I used to play guitar all the time, some things happened and I haven’t played in about 11 years. How do I get my chops back? The few times I have picked it up and I can tell I can’t play the way I used to. Can I regain my skill level relatively quickly? The picture is me around 2009 or so.
I figured out I new way to play hammer-ons. I never usually play them like this!
When I switch from the 5th to 7th fret with my fingers, there is always this high string noise. How do I prevent it?
I didn’t add this pic in my previous post so here’s the question again. My grandson was asking me about the slash marks on all the middle strings below the notes. I have no idea. Can someone help me out please?
My grandpa struggled with dementia and suffered a series of strokes. So he lived with me for awhile. I was never the favorite or his favorite grandchild to brag about. We had a tumultuous relationship but I was there for the end. We bonded over him playing his guitar. Helped with memory loss and cognitive function. It was left to me after he died with another guitar of his. I have never touched a guitar. I am a middle class blue collar broke dude. Friend told me to sell it and save. I just can’t do it. I need to learn to play this guitar. I never played an instrument. I don’t want lessons. Is there a book or an app that could take me from knowing nothing to playing this guitar well enough? Any advice is welcome. Like I said, I just want to learn to play songs and enjoy it. Not trying to be Jimmy Paige.
