Hi all. I've been playing for roughly 18 months now, completely self taught but I feel I'm not progressing. I play the same dozen or so easy riffs that I know but when I try to learn something a little more complex I just can't get the feel of it. Being self taught I know no theory and only play drop tuned riffs to make it as easy as possible. By doing this have I set myself up for failure and won't actually progress? Anyone that has been in this position and was able to move forward, I would love to hear how you accomplished it or any other tips to help with progressing. Cheers 👍👍
GUITAR WANTED: I am looking for a Cort EVL-K4 (or EVL-K5, EVL-K6) and if you have that guitar and can sell it to me you'd make me very happy.
I want this guitar very badly.
If the condition of the guitar justifies it I'd even pay the full price it has when it was new. I also can trade you a Cort EVL-X4 or a Cort EVL-X5 for it.
But... you should be in the EU and Europe so that the guitar can be delivered to Germany. If you want to trade instead it is only possible in Germany.
Thank you for your time.
I’m using a pitch shifter on a baritone, so there’s a bit of latency, and it’s a custom tone I developed in tonebridge. I’m very much a novice, so any useful feedback is appreciated.
Always enjoyed the floaty wtf vibe of this riff. Used it as a section of a song on my first album last year.
The black metal is clean tho
I can play guitar for somewhat level, means I check tabs not the music notes and try out various guitar parts, these days I’m trying to learn Are you dead yet by COB.
I do have little knowledge of music theory, like I know chords major chords some power chords and basic understanding of music notes sharp , flats etc.
I really want to make a song, I’m writing down by thoughts but it doesn’t not make sense like a proper song, let’s assume I write something good in coming days. How can I put music or melody to it. I might sound really dumb because I’m a beginner, I really want to make my own music. Any advice or guidance from the fellow metal lovers 🤘
I know questions like this are common but I couldn't keep myself from asking. I basically want recommendations. Main thing I like about Accept is the guitar being extremely interesting to listen. They have great solos and energy. I don't like growling vocals so please don't reccomend such bands.
Here are some of the songs I like the most:
So I've been playing for around half a year, I would say I'm pretty good for the time I'm playing, the best thing I can play is the stairway solo and I'm learning music theory with my guitar teacher. I really like bands like a7x and pantera and I can play most of the songs but not the solos and I want to know what I need to learn and what ro focus on for say the next year to be able to play solos that are more complex. And I would like solo reccomendatikna that are on the level of the stairway solo
My amazing wife has offered to buy me a guitar as a birthday+anniversary+christmas present, with a budget of $900. I can take something within 900 or supplement it and raise the budget.
We’re in East Asia so the guitar prices here are a bit wonky. The guitar store has a pair of ESP E-IIs that I really like - an M1 single pickup (EMG 57) with hipshot hardtail ($1300) an M2 with BKP Aftermaths and Hipshot hardtail ($1500). The body and neck are almost identical and I kind of like both.
They’ve recently got a pair of RG550s priced at $720 which I haven’t had a chance to try yet but I expect they’d sell out pretty fast. I’ve heard great things about MIJ Ibanez guitars but I’m not too wild about the floyd
What should it do
May sound dumb (I’m new) but is there a set of passive pickups that sound similar to EMG 81/60s? My guitar isn’t made for actives
If not is there anyway to swap passive pickups for actives?
hi! i have a question… how can i create my own riffs? like actually, do i need music theory? i need some tutorials and help!
I know that changing string gauge and tunings (not Drops but literally tunings) is a pain in the ass to adjust just like floyd roses.
I want a 7 string guitar and i would like to switch tunings from standard tuning, to Bb tuning, to something else.
For Bb tuning it requires a low tension module, meanwhile Standard tuning well... just standard.
My question is: if i buy a low tension module, can i also change to standard tuning or then i would need to buy a standard module?
Because i can't get if the modules need to be either low, high or standard based on gauge or strings, or if i got a low module i also got the benefits of a standard module.
It may sound confusing, but i want clearance.
Been getting into metal and wanna play without bothering my family and neighbors. Considering either one of these. Would love to hear thoughts!
I really need some intermediate metal songs to learn 6 string
How can I get someone to make a tab for a song that doesn't have one yet?
Would like to get this short song tabbed properly so I could play it. I'm useless at trying to do it myself, I've tried.
Cheers
Planning on Upgrade my LTD ec-256 does anyone have use this combo?
