If Bioware were to create a character with the appearance and personality of a celebrity, which one would you like? Personally, I would like John Cena as a soldier

I just finished the Mass Effect trilogy, and I’d be interested in diving into the world away from the game. Is there any expanded lore or reading material out there that anyone would recommend?

Firstly not being locked into a single class is so good. I see it all the time in this sub and I do it as well, but people will reply the OT and pick the same class every time but with Andromeda you could experiment with builds without consequences where in OT you don't like the class you chose too bad start a new game.

If there were unique class interactions I would understand not wanting Andromedas system but as it is I can genuinely only think of one the engineer interrupt with the Omega dlc if I am wrong and there are others I would love to be corrected.

Then removing paragon and renegade in the OT the game gives you clear cut choices that are good or bad but Andromeda all choices are up for personal interpretation on what you think is the best option with all choices having shades of grey it gives way to better story telling Andromeda didn't reach the full potential but that doesn't mean a future game couldn't.

Then there is the dialogue system it gave you a lot of freedom to make your character how you want. I may be over hyping this one but I really enjoyed reading your characters bio after a playthrough and having the doctor say how I acted because she notes stuff like if you use more serious dialogue in missions but more casual when talking to your crew

I also enjoyed weapon crafting but wouldn't be surprised if it didn't come back a lot of people didn't like the mining system but I have literally never done it. The game throws so much money at you, you can buy any resource you need to craft

Outside of the story and some of the companions the game has a lot of positives that I hope aren't abandoned for nostalgia bait.

So I'm close to finishing Mass Effect 3 and have about 6300 war assets and have Priority: Horizon asy current mission. Is that enough War Assets for the best ending possible? I plan for going for the control ending if that helps, think it fits my Shepard the best

Was obsessed with the Mass Effect series as a kid and did a lot of playthroughs back in the day, but never got around to playing Andromeda mainly because my interest in gaming kind of dropped off and sorry to say, I did kind of give in to the hate wagon surrounding Andromeda’s release at the time.

I’ve recently been getting back into the series and doing another playthrough with LE and I figured after all this time when I’m done with the trilogy I’ll finally give Andromeda a go.

I guess I wanted to ask in regards to Andromeda since I have a sneaky feeling, was the game overhated at release? Does it have any legitimate problems, and would you say it overall it was a positive addition to the Mass Effect series?

I just finished ME3 last night. Before that I was reading on here some people getting their military strength to 7300 or even 8000. I actually hadn't checked my military strength until I finished the game, which was 5443.

Is there a benefit for getting it higher? How do I even get it higher? The only errands I hadn't done were the omega ones and the Eden Prime one, which I both couldn't go back to do.

I'm doing a paragade playthrough. First time I've intentionally mixed in a decent amount of renegade choices. My question is this...how much renegade/paragon points do I need to get the best outcome for Rannoch? I mid way through Omega, then starting the Quarian/Geth conflict. I've got almost 3 bars of paragon, 1.5 bars of renegade. If I can't get the best outcome on Rannoch I'll be very sad.

When you play through Mass Effect 1 , how do you go about handling the council? Even on a Paragon run I let them get nuked. Throughout the adventure they make some really dumb decisions and they also downplay humanities role in the galaxy, so I let them get smoked. But what do you do? And why?

So I locked into Liara romance in ME1, accidently romanced Jack in ME2 because I didn't know about the LotSB DLC. Then I did the LotSB before the Suicide Mission and romanced Liara. I thought this locked me out of the Jack romance, but she's shown up in my bedroom before the Suicide Mission. If I break up with her will she still be alive in ME3 or if I romance her will it affect Liara romance in ME3?

I was just wondering, why had the devs never made the joke about Shepard marring their gf/bf and so they either are now both Shepard or she has to change her surname.
Just think about the moments it could have created it.

I've just started a new playthrough of Mass Effect 2. The Illusive Man told me to go to Omega. Then Miranda told me to go to Omega. Then EDI told me to go to Omega. I opened the galaxy map and the Normandy was parked right next to Omega.

I said, "Sod that, I'm going to the Citadel to see Captain Anderson. Get my old job back." I was listening to the news and it said witnesses have spotted me on Omega. How the heck did that happen?

As a tittle says, share it! I must say that there are some quality fictions made in Mass Effect universe I read in course of last few years and I would love to read some more, if you knew them and wish to share.

From me, I can solemnly propose to read stories made by LogicalPremise, starting from "Of Sheep and Battle Chicken", that starts just before Mass Effect and through them, changing by more then a little overall plot and building upon it, with extra flare of a little bit Warhammer 40k (though it is my personal taste) and creating more of an dystopian Mass Effect universe, if I may say so. While some changes are not to my liking it is still, in my opinion, the best fanfcition out there. It goes into time beetwen Mass Effect 1 and 2 in "Of Sheep and Battle Chicken: And Then There Were None" and Mass Effect 2 in "Of Sheep and Battle Chicken: That Which Cannot Die". It's sad that currently last novel is still in progress, but it's still great and LogicalPremise offer us his own, Premiverse. It's great. Overall, I read OSaBC twice already.

Long time ago I remember also reading "Memoirs: The Reaper War" by Sharrukin, wich is made from POV of Liara and covers events from Mass Effect 1 to Mass Effect 3 and in beetwen. I remember it was decent, though I didn't liked the ending and then continuation of it and I didn't read it in some time so I can't tell if it holds up.

"The Siege of Shanxi" by Made Nightwing is also nice. Anything with First Contact War have massive potential to be good. And I think that one is one of the best First Contact out there, really. Though sometimes it is a bit over the top. Also read it twice.

I also remember that I enjoyed "Interstitium" by AssaultSloth, wich focuses of Mass Effect 2 in-between-mission talks and character build up of our companions.

What is your opinion on every class? How would you rank it? I personally only play Adept(pure biotic) and notice how much better it gets in later games(only good thing about it in 1 is that the crowd control spells bypass any shields) . So ,best to worst class in every ME and why?

Both the games are on Normal difficulty. I tend to play pretty aggressively so I thought Vanguard would be a nice class for me. But, damn, it's so difficult to keep playing as one. Any suggestions for me? I do use the biotic powers but that doesn't seem to have an effect.

I kinda wanna go back to Soldier because while it was pretty basic, I didn't keep dying all the time and my weapon classes aren't restricted. This either means I should restart the game (I don't want to do the prologue again) or I should use a save editor (and I don't know how that'll wreck the save).

Or do I just set the difficulty to easy and suck it up?

Thats a very specific question, I know. The reason I'm making this comparison is because I got The Outer Worlds for free on the epic games store and it is a boring, uninspired, creatively lazy full price game that I'm glad I never paid a single cent for it and I never even finished it. The other reason is because it's a more recent story driven "rpg" and it has a higher metacritic score than Mass Effect Andromeda so that got me worried when I started to think about buying it. Does it have a better story, better dialog, better combat, with better weapon variety, etc? Because thats not very great in the outer worlds. Another good comparison is Dragon Age Inquisition. I've played it recently and didn't finish it, it was too long and I got tired of the game loop (find new region, do stuff there, find new region and so on), if it was shorter it would be less tiring. I also found DAI very mediocre but much better than TOW. Anyway, I know it's hard to decide if a game is good from other people's perspective but it doesn't hurt to hear about other peoples opinion.

Has anyone had issues playing ME1 & ME2 with a controller plugged into a PC? It works but it only glitches when I’m in combat and shooting, it’s like the trigger will get stuck & I have to unplug/plug it back in so it stops shooting. I didn’t care during ME1 but I just started ME2 and ammo is not unlimited so this is irritating lol. It doesn’t happen all the time but almost once or twice during each combat I engage in.

I’m trying to decipher whether it’s my controller or the game. I want to blame the game bc I truly hate EA but it’s prob my controller lol. Although I don’t have this issues with other games……
