This guy busted the front doors of Slim Goodies on Magazine last night. Come eat pancakes and talk shit about him with us.
I’m from Europe, coming to America in March 2025. Alligator is high on my list of foods I want to try since we don’t have it over in Europe.
I’ve seen some videos of people smoking alligator in Louisiana, so I was wondering if there’s like a (family)restaurant that serves these.
Help me out please!
So getting married in Audobon park next Thursday and looking for either a photo student or someone with great cell phone skills on theirs to take a few photos. Ceremony is 2O minutes tops. Will pay you 50 bucks. We really only need 2 or 3 good ones during and 1 posed before or after. Inbox if interested.
Growing up, I often dreamed of my neighborhood in a state of ruin. In these dreams, it was as if the place had become a wasteland. I would walk through the streets I knew so well, but the buildings were hollowed-out shells, their windows shattered, the insides swallowed in darkness. Some were half-collapsed, exposing people’s furniture left hanging out of broken windows, like artifacts from a life abandoned. homes in a state far beyond repair, uninhabitable, forsaken. The causes of this decay shifted from dream to dream. Sometimes, a flood or hurricane had swept through, tearing everything apart. Other times, there were Blackhawk helicopters overhead, evacuating my family and me. And in some dreams, the neighborhood was actively falling apart around us—a wrecking ball demolishing walls or explosions tearing through the streets, as if at war. The destruction looked different each time, but the aftermath was always the same—a desolate, dilapidated world.
These visions left me with an eerie certainty: one day, this neighborhood might no longer exist as it was.
In 2004, I got my first digital camera. Maybe subconsciously, I was driven by those dreams to document the neighborhood, capturing it as it was. Then, in 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck, and the neighborhood was inundated with up to 13 feet of water the blackhawks came, the boats came. we were rescued. Less than a year later, I returned to a ghost town. By 2007, people were organizing protests, trying to save the neighborhood, to bring life back to the place we called home. Some even moved back, creating what they called “Survivors’ Village,” living without electricity or running water to prove that the buildings were still salvageable. But ultimately, the fight was lost. By the end of that year, demolition began. And I found myself standing in the very scene my dreams had shown me over and over—a neighborhood emptied, a vision of the life that used to be, now reduced to rubble and memory. That place was the St. Bernard Project, the St. Bernard Housing Development in Pilotland. Now, it’s Columbia Parc. I don’t live there anymore, but I live nearby, and whenever I look in that direction, my mind fills with images of the old neighborhood, like echoes that never fade. It’s like that each time I realize something that once was, is no longer. It’s strange—this feeling, that part of me still wanders through the shadows of those dreams, through places that exist only in memory.

I drew the vacant lot.
Trying to find a Pilates studio where I won’t be funding a RFK supporting anti-vaxer. Any solid recommendations?

Today a friendly Verizon salesman came to my door (how old school) to tell me they installed fiber in my neighborhood. I also think AT&T recently did the same. Does anybody have experience with either of these? Is it better coverage than cox? We pay $70 a month for cox plan but when we moved to this house cox was the only option. It is absolute trash and I have to switch to my phone hotspot for work calls all the time, even with only one device connected. The Verizon guy said they only charge $50 a month for fiber for the first two years, is it too good to be true? Or is someone finally challenging the cox monopoly with a better product?
Edit: Seems like he was a scammer - beware !!
If any American city outside of the northeast should have Sicilian food, it's gotta be New Orleans. Someone please tell me there's at least one Sicilian restaurant with foods like arancini, caponata, pasta Alla Norma, et al.
Does a real Sicilian restaurant still exist in New Orleans?
Seems to advertise a bunch of electronics and what not for sale but I’ve never seen it open.
Following up on this post from a few weeks ago. After 2 meter readings in 12 years and 2 administrative hearings that produced no results other than promises to locate and read my meter, the new third party dispute system has cleared up all of my issues and zeroed out $3,100 of the $3,400 that was outstanding on my account. So, if you've got issues with SWBNO call (504) 910-6484
It was a few days from the initial call to the first phone interview. The initial person could only authorize removal of half the bill, so we had to escalate to the supervisor. The supervisor called about 5 days later and said they understood the issue and would get back to us. They called today to tell us the other half was being taken off, but that the most recent estimated bill (which got generated yesterday) couldn't be taken off. Total time from call to resolution: 17 days.
I bought a glass of wine at the event, and my credit card was skimmed. This was a vendor, *not* LASPCA, and the vendor may not have known that their Square account was compromised. Fortunately, it's a card I don't use often, and the issuer picked up on the fraud, cancelled the card, reversed the fraudulent charges, and they're sending me a new card.
Buncha savages in this town.
I'm trying to find someone in the city who can do florals and feels comfortable tattooing hands. I want to get something like this done, but I want to wrap it around my fingers or have more vines. My usual artist just moved out of state, so I'm looking for a new one. Any suggestions are very welcomed!
Where do you get your pancetta here ? Craving some carbonara
I usually fish for specks in the lake but I see people with big cat rods and pretty hefty gear fishing. Are they fishing for black drum or catfish if so what?
11 14-17. I'm glad about it. Just didn't seem right at the convention center.
hi everyone! my fiancé and I voted by mail - and when I went to check the status of our ballots today, mine is showing as received by the registrar. His is …. showing that he does not exist as a registered voter.
this is the same portal he requested his absentee ballot from, the same portal I have been requesting status updates in… we mailed our ballots on the same day.
Anyone else having this issue? Seems crazy that he suddenly does not exist as a registered voter, after voting?!
Gf sent me this
