did anyone else think erwin was evile at first? i feel like they tried to portray him all mysterious and scary and tried to foreshadow his evilness (when he told the story abt his dad) i was fully convinced he was bad until his famous speech. anyways. Balls of titanium Erwin!
For some reason I can really see him liking trashy romance novels, I know there is absolutely no merit for this given his entire character but I can really imagine him having a weakness for them since he resigned his life to being alone. The cheesier the better and he’s whole heartedly into it.
They all deserve some quiet rest; a chill retirement. Because that's what happened at the end, right? Right?! 🥺
And I don't mean this in a "aw this character had a traumatic past he such a sad blorbo" like Eren and Levi. No, he just straight up depresses me. In a bittersweet melancholic way that I often find heartbreaking and incomparable to any other character.
My facilitator created this. It seemed like the right time to share it.
It does contain spoilers.
And... Don't read it if you can't handle an existential crisis. Just be mindful and practice scout's discretion.
Loosely inspired by ic3-que3n and theearlgreymage works and dedicated to them :3 check out their amazing stuff on ao3 too <3
Because, deep at heart, I'm a sucker for puns and cheesy one-liners <3 (And yes, it is my headcanon now that Keith Shadis had tampered with omd gear more often than what we've seen - after all he didn't want to have a lowlife thief in his ranks, did he? :p)
hi, anyone have any metas/essays/threads on erwins character or his philosophy, to be more specific?
he’s a really interesting character to me and i would like to understand him more.
thanks!!
Also on ig of anyone wants instagram.com/sometimes.i.drow
Mine would be Lee Pace (his height, voice, cheekbones, and eyebrows!) or Michael Fassbender. Both have the looks, charisma, and acting skills to nail the darkness and complexity of Erwin.
okay so ive been at aot fan for a long time now and ive consumed a lot of the media over those years and like???? how tf have i missed this???
i saw this frame from season 3 and like i have not once seen somebody so much as acknowledge it and i never saw it while watching the anime or reading the manga, i just stumbled upon it on a youtube video that displayed the military police being 'bad' and recognised him immediately because i make erwin amvs and like the overlay/include him since he's so important and detrimental to erwin's story.
take a look:
like we all knew he probably suffered some form of cruel brutality but LOOK AT HOW MAD THIS IS im losing my mind, wondering what his thoughts were in this moment and whether they were strongly attached to his son and if so - was there any bitterness??? i somehow doubt it but hell, humans are complicated so maybe, never rule out the possibility i guess
They can be whatever you want, cus im just bored rn.
I've always struggled a bit with drawing him in my semi-realistic art style but I feel like I managed to grasp his features quite accurately with this one. I hope you guys like it, I'm open to criticism and suggestions.
He's a 188cm tall military guy weighing 92kgs, so I imagine that he's physically a tank? I've even Googled the weight of some bulky celebrities around the same height and they turned out to weigh less? (All of them were between 80 and 85kgs) So yes, Erwin is a tank physically and this doesn't usually translate well in art and official illustrations, which is a shame.
Some people exaggerate his age to 40 and even older. Isayama said he's in his 30s, and only 3-4 years older than Levi (but younger than Miche!) Levi is in his early 30s, which means 30-34. Erwin would then be 35-38, right? But how old do you think he specifically was?
Not why you like him, but why you're attracted to him, if you are.
For me personally, it's his regal and elegant masculinity, his charisma and presence, and his intelligence. And most importantly, it's the fact that he carries himself with so much confidence and self-assuredness in spite of his self-doubt, self-loathing, and essentially his imposter syndrome. He's someone you can for sure rely on because he neither falters nor compromises, even when deep down he's crumbling under the pressure and accountability. I just find this ridiculously attractive.
This is the cleaner version that i messsed up in my IG post. I find it fitting for him to add the Sherlock Holmes OST
