I use Pioneer(obviously the Pike type 1701 bridge is needed there). For my TOS standard era I use Pioneer again. There is a TOS bridge, but it's practically the same as the Pioneer one. I'll get the TOS one if they'll add something to it that distinguishes it from the Pioneer and makes it worthwhile to get it. For my "Narada Timeline" Captain I use the Kelvin Constitution Bridge. For my Mirror Universe Captain I use the Terran Crosfield Bridge, cause I didn't want to use the Pioneer one - yet again. For my TMP era Captain I use between Blaze and Pandora bridge, can't make up my mind completelly about those two. For my rest of TOS movies era Captain, I use the Ambassador ship and Origin bridge. For my TNG era I use a Ross type ship and "Prototype" Bridge. For my Voyager era, haven't decided on ship yet but using the VOY 2410 bridge(before the giveaway of the ship btw, I have those since the multipack was out).
For my Odyssey Era(2389-2401 I thought worked best) Captain I use the Odyssey/Refit-Yorktown and Miranda Bridge. For my 2401-2421 era Captain I use a custom made Neo-Defiant with Belfast bridge. For my Crusher/Picard era(2422-2450) I use 1701-H class ship(Achilles). Still levelling him, not sure on the bridge yet(waiting for new ones to get released till or around I max him which I take my time with). For the 2450+ era I use between 2 ships and Yorktown bridge. For my 25th-26th century S31 agent I use my classification custom ship and the Eagle with "Key" Bridge. For my Cardassian I use Galor texture Cardassian T6 ship and Cardassian bridge. For my 26th century Bajoran I use the ship we got from the event with Utopia bridge(Bajoran bridge needed I guess). For my Jem'Hadar of the future, well there is only one Dominion Bridge I believe(1st officer is a Founder). For my 26th century and Beyond Borg I use the Universe class bridge since I think it fits well with their theme' future-wise. For my 26th to 29th century UFP Romulan Ni'Varian I alternate between a Romulan and Adapted Bridge. For my 26th century Ferengi I customised a ship to look Ferengi and gotten the D'Kora for its bridge(between summer and November).
For my late 26th-Early 27th C. Captain I use the Universe class ship with Aquarious bridge. For my 27th-28th C. Galactic Union captain I use Khitomer ship and Odyssey bridge. For my 27-28C. Lukari I use the Lukari bridge. I have another Agent of 27-28C. this time; for that one I use the Samsar bridge(it fits with the ship and weapons theme I selected). For my 28th century Krenim I use the Bastille/Pallisade ship and Voth bridge( I bought the Krenim ship for my Borg Captain and didn't want to re-buy since there are so many ships, I feel each character should use a different one too). For my 29th century Captain I use a Vorgon Timeship with Wells bridge. For my 29th-33rd C. Vulcan Ni'Varian I use the Vorgon bridge. My 31st Century Captain I use Eternal ship with Vengeance Bridge, but if I find the pieces I want I might make it a Vengeance ship too(already have it, but will change for example my Tetryons only for Radiolytic phasers). For my 32nd century ship I run a Kirk class which is probably the only one of them I kinda like along with the future Crossfield with the 1-2 DISCO season bridge. Waiting to get the future ship with its Bridge. Maybe this years event though I also want the Shrike from that one. For my 33rd century Captain I have the T6 Dyson ship and still developing him, so not certain on a Bridge yet. For my 34th C. Captain I'm thinking between some ships, probably future ones and haven't decided on Bridge yet. And last, but not least, for my 35th C. Character which was actually the first character I made in STO, haven't decided on ship yes, maybe the Vovin, but decided on the Tuterian Bridge for it.
If you use more than one bridge, which ones you use? If you like you can share the reasoning too, but it isn't required.)
So every once in a while you get an endeavor to say kill 10 terrans, kill 20 voth, and in missions i kinda get it, but to just want to go slaughter for a rare box seems outside the federation. This may just be a me problem, and i know its a video game, but i wish the federation side was more scan random nebulas or collect ground stuff on 4 planets. It just seems weird as a federation member to go kill randomly.
No issues for kdf.
THE GALAXY GOES TO RED ALERT
Captains on Xbox and PlayStation can go to Red Alert for two weeks!
By Fero February 03, 2025, 07:00 AM
The entire Galaxy is going to Red Alert! From December 31st at 8am PT to January 14th at 12pm PT on Xbox and PlayStation, all of our Red Alert events will be returning at once, as the Final Frontier is caught in a massive invasion on all sides. During this event, you’ll be able to play the following content:
Borg Red Alert Elachi Red Alert Tholian Red Alert Tzenkethi Red Alert* Nakuhl Red Alert
*Please note: As the only Red Alert with a fail condition, the Tzenkethi Red Alert will not grant daily bonus progress if you fail the TFO. The fail condition will likely be removed in future runs of this event.
In addition to their usual rewards, these Task Force Operations will also grant daily bonus progress. You’ll receive one Daily Progress each day for completing one Red Alert – doesn’t matter which one – on any character on your account. After you receive ten daily progress, you’ll be rewarded with a package containing the following, once per account:
An Ultimate Tech Upgrade A Specialization Point An Experimental Ship Upgrade Token
You can also purchase this Grand Prize on the events page, if you’d prefer. The price will be prorated as you earn Daily Progress, becoming cheaper the more you play.
If you earn, or purchase, the event’s Grand Prize, you can still complete Red Alerts to earn Bonus Progress. Completing a Red Alert TFO each day will grant a bonus amount of Dilithium Ore, beginning at 8,000 and increasing by 1,000 for each completion thereafter.
Red Alert Task Force Operations are available to Captains of level 50 or higher. Head out and defend the Galaxy, Captains! Go to Red Alert!

Nice to see that even with Kael gone his legacy lives on

I just saw the news about the new Klingon Recruitment event but I play on a console and the article on the STO website says that it's for PC. I mainly want to participate in the event to unlock the M'chla Bird of Prey refit for my account. Will the Klingon Recruitment event also happen on the console version of Star Trek Online?
Mayday! Assistance required! I want this red/blue vortex but I don't know what it's called, the one friend that plays STO doesn't remember, and if I have to hear Gemini give me another incorrect answer - I think I'm going to throw myself out of the nearest air lock. Bonus points on specifics on how to obtain.
Sincerest thanks, one frustrated Admiral.
After spending a lot of time in PvE I want to dip my toes into the PvP. Are there good Tutorials for beginners on how to build your ships and how to not totally suck in PvP?
So, I've been using the Dark Matter Quantum Torpedo for a bit now and I do think it's a genuinely good torpedo and I do like the set bonus. However, I have one small problem that is going to sound very silly.
The DMQT is causing a critical lack of KABOOM.
Basically, as good as it is performance wise, I dislike it from an aesthetic perspective. I do space battles to blow up bad guys, not watch the bad guys quietly disintegrate into purple stuff.
However, I'm hesitant to get rid of it because I'm not sure how it will affect my build performance. While I don't necessarily care about meta, I do at least want to have decent performance in advanced TFOs. So, I have two questions:
Ive been saving epic research upgrades for a while now until i reached an Admiral rank that could use the items they upgraded to, finally reached Admiral, and upgraded 4 consoles: 3 neutronium alloy consoles, and 1 tholian crystalline interlacer. They all say i need to be admiral, the lettering isn't red, there's no obvious reason why they cant equip except i can't equip them at all now, and 2 that stayed equipped disappeared entirely from my account when i tried logging out and logging back in.
Whaaaaats going on? Why disappeared, why cant i equip? I only have one tholian console, they just dont even show up as an option to equip.
Edit: contacted support, the problem is an error in the item description saying it only requires Admiral but should say it requires Fleet Admiral. Im still relatively new to this game and assumed, when i noticed this in the description, that in the higher tiers there was a requirement difference for MKVI consoles and weapons
With the Kings & Queens event wrapping up and the anniversary event unfolding in the Delta Quadrant, is it time to introduce the Borg as a playable starter faction?
Currently, playing as a Liberated Borg requires purchasing a lifetime subscription, but perhaps it's time to make them a fully realized faction. Even if they only have a few unique starting missions before merging into the standard episode progression, it could add fresh excitement to the game. What do you think? Would you want to see the Borg as a new playable faction?
Additionally, the game could benefit from an update to the Research Lab or the introduction of a brand-new Fleet Holding. The Research Lab could be expanded with new projects, buffs, or experimental technology, offering more incentives for fleets to invest in its development. A new Fleet Holding, perhaps themed around the Delta Quadrant or Borg research, could provide unique fleet-wide bonuses and exclusive gear. What kind of upgrades or new holdings would you like to see?
