Where can I find some good hiking/biking trails in Saybrook?
4) Classifieds and non-profit/community-based advertisements (ex. tag sales, charity drives, beach houses for rent) are permitted. The mods ask, however, that when your thing is sold or event is over that you delete your post. Posts of this sort that are still around after 30 days from its original posting will be removed, unless the OP edits the post referencing this rule and that the item/event is still available.

If the mods catch acts such as individual shaming, extreme commentary (ex. death threats), or involuntary doxxing, your account will be banned from this subreddit, and possibly, all of Reddit itself.
7) The mods have final say on what stays posted, what gets removed, and who gets banned. They also have the right to make any modifications to these rules at any time, without warning.

Hey, we're looking to have a gathering after my mother's memorial service at St John's. My family wants to have it at a brewery that could accommodate around 40 people. I'm not from the area, anyone have any recommendations?
I’m new to the area and looking for a barber. Does anyone have any recommendations? Or recommendations about where else to post to find someone?
I’m primarily looking for someone who knows what they’re doing maintaining a medium-long length beard. Most importantly, I want an LGBTQ+ friendly person/environment.
Thanks for your help!
Anyone know where I could get some hedge-type roses this time of year? All I've seen are the smaller knock out roses.
Looking for Apothecary rose (Rosa gallica), rosa virginiana, something like that.
Can anyone tell me the laws on roosters in Old Saybrook? Are they allowed to just constantly make noise all day and night? In a residential area?
Hi all! I’ll be in town for a date this Sunday and was trying to plan a day. So far I have Harvey’s beach and Saybrook Point. Any other activities I should check out? Are there any boat tours? Didn’t see any on google.
Also another question, is there any good walking trails along the water or in general? From the map it looks like a lot of private residential homes. We’re gonna use Uber, but hoping to just walk for most of the day.
We’re downsizing and have no room for Sole treadmill, Sole elliptical and Schwin spinning bike.
Also have backpack, walk behind leaf blowers and a cub cadet track snowblower.
Thanks in advance.

My parents’ house is sorely in need of someone to come in and refinish a 24’ by 12’ floor that’s been under carpet since the early 70s. The majority of the carpet has already been pulled up: the boards are all good, so this would be completely cosmetic.
It’s likely the house will be sold in 10ish years (or whenever they pass), so they aren’t looking for anything crazy, just well done. I’ve done a lot of googling, but I don’t live in the area and they did their own repairs for most of my life, so I’m looking for any personal recommendations any locals may have.
They also have a room they want to lay down pergola in, so any recommendations for that are appreciated!
I have received a job offer which would require me to move to Old Saybrook. I currently live in Atlanta, Georgia and am from central Georgia and have never been to Connecticut in my life.
I do not know anyone that lives in Connecticut either.
I am a big fisherman, hunter, and golfer. From what I can tell there aren't many great options on the golfing front but am I wrong in this regard? It seems like fishing would be great for bluefish and stripers and I'd expect to have to drive to find a good place to hunt.
I would be allowed to stay in Atlanta until my lease runs out in February at which time I would be required to move. Are there any particular places I should avoid? Are there any particular places for young (25, will be 26) people to live?
I haven't accepted the job offer just yet as there are quite a few things I have to weigh before making the move. It seems that with all things considered Old Saybrook is not a cheap place to live so despite the elevated pay I'd receive I'm not sure if the ~20% increase in COL is worth it.
All in all, I'd love to hear some info on the town and surrounding areas!
Never expected our little town to get its own dedicated community on here, very nice to see.
