I bought a set of used tires/rims and wasn't expecting the TPMS to work because they were off a Toyota. The tires aren't much longer for this world so I was just gonna get new TPMS when I bought new tires
My digital display now has a 2" wide vertical black line down the middle of my cluster after swapping to the aftermarket set but once going for a drive 3 out 4 sensors started reading and turns out the wheels were on a Ram before the Toyota. I know the system can self learn if the sensors are the correct ones
My display is still funky. Sometimes it has the black line down the middle and other times it displays properly but slightly fuzzy
I tried disconnecting the battery thinking a hard reset might of worked but no luck
Planing on buying 2001 1500 and don’t like the headlights or front bumper and want to know if they are easily swap able to the pic shown

I drive my truck a little locally, sometimes for work during the week, mostly on weekends for Hone Depot, etc. But I primarily take her on big road trips every couple of months. I've put prob 20,000 miles on her since May going from the Midwest to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, the Appalachian mountains, Nebraska, and the mountains in Western Montana. I usually drive around 12-15 hours every day on these trips (I just like driving and sightseeing that way.) When I get to wherever I'm going, I like to find the most remote little roads I can find out in the middle of nowhere and go squirrelling around in her. Sometimes it gets a little hairy and I end up using the 4WD to get outta mud holes, snow, and a sandpit once. I know I let it idle way too much - I use it for climate control when I go on a winter trip and it's like 10 degrees outside.
I finally got the 4WD fixed this weekend and my buddy is going to help me weld some plates to the frame where I've got a couple finger-sized rust holes. Got a rubber boot on a control arm that's broken and it sounds like I just need to replace the whole control arm. Other than that... she's good to go, medically speaking. And now that I'm not looking at $$$$ for a 4WD fix, I want to look at what else I can do on a mechanical level to extend the life of the truck and make it more durable for the kind of use I'm putting it through. I'm replacing the spark plugs, draining and refilling coolant, brake fluid, saw something about pulling the transmission fluid pan(?) to replace and refill with fresh fluid. She's getting new A/T tires soon as well. Got some body rust around the wheel wells and at the doors by the step bars I need to deal with sooner rather than later. And I need to weld on new brackets for the step bars. Passenger side has started to get rusted out and loose so I'm going to pull the bars, weld new brackets, and install new bars.
What are some easy- moderately difficult things I can replace with upgraded parts, fluids, etc to make my truck hum in happiness? My skill level is... most complicated thing I've done is replacing the output shaft seal between the transfer case and drive shaft.
I know my truck is older than many on here and has a lot of miles already but like.... this is my girl. I'm not replacing her, I want to give her some love. And after doing a number of repairs to her over the years, I'm pretty familiar with what her guts look like so it's easier to work on her vs my irritating af Ford car.
This can be nothing but good news for Ram and Dodge. I’ve seen multiple articles that mentioned how he just didn’t ‘get’ American’s love for big vehicles. He was simply out-of-touch with consumer desires and certainly set ridiculous high prices that the average consumer could not afford. Maybe now the American brands can be purchased by Americans and made successful again. Here’s hoping.
So I’ve recently started looking at new trucks (Ford or RAM) and came to learn of the tumultuous time Stellantis have been going through. Now with the CEO of Stallantis having resigned, am I completely ignorant to still consider deeply discounted RAMs? I know there may be some bias considering the audience here, but I’m curious what you guys think.
Related points I’m considering are:
I have a 2015 Ram 1500 Tradesman with the 5.7 V8 and I was having some electrical problems. I have a no crank, no start, no click no anything. I am getting power and voltage is at 12v. My OBD2 port has power and no communication. Also a section of my fuse box isn't getting any power. Any ideas of what could be going on?
What are some reputable online vendors to get some basic mods? Grill, running boards, level kit, head/tail lights etc
Im the little 5.7 ram on the right lol, I want to get the “ rt bumpers “ the ones with the foglights and the rear ( preferably color matched ) but im kind of having trouble finding some OEM or whatever doesnt matter tbh. But i wanted to ask whats a good website or place to obtain some i dont want anything thats going to leave gaps or look wonky. Also this is a 2014, if im doing the bumper conversion to the sport bumper do i need anything else besides just the bumper? any extra hardware, brackets, etc.
Mine takes 275/65R18 according to the sticker. However, Costco is all out of the Michelin X-Ice Snow tires for the foreseeable future and they said the LT275/65R18 Blizzaks would be okay. Is this true?
I purchased a 2014 Laramie recently. Haven’t even had the first oil change yet. After the first few days I got a coolant light that came on at startup. Sure enough, the coolant reservoir was bone dry. Throw some coolant in there and a week later the light still comes on at start up. After about a 100mile trip this weekend (with the heat defrost running constantly) my oil temp on the dash was around 215 F and coolant temp was up to 225 F
Here are my thoughts:
Do any of you know or have experience with a similar issue or know what might be the cause of this?
Feel free to downvote or delete if this type of post isn’t allowed. I previously owned a Tacoma where posts like this were pretty frequent. TYIA
I have a 2019 1500 Tradesman and it came with no fog lights from factory. I bought these on ebay. Install was pretty easy but when I “wired” them in, they did not turn on at all. I have never done anything like this so I have not idea if I did it right. Im wondering if there is a video or anyone can help with wiring these. I went to a shop and they quoted me $120 to wire them but the guy gave me a smirk after I told him “I installed them, all that needs to be done is to wire them” , not sure what to do but that quote seemed kinda crazy.
Anyone know what this wiring could be runs up the passenger side fender well and goes up the firewall.truck hasn’t ran in 4 years finally got it going and notified my cluster going crazy but stumbled on this broken wiring
What’s going on everyone. I wanted to know if I could add a flow master to my already straight pipe truck? My truck is a ram 1500 2013 with straight pipe plus two 6 inch tips. This is my first time making any mods to any vehicle so if this is a dumb question forgive me in advance.
Looking at trading in for a 1500 something 5.7 liter so I can tow more without being too over trucked. There are so many options it can be a bit daunting. What are some things you wish you might have known before buying your truck? Thanks.
Hey all just wanted to put this out there while doing research to see if anyone had any ideas.
Recently my dome light stopped working on 2013 express. It's the only interior light (no map lights). Normally this don't bother me but with daylight savings and the sun going down at like 5 in the afternoon it is a little weird.
The light dosent turn on at all. Not for the doors or the switch on the light panel. I changed it out for a new bulb but that didn't work so I started chasing fuses. Google says f12 for interior lights was it but the fuse seems to be fine. Does anyone know any other fuses responsible for the dome light?
Also not sure if this is related or not but while I was trying to find the fuse for the dome light I also saw my cargo light and one of my reverse lights were not working. When I hit the button for the cargo light it turns off after a second but the instrument cluster still thinks its on. Are these related in any way?
Anybody recognize what can cause this?
Radiator cap was clean, fluid is clear, does not look like sludge. Just a lot of loose fine specs.
Replaced radiator, hoses, and thermostat about a year ago after my radiator burst. Replaced radiator fan about 6 months ago after the truck kept over heating, that seam to stop over heating.
I have a Ram 2011 1500, replaced transmission about 3 years ago.
I’ve scoured the forums looking for an answer but can only find people with similar issues.
Ambient lights, all switches, horn, heated wheel, radio controls on the back, etc all do not work other than cruise control.
I’ve changed the clock spring which seems to be the go-to fix (twice brand new just in case) and I’ve also changed the left side toggle controls. Have also checked for continuity in everything I could, all seems normal.
I’m sure there’s something pinched or broken but I just can’t figure it out and am tired of tearing into the steering wheel. Debating on buying an entirely new wheel with all new harness and controls just to resolve this.
I’ve seen some say on forums it needs a flash, which I hope is not true. Truck is emissions free and I would rather not take the chance of going to a dealer
Thoughts?
My new 4th gen ram 1500
Hey folks, just got a 2020 single cab tradesman 2500 6.4 4x4. I wanted to check the engine hours and saw a few people say/post pics of it on the dash display, however I have a different dash then all the pictures are showing. I was wondering if I am able to check my hours on this dash or need to hook up to the PCM or something. Attached is a photo of my dash.
Just bought a new '24 Laramie. Came pretty well loaded up, but missing running boards. Interested in what people have and like. Brands and pics appreciated.
I just bought a 2020 1500 Crew cab, and I'm looking for some seat cover recommendations. I have two children so there will be two carseats in the back, I'm hoping someone has found some that allow the little hooks to attached to the seat (if you know you know), down where the back would meet the bottom.
I've read that a couple of the covers require you to remove the seat completely.
Does anyone know if the bumper to bumper warranty covers paint defects? I have a 21 with the extended bumper to bumper and the hood is bubbling with no chips or nicks in the paint. Any help would be great!
