After a few snags (someone one buying the used one I was going to, and ordering one, but it arrived damaged), I was able to get my first guitar this weekend. Here’s to hoping it will be a fun ride learning.
No idea where to begin on switching pickups but these are trash I love the guitar but after I bought my 7 string with some real badass pickups I never ever realized it. Anybody else have a Gio that youve switched out your pick ups and if you did Which ones did you use?
I've been trying to improve my riff writing and experiment with some tech Death, counterpoint and harmonies, but I can't get the hang of it
I’m trading a MIM Jaguar and have gotten offers of both the listed guitars. Red spalted maple top EC-1000 Deluxe (2018 GC/MF exclusive color) without case and 2020 Schecter Sun Valley Exotic Hardtail with hard case. The EC has blackened black winter pickups and the Schecter has Sun Valley & Pasadena pickups. I’m not looking to play metal exclusively so the Black Winters might be a con, while the 24.75” scale is a pro. With the Schecter, the pros are the more versatile pickups (?) and the ebony fingerboard(vs rosewood on LTD)/unique neck and the cons are the scale length and the fact that I already have some strat body guitars while I don’t have any single cuts. Both in excellent condition and both made in Korea. Which would you guys choose? Sorry if this isn’t allowed.
Hi, I'm a university student and for my final project I'll be needing to do some market research. The project is based on myself turning old, disused skateboards into an electric guitar, and figuring out sustainable methods to creatively reduce waste.
I would love to hear any input, from musicians, sustainability enthusiasts or if you're just curious.

Feel free to share any thoughts or questions below, thanks!
Note: I'm not a musician myself, so I may not be able to answer complex musical questions, but any feedback is still greatly appreciated!
I'm a classical pianist, and so have a lot of finger dexterity. But the only thing I can do on guitar sounds like Vinnie Vincent, or the Great Kat, or a sloppy MAB, or Malmsteen with bad co-ordination. I can tap, sweep pick, etc., but if someone asked me to accompany Kumbayah, I'd be lost.
Is there anyone else who can relate to this- who can 'shred,' but can't actually play guitar the way normal people do?
No one I know does this, the only correct way to palm mute is putting different amounts of your palm over the strings to get the sound you want. I feel like the advice of intentionally using the side of your hand is just people parroting each other
Love this track. Also one of my favorite guitars.
