He has written a jingle for a prescription drug for fat people with type 2 diabetes which I would describe as a crime against humanity. The fact that I am an American means it plays on tv 24/7, there's no escape from that song, and while I know David isn't responsible for the dance, I still blame him and I hate him for it.
Please David, have mercy on us - an American
I’m potentially starting some third sector roles soon, to try help out & gain experience, I was just wondering since I’m looking to graduate next year from uni, when coming to higher paid job roles/grad roles how accepted or recognised is working as a third sector volunteer, and would this still be seen as worthy job experience when applying for a role i.e business/office roles?
My Grandma (b. 1920 in Lenzie) used to sing this to me as a kid. My mum and I still sing it at Christmas time, but I’m unable to find ANY reference to it online. The words as I know them are (and I apologize for my crude Scots spelling):
“Santa Claus’ll catch ye if ye dinnae coorie doon
Whisht now… [something unintelligble]
It’s time fer comin’ roon
Auch, wee Jimmy wouldnae sleep a’ nicht
He’d hee, and haw, and hum,
Fer he wanted tae see the way
that Santa Claus come doon the lum”
Does anyone recognize this song or it's name?
failed to research beforehand that it was in fact a mossy, eroded stone on the edge of a field that then took me an hour to find.
Assuming fairly dry conditions, will I be OK in trainers or am I better off in a boot or some sort?
As the title suggests, I'm an American who is struggling to find any truth amongst the marketing material when it comes to a family tartan.
I have a company event in December and the theme this year is Celtic Comedy Craic. We are being encouraged to incorporate plaid into our outfits to fit with the theme and I (supposedly) have some Scottish blood in me, which is probably why I have a stash of Irn Bru in my basement.
One side of my family's last name is McBride, which I have learned is just a shortened MacBride. I'd like to acquire some kind of accessory that I can add onto my formal outfit for this holiday party that represents that Scottish heritage but I'm struggling to parce facts from marketing material.
I've found THIS pattern on the Scottish Register of Tartans which suggests the pattern only came into existence in 1992. Clan.com suggests that there are 3 Tartans associated with the MacBride name. Other resources I've looked at say that MacBride was just a sept of MacDonald, and so what I should actually be looking for is not a MacBride tartan but a MacDonald tartan!
Ultimately, I just want to honor my history in a small way and not be taken in by modern marketing nonsense. Does anyone here have an idea of how to navigate this situation?

My wife has got an offer to be a GP trainee in Dumfries and Galloway. We are from India and moving to the UK.
I have been on the net and seems like it is a nice, cosy and welcoming place. Any tips on best parts to live in the region? And any tips on must have stuff we need to pack.
Hello,
I’m wondering if someone could recommend a nice hotel or b&b for Hogmany? (Family of 2 adults and 3 kids but one is a year so can use travel cot).
I’m thinking somewhere with a nice open plan fire, a ceilidh or a fiddler. Somewhere very relaxed and traditional.
Happy to travel anywhere
Hi! Idk if this is normally allowed to be posted here but essentially my best friend moved from the UK to the US for the man she thought she was gonna spend the rest of her life with and then they ended up breaking up and she wants to move back to the UK but since she spent so much of her savings to move to the US she currently doesn’t have a fuck ton of savings and needs to find a job with accommodations so she can get out of the shitty situation that she has found herself in. Does anyone have any good recommendations on where she could try to apply? She has experience working as a live In caretaker and also some factory job experience. She would prefer something with accommodations even just for short term until she gets settled back in. She asked for my help looking bc she’s quite desperate to get out so any recs would absolutely help a ton! Thank you so much ❤️
