I applied but haven’t heard much back. I think the myBenefits site is terrible to navigate and doesn’t share much information.

Just wondering if anyone here has these benefits…if so, how long did it take you to hear back? And how do you actually receive the benefit?

A few weeks ago I was granted a patent for a product I designed and 3D printed. As I went through the patent process and paid so much money, it started to hit me that I have no idea how to get the business going and the money to do it.

Early on, I thought I could just print out everything but I would need to setup a print farm. Now I really think it needs to be injection molded.

People say the same thing “go to China and get it made there”. Fine, but where and how do I know I can trust them.

My hope is that there must be someone here in Rochester that I can work with and together we can make this product a huge success.

By the way, I will not say what the product is here. If you are interested and in a position to help, then drop me a message. Be forewarned however that you’ll have to convince me you are on the up and up before I reveal the product and and give up my ideas.

Looking for a public place in the area to practice my shooting and skating (with inline skates). Are there any parks or schools Rochester/Monroe Co that have a net or 2 on pavement or concrete?

My 17 yr old brother is going down a wrong path. He is taking fake bars, and is hanging around the wrong people. The kid almost died a few months ago. Does anyone know any programs that can straighten him out?

I realize this is obnoxious, but, my kid is 15 and dying to see a show that’s coming up which happens to be 16+ with guardian. Any idea how strict that will be if I’m with him? I mean 16 year olds don’t always have IDs anyway…

Hello. I am currently in a stressful situation where I take care of a child during the day until 4 pm. I need to be able to work but it can only be after 4 pm.

Any jobs here that I can work like this? I would prefer it not be overnight as I need strength during that day and cannot sleep all day. Just something that is maybe four to six hours in the evening.

Copying and pasting links to local news stories without adding a specific point to discuss, additional information, or commentary generally adds no value to the sub. We all visit the same news sites and see the same stories. If there’s something to discuss or someone has additional information, put it out there, but copying and pasting links to every news story seems lazy and obscures posts with actual value.

Am I in the minority here?

I have been the race director for one of the local races for the last ten years, and we give out coffee mugs to the race participants, which are dated for each year's race and have the race's name and logo.

Often, we end up with more mugs than race participants and volunteers, and over the years, I have accumulated a collection of coffee mugs in my basement.

Is there a charity or cause to donate the coffee mugs? I'd hate just to toss them away, but I don't want to hoard them forever.

Can anybody tell me how I can get a picture ID in one day? I lost my wallet right before my sister wants to take me to see a band tommorow. It's 21+ and they probably won't let me in. Can I obtain a picture ID quickly from anywhere but the DMV? (I already ordered a new ID but it won't come in for another two weeks.)

Nowhere to plea on traffic ticket?

I got a ticket for an expired inspection a while back and completely forgot about it (yeah i know). When I called to take care of it, the person from the town court said to respond to it when they email it to me and to attach pictures of my inspection too. In the email they said “I have attached a copy of the ticket you received. Please put your plea of not guilty or guilty, sign and date it. You may email it back to me.”

How do I plea if there’s nowhere to do it on the ticket?

I'm moving about four miles or so on April 28th or 29th and I need to find a local, affordable, reputable moving company for an 800 sq ft apartment. Nothing huge or heavy, just average small furniture, kitchen stuff, several storage totes, etc. I was planning to just do a Pod or U Pack but damn they're ridiculous! I also put in for a quote from Two Men and a Truck but would like some other recommendations if you have them. Thanks!

Hi there, for some reason a lot of things in my life kinda started to point on Rochester and i think why not to use it as an opportunity to finally get a PPL there(because clubs around NYC really inconvenient and cost a lot). Any recommendations what flight clubs or schools to check?

Tried to reach out to WFC(really nice pricing for a full PPL), still waiting for a response from them, but as i understand i need to be approved by their board and it's gonna take some time.

I'm planning to move in 6 months and stay for a year, so definitely not in a rush and will be able to visit Rochester couple times for a test flights prior to moving.

Does anyone know how much it costs to park at the amphitheater? Do I have to get the $55 parking pass or is there a basic entrance fee that is lower? $55 is more than I paid for my concert ticket so this seems insane

I’ve used WM since I moved into my house many moons ago, they were the only choice at the time. We never had issues. The last year or so my bill has been creeping up in cost. I called when it first went up and was told ‘fuel costs’, insurance, environmental etc were the causes. My bill still kept increasing every quarter and it is unmanageable. Recently I started looking around for other service and called WM again because I saw they offer a smaller garbage tote for less, so I asked about that… was told it was not available in my area. I was at the point I am considering taking my garbage myself to the dump on the weekends.

This week was it. I called to cancel and got transferred over retention. I said I was canceling because of the cost. They then told me to hold and gave me a new amount, that would be my future bill, that was f-ing half what I just paid them last month. The person in the phone told me that they have on their bill/invoice to pay it if you agree to the amount, and also it says you don’t get a refund. So I was basically out the money I just paid.

I asked if I was expected to haggle, and how could they do this and was told that they have a ‘computer’ increase bills and if I agree to pay thats my choice. I then asked about auto pay. And was told as a consumer it’s my job to read over any invoices.

So now my bill is half what it was I asked if the computer increases my ‘invoice’ again what should I do? I was told to call retention again they will lower it. This is very scammy imo it’s like having to get a better rate for cable back in the day

TLDR Waste Management auto increases bills, you have to call them threaten to cancel because of the cost and they will reset your bill. What a terrible company.

First Glen Johnson was released from Channel 13,he is my favorite meteorologist. Then Ginny and Doug left,who I totally enjoyed watching. Now Don Alhart is retiring. Don is like Rochesters own Walter Cronkite. So far I have not impressed with any of the newbies. I don't know what news I will be watching once Don leaves.

So I guess there was a raid on fish Street today. By Central Park? I'm not exactly sure but that's what I'm being told by this guy. Lol I guess a lotta people got cuffed up and taken down town. That's one more house gone and hopefully for good!! Need to clean these streets up!!
