Please tell me someone anyone has even the slightest clue what Tobago sane boo was around 9pm last night (Monday) around rt 80/quinnipiac area (grand ave side). It was insane. I’ve lived in Fair Haven my entire life so I’m well accustomed to shitty cars, gun shots, m80s, etc. I was parked on Eastern st by Bella vista when it happened, and I was fully expecting to see one of the buildings blown up, people running, maybe a scream….nothing. NOTHING! I genuinely thought this was it, I’ve finally gone completely insane lol throw me in a padded room and q throw Away the key lol. But I was quickly validated by a security guard who also heard the BOOM while on the 17th floor! He me mentioned something about the sewers? Idk I’m pretty sure a water main bursting y doesn’t sound like a literal bomb and would cause a lot more commotion. PLEASE PEOPLE I NEED ANSWERS ! I’ve googled and facebooked every corner with nothing not even on, On scene media (if you’re a nosy NHV local like me def follow em)

I’m hosting an event at a venue on Elm St on a Saturday and it is scheduled to end around midnight. Because of street parking technically having a two hour limit I believe most people are going to be parking in garages downtown (most likely Temple or Crown St Garage).

My question: do you think guests are in danger around the City Green walking down Temple St to either of those garages at like 12am?

Any boot-scooters and scuttle-butters out there, Ellis Bullard and the boys are in town from Texas for a second night at Cafe Nine. These guys are real deal country western music, and Ellis sounds like a modern day Waylon/Dwight Yoakam. Showtime is a little loosey goosey tonight but should be around 8 PM.

I'm a 24 year old male finishing some pre-requisite credits this fall before starting a MA education program and I'm looking for a good place to study in New Haven on Saturdays and Sundays. I'm currently located in Hamden closest to the New Haven line and I was disappointed to find that only the main branch of the Hamden Public Library is open on the weekends (the Whitneyville location would've been perfect), and that I'm technically closer to the Yale libraries than the Miller Library (which is closed on Sundays anyway).

My place currently doesn't have WiFi, and I've been getting along fine with phone hotspot data, but it's more about my living space not being a conducive workspace and finding a better mental space for productivity. The Yale libraries website is difficult to follow and it doesn't seem like downtown New Haven is the best spot to find free parking. Is my best bet the Miller Library?

My friend from Taiwan is visiting the US and we are planning to meet in New Haven. She’s staying in NYC and I live in Massachusetts so it seems like a decent half way point to meet.

What would you recommend we do if in the city for a day? I’ll have my car so willing to drive up to 30ish minutes in any direction. We are both outdoorsy people so if there are any hikes or parks around that’s a plus. Food recommendations would be helpful too! Places to avoid?

Tl;dr, Joe drove the car from downtown to Branford, and then bought us breakfast with the money we had given him earlier in the night. And kept running out to the car to make sure our passed out friend was getting black coffee pumped into him

That guy who always posts table tennis invites on this sub at wooster square. I played him the other day and he completely demolished me full knowing that I was a complete beginner. He was literally trying his hardest against me for whatever reason =/ And after the game ended, he didnt even shake my hand and just left. I was stunned by what i thought was going to be an innocent game of ping pong, like wtf
