I am an artist (queer + woman) looking to produce my first album! I am wanting to connect with some likeminded individuals + instrumentalists in this space and make some awesome music.
The music I have been writing lately is mostly acoustic/folk style but my interests/influences span broadly outside of that from r&b to jazz to electronic to rock.. the list goes on.
I am also looking for someone willing to mentor and teach me more about audio production in general. I have foundational knowledge about DAWs and how to work basic plug ins, but it would be really cool to learn more hands on with someone more experienced.
It’s been disheartening to see how little queer/women representation there is on the production side of music, and I am looking for my people to help get more women/queer individuals involved with this side of music.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations, thanks!
Hey guys! Local student producer here that’s always looking to expand his knowledge and looking for like minded artists, producers, enthusiasts alike! Just trying to fall into the right group of people!! I like messing around with house, melodic house, DNB, dubstep-I just love music in general but I always find myself stuck in these genres! I have a full home studio setup and I play keys, guitar, drums etc. as I come from a background of playing in bands messing around growing up! Tap in
Hi people of NOLAMusic, I’ll be visiting in November with my 15yo. We’re both musicians and it’d be great for him to get a taste of New Orleans live music. Are there venues or other music events he’d be allowed in?
We’re going to try and catch a second line on Sunday but any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Hello! Touring band here, we play psychedelic/jazz/funk rock and are always looking to expand our knowledge of the local community and scene. What are some of YOUR favorite venues to see/experience music in?
Thanks for your time!
I’ll be in town for the whole month of November and I’d like to connect with a working jazz/trad jazz/soul pianist to get a couple of lessons. Any ideas of who I could try to connect with?
Add info: I’m a sax player/producer, but I’m getting serious about piano these days. I’m looking for inspiration and guidance, directly from the motherland of jazz.
Hello! I’m from California and I recently visited New Orleans. While on bourbon street me and my friends got caught in a dance that it seemed everyone knew that’s very similar to the Cupid shuffle that we do in California! Me and my friends had so much fun that we wanted to bring it back to our college town! But for the life of us we can’t remember the words (courtesy of bourbon st.) and we forgot to ask the name of the song. Can anyone tell me the name? The dance was to a kinda hip hop song and the dance was similar to this: Step out right step out right Step out left step out left Turn back it up back it up And I can’t remember the rest of the dance. But me and my friends wanted to look it up and learn it and know the song thank you!
Hey everyone! Do you have a teenager or know someone who does, and are looking for ways to get them out of the house and socializing?
If so, I’m excited to share something special that’s close to my heart: our Teen Music and Mural Night, hosted by the GNO Social Arts Network!
This BI-weekly event is a fantastic way for teens to step into the spotlight with bands they’ve formed, practice their musical chops, and simply have a great time hanging out with peers.
But that’s not all – we’ve also got a community mural project where everyone is welcome to pick up a brush and contribute to a growing piece of art.
It’s a perfect outing for teens to express themselves and enjoy some creative freedom outside of home.
I’m reaching to spread the word and would love your help!
Please share this flyer with them!
Let’s get our youth involved, inspired, and interconnected through the power of music and art.
Next Teen night is July 6th! Go to our website GNOsocialartsnetwork.org to Book your band!
Hope to see y’all there!
26 year old, I play guitar and keys. Looking to start an original band, open to doing a few covers. DM if interested
