Hello all,
I'd like to have a sticker from the Pedal on Parliament organisation, but unfortunately they don't ship to my country (The Netherlands). I ordered one last week but the order was cancelled by them. Does anyone know a way to get a set of stickers to here? Perhaps one of you could order one and send it to me? Naturally, I will reimburse the shipping costs, happily.

Thanks
Heading to Dumfries and Galloway and looking at mountain biking with 10yo. Hiring bikes as we're more leisure or touring cyclists without mtb to use. Which is the best for us? I'm a roadie/commuter/tourer. Partner is tourer, adventure tourer, mountain biker and commuter at times. Son is 10. Touring since 3.5 yo in various forms from child seat through to solo touring 50 miles from 5.5 or 4.5 attached to my bike when tired.
I ride my road bike off road on green and blur routes or have done so.
I think blue with odd red/blue section might be our level
Which one in that area would you recommend? We're planning to hire hard tail mountain bikes.
Best independent bike shop in and around Glasgow please. Looking for a reasonable quick turnaround on a full service on a road bike. Thanks.
Hello! I’m doing a tour in a couple weeks. We are planning on taking our bikes on the trains a few times, but have had trouble interpreting the information online.
Do we need bike reservations between Edinburgh and Glasgow? (In addition to the train ticket)
Do we need bike reservations from Oban to Glasgow?
Any information or tips would be much appreciated!!
Can anyone recommend a shop or business that can undertake paint repairs on carbon frames? Nothing structural just some scrapes on the seat stay of my lovely matt black carbon frame after an minor incident on a gravelly corner at the weekend.
Preferably in the Glasgow area but happy to travel a bit to get it done properly.
Cheers
As the title says, Fizik have a code on which adds an extra 25% off on top of the reduction which is already on their website, meaning you can get their saddles at a good price, but the minimum order is £135. I don't need anything else off their site, anyone want to split an order? I'm in Glasgow and could drop off/collect or post it on (obviously in person preferred cause it's free).
EDIT you may also be charged import duty - make sure to check the maths
I'm hoping that these kinds of posts are okay in this sub. In my late 20s in Glasgow and have been an avid mountainbiker for about 2 years now. Getting into doing more consistent solo road rides with my old genesis Croix de fer (Definitely not the full carbon 6k bikes I see on the roads around here).
I'm not a "serious" cyclist and don't intend on getting into the racing scene (Am interested in CX and gravel racing in the future). That said I do like to challenge myself and would be keen to find a group to ride with at a reasonable pace. Are there any group rides for folks like me in the area? I know there are quite a few clubs, but as a beginner I'm a bit intimidated at how serious and committed these groups seem if that makes sense, as I have a lot of hobbies with cycling being one of them!
Thanks Everyone!
Hi everyone! The HEAD lab at Imperial College London are developing a cycling helmet programme for cyclists on UK roads. We need your help selecting which helmets to test and would greatly appreciate it if you would kindly complete this survey:
We are keen to read different perspectives from all kinds of cyclists (even if you don't wear a helmet), and this survey should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete.
NOTE: This survey is for academic research and is not for commercial use.
Hi Scottish cyclist, i’m cycling the north coast 500 with a friend. The battery of his di2 shifting system is flat because of an error, and we don’t have a charger. Is there any change there is someone on the route with a charger which we can borrow to charge it? We’re now in Lochinver, tomorrow we’re heading to Tongue, the day after to tongue. Always bring your charger😂 Today he did 130 km without shifting! Scotland is amazing. Cheers, Daan
Another busy week of Guided Rides around Scotland coming up!
All free, just sign up and come along with your bike!
Greetings Cyclists.
My family and I will be visiting your country in July. My husband is the cyclist; he will be riding as much as possible. I've rented a bicycle for him and a car for the rest of us.
There will be some stretches of road where we need to transport the bike on or in the car. Unfortunately, neither the car hire place nor the bike place have racks available. I'm looking for the type of rack that fits on the back of almost any car. It only needs to hold one bike.
I would be willing to buy one (either new or used) and then donate it to a bicycle charity when we leave. However, I don't know where to get one. Google hasn't been much help in this case.
I did see a used one on Gumtree but I could hardly ask the seller to wait a month to sell it. The next best option is EBay, but where to have it shipped? I asked the bike hire place if we could ship it there and they said no; the car hire place is out of the question.
We'll be driving from Glasgow to Glencoe on July 6 as soon as we get the car and bike. The bike hire place is in the Cathcart area so ideally I'd like to get one from somewhere near there. We'll return the bike on July 20.
I would be grateful for any suggestions.
Thank you kindly.
Hiya,
I thought ill make time next long weekend to visit Scotland and find some nice hilly climbs. I wouldn't be keen travelling to north Scotland as ill be most of my car driving back to manchester :/

I just wanted to raise awareness of the British Cycling Let's Ride programme. It is a series of initiatives run across the UK to encourage and facilitate cycling for everyone. As part of it:
Please help to spread the voice, particularly with beginners. I feel many of us do not know about all this! It is a great way for beginners to get more confident on the bike and find new like-minded friends. There are currently group rides being organised in East Renfrewshire, Dumbartonshire, Lanarkshire, Glasgow, Perth and Borders! There is also a Facebook page "Scottish Guided Rides" where future events are advertised and experiences are shared.
If you want to become a ride leader, BC offers free training. You need to commit to organise 8 guided rides per year (any distance), and in exchange you'll get a free BC "ride" membership (including insurance), monthly BC member discounts, and a leader kit (jersey and jacket). Happy to answer questions if interested!
Thanks!
Looking for any advice on a single speed build. I have purchased an old Falcon Road bike (I assume from the 80s) and am planning to strip it down, possibly spray it and reassemble with a combination of cleaned up and new parts and convert it to a single speed (not fixed gear).
I don't have much experience other than basic bike maintenance. I have purchased a few tools (Chain whip and crack extractor / bottom bracket tool) to go along with my spanners and allen keys.
The bike it just about in working order with a fairly mucky chain and rear mech.
Looking for guidance on potential challenges with components I should look for, or avoid. The rear wheel / hub is the bit I'm concerned about in terms of getting right. As well as the bottom bracket. Are the sizes likely to be standard from the 80s to parts I would buy now?
While I'm expecting this to be a big challenge, I am prepared to work away at it and try to get it right - as well as learn a LOT along the way.
Hello Scottish Cyclists,
Got bored at work so I calculated how much I would be able to save by cycling in.
To try and raise awareness over how much we waste on transport (and the power of compounding interest) I've built an (albeit very basic calculator) that tells you how much you should be able to save by cycling.
Thought it may be of interest to you guys to try and help you save a few £
Hi Fellow Cyclers,
My sister was cycling yesterday and she was hit by an inattentive driver while leaving the train station at Aberdeen. She had the right of way and was T-boned and her bicycle was dragged 6 meters before the driver stopped. No-one called the Police and she is banged up pretty good.
Does anyone know of Bike Injury Lawyers that they would recommend as we would like to hold the drive accountable?
Thank you!
So, I'm moving jobs at the end of the week giving me 9 days to do what I like. Planning on doing some exploring on the bike. Does anyone have any recommendations of routes around Glasgow (preferably to the north but also interested in the southside)
Hi all, title says it all really! Will be wild camping with maybe a few leisure camps in between, but don't really know where to go... Will be 8 nights, 6 full days of biking and I am guesstimating 40-60 miles a day (not done any multi day stuff before though) Anyone got particular spots they like? Thanks!
